Porvenir, is a commune of Chile, located in the Province of Tierra del Fuego, Region of Magalhães and Antarctica. The main urban center is the city of Porvenir, capital of the Province of Tierra del Fuego.
The commune of Porvenir was created on June 20, 1894 along with the communes of Primavera, Bahía Ustille (current Timaukel) and Navarino (present Cape Horn), forming the Department of Tierra del Fuego, from which it became capital.
