The actions of the U.S. can be seen as almost inevitable. I don't mean to favor Japan, but for the U.S., the concern is that if Japan grows stronger, it would pose a significant challenge. There is a reason for keeping Japan in a semi-colonial state, both politically and militarily. This is why pressure is consistently applied. The evidence is clear: Japan has largely accepted U.S. demands, yet the U.S. has never accepted Japan’s demands even once.
The political expressions in the anime 'GATE' can be seen as an idealized vision from Japan's perspective, almost like a dream. This is because, realistically speaking, Japan cannot prevail over the United States regarding political aggression. From Japan's position, they would likely have to assist in the abduction of girls and carry out this operation under the guise of misleading the Japanese public through concealment and information manipulation. Furthermore, there is a possibility that not only the U.S. but also, to avoid friction, Japan might facilitate negotiations between the U.S. and China.
In reality, the otherworldly individuals would have likely fallen into the hands of various countries, leaving only a few behind. The gate itself would undoubtedly have seen U.S. intervention, with it appearing to be under Japanese control to avoid backlash from the Japanese public, while the U.S. secretly pulls the strings. The feeling of an extremely grim conclusion arises from the fact that contemporary Japan has shifted towards being a symbol of peace, refraining from aggressive actions or direct interventions with any country. It’s somewhat painful to portray the U.S. as the villain, but honestly, without considering the sentiments of the American people, the government could very well act in such a way.
