talented n stunning
She was only 18 going on 19 here.. so innocent but so grown
That’s strange. Monica graduated high school a lit bit too early, at just 16 years old? 🤔
@@godb3594 Yup - they were ALL young girls in that era singing grown music... Aaliyah, Brandy, Monica
Ikr
@@godb3594 Yes, she indeed graduated at 16 in 1997. She was homeschooled for several years, which allowed her to advance a grade level.
she can really sing like fuck😭
How could you not love Monica?!
SHE LOOKED BEAUTIFUL!

OMG She was so BEAUTIFUL!
NEVER END….
Yesss I love this song and love when she performs ittt 😍😍🔥
Very rare for Mo to have braids considering it was Brandy's signature look at the time 🥰
monica's style was a little edgier than brandy's, especially with her hair - she usually had a half-up/half-down hairdo, or long, straight & flowing locks
Funny u mention this, it’s a video of them in the studio recording boy is mine… they both had braids.
I remember this beautiful song from my days at North Middle School and I was a track star back then. We'd celebrate the weekend after my win and this song came on in the room we rented to party after I won my race. Such beautiful memories that I'll never forget and always remember forever in my heart ❤️❤️💝🥰💝
This was an awesome rendition of this song
You have such a great channel. I was born in 86 so I am a True 90s kid. Meaning I got to experience my full child hood in the 90s. And all your videos take me back to late elementary and middle school years
aw thank youu!! i'm glad people enjoy and share my passion for '90s r&b; it's just a point of acknowledging that the female r&b artists i post really led the culture at one point and their mainstream influence vocally and stylistically is undeniable. let's please lift up and appreciate these icons and even legends of our time!!
Agreed.
La Belle Époque 😔😔😔❤
WOW 👏👏👏
Love Monica❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for this timeless footage love her sm
Legend
Back when the record label forced her to wear those arm bands to cover up that No Limit Tank on her arm LOL
Oh, Thanks, I was wondering about that
Shoutout to that white boy in the first row; mans got taste!
Monica been a sanger and damn pretty since yesterday
Mooo🥰
Kelly cover brought me here
Im trying to find Michelle Williams singing backup for Monica before she was in DC and i cant find any
I don’t remember her having backup singers as much as other artists at the time from performances I’ve seen on here.
PRONGRACES❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
At this point, she was on her way to being the 'Young Whitney' but then she fell off after the next "Missy produced" album!
She lived Nippy's life before Whitney did!
She hooked up with a knucklehead who got himself killed and her career never recoved!
Such as shame --- and the rest is history!

❤
She looked like Whitney here to me
She was kinda hoarse which is rare... But I like the sound and texture it's creating
Her voice sometimes reminds me of Whitney.
