    I'm trying to get a laptop that has a wpi wifi card to configure and associate itself at boot, so that it can attach to a file server at boot. :/ (yes, firmware is in place)... looks like this video may be timely.

    Cleaner idea - bind in from /cfg/$MAC/firmware

      I realize you risk duplicates that way, but we're not limited in file space anymore.

      This makes sense as a way to load firmware after the kernel is loaded. But to use wifi right at boot, the firmware needs to be with the kernel.

      @@adventuresin9 Oh I meant for build time, I guess it makes more sense to do /cfg/$MAC/lib/firmware
