The illuminations have a magical start with the water gardens lit up with a Frozen theme; it is really quite enchanting.
Reimagined once more, the trail this year is on a flat route so ideal for pushchairs and mobility scooters and makes for a gentle stroll.
A delightful surprise of light and music is around every corner.
We were greeted by a very Nordic looking Santa who was keen to check children and parents had been behaving themselves!
It was lovely to pause and warm up toasting our marshmallows over the fire pits.
There are seats and toilets available at the halfway point as well as warm drinks and treats to buy.
The Rose Garden this year is on fire with a myriad of torches and burners; it is very atmospheric. It’s a good bit warmer too and has a number of benches for a romantic interlude, or proposal, perhaps :)
Churchill's garden is transformed into a flower meadow with captivating changing lights that continue on nearby trees.
Follow the path to find the mesmerizing canopy of lights at the end of the trail.

Hopefully you book from the 17th Nov onwards as that's when the Christmas markets open. Also December time will have more markets and lights throughout the highstreets. Albeit the UK is sinking in Christmas traditions

I have to say that here in Milan we still don't have decorations or lights. Usually in Italy it starts in early December, although this year there seems to be a particularly intense Christmas craving. It may be due to the difficult moment we are all experiencing, but there is a desire to feel the spirit of this Christmas and to enjoy its arrival even more than usual.

You need a annual pass to book tickets?
No. Not for the illuminated light trail. It's run by a third party and you definitely don't don't need a Blenheim annual pass. For the Palace display, if you have an annual pass, there are certain days you can go for free, otherwise there's a charge.
