We’re flying solo this week, b*tches. Disney queens Christy Carlson Romano and Anneliese Van Der Pol talk about some of their most painful audition moments, discuss experiences of being fired from TV shows, and how they survived working with difficult theater directors. Plus, the ladies reflect on how they learned to be content with their own talents.
Was Christy a pyro?! What happened at Anneliese’s worst audition? Did Christy almost direct an episode of Raven?! Tune in now!

What are your favorite moments from the episode??
Ummmmm that Joan Clayton was not playing.
All parts!
Good lord the 2 of you need to sing more together. its beautiful!!!
I love that you guys randomly ask each other deep questions like "what do you believe happens after you die" lol. It's nice to hear both of your faith backgrounds. I love getting to know you ladies as grown women since we didn't really get to see that side of you on the shows we grew up (and loved) watching! Would love to hear more random deep questions like this!
That it was just you two!!
Please get Aly & AJ on!!! Would love it it you all chatted for hours. Theyve been on Keke Palmer's podcast and it was iconic. Also love the solo episodes with just you and Anneleise. You two are so fun!
Yes!
PLEASE
Thank you for saying this it be good to see them again for real 💕❤️
Yessss!!!
❤
Anneliese's voice brings me to tears; her energy is so beautifully charismatic. What a gift you both are. Thanks for your vulnerability and big name energies. Thanks for making my childhood golden.
We love you
Love when it’s just you two chit-chatting and feeding off each others energy 🩵
I would love to see you both sing a duet! Maybe a Christmas special?!
Thiiiis!
Came here to comment this! I was in awe of how well their voices blended together! 😍
@@grooovymakcool
Do you know Annelise was on Bratz with Janel Parrish
❤❤❤
💯
As much as I love interviews, I love you two just chatting and sharing your life experiences even more. You’re both so down to earth and unapologetically honest, while still being so kind and joyful. Seriously love you guys and this podcast 🥰❤️
I really liked what Annalisa said ar the end about having a talent for yourself. As a musician who doesnt gig or anything, i think theres still a TON of value in doing it just for you/your loved ones.
Thank yall and the crew for your hard work and content. I love hearing you share and be so genuine. I am wishing you all the best.
Interviews are great, but I just really love you guys. Wouldn’t mind episodes like this more often!
Gawsh love you
I love that it's just you guys and no guest, would love more of these.
Hahah this is a recurring theme ok!
@@christycarlsonromano Yess it's just so natural and funny and honest! You both have such interesting lives, so many stories and perspectives!
Anneliese and Christy, this episode was exactly what I needed to hear today. I've loved every guest you've had on so far, but I think this has been my favorite episode. You manage to talk about such important topics in such an honest and vulnerable way. Christy's quote, "Self-destructive behavior is a self-fulfilling prophecy" is something I really needed to hear, and I loved Anneliese's point about how we as women should feel comfortable sharing our stories. Thank you for another great episode! ❤
I look forward to this podcast each week since it’s premiere. I love y’all’s dynamic. I admire you two my fellow theatre gals ❤
Thank you we love you!
I loved Annaliese’s story about getting fired, more of that plssss
More tea? Well okayyyyyy
I love the energy you both bring. If i had the money I would pay to see you 2 in a dark comedy drama, in like the style of curb your enthusiasm playing exaggerating versions of yourselves, poking fun of the industry while showing what you guys went thru.
Hahah it’s like go to the places you cried and laugh there ya know? Change the narrative.
Absolutely, but it has been truly great seeing you both open up and be honest. When that is a difficult thing to do.👏👏
This was a hard one for me. I lost my sister to her alcohol addiction November 6. She was 44 and left behind her 6 yo son. I am like you and don't fear death, I fear not being there for my 4 kids while they grow up. I am extra proud of your sobriety ❤❤ much love
Thank you Jamie! Sending you love this holiday season
This was easily my favorite episode. Love the guests too, but hearing you guys chat, play off each other, and share your experiences was so great. I think every few episodes it’d be awesome to get one with just you two!
*Most people are taught that "you only need a good job to become rich". These billionaires are operating on a whole other playbook that many don't even know exists*
Growing your money in bear market is an act
I invest with Mr Philip Marshall, i make about a 30,000USD every month.
Same here, a Transformations of £4000 to a £15,400 in just 2 weeks, He's the really best
Expert Philip Marshall never seems to surprise me 😄 i also trade with him, his strategies are top notch and i don't joke with him.
Oh please guys, is there any way I can reach out to Mr Philip Marshall , this sounds so helpful and I would love to be guided well
Just want to say, thank you for what you ladies do, and the positivity/joy you exude. It makes people like myself and many others who are having a hard time finding job, surviving in the economy, etc. (all the fun stuff lol) feel a little bit better knowing that we’re not alone with the ups and downs of life. Keep doing what you do!
You're not alone! We're all going through it. Hope it gets better for you. 🙏🏻
Ashley Tisdale is 38. Suite Life premiered in 2005, High Musical in 2006
Awesome episode! You are doing such a great job with this podcast Christy! ❤
so crazy to learn all this. I actually saw you on Broadway way back on 2004 as Belle. I still have your autographed picture from the playbill along with the rose they handed out during the show.
The casting process is so relatable. Once you go into a job interview or an audition and they already have that, "Let's just get this over with" attitude, you already know that it's gonna be a waste of time.
I want to say to Anneliese that it's true she is massively talented, her singing is amazing and her comedic timing is impeccable so i'm so sorry hollywood failed you honey really you are so gorgeous and i hope you know how happy we are your og fans that we get to connect with you these days.
i absolutely love this podcast!!💖
You two are the era of Disney kids I grew up watching which was my favorite!! I absolutely love you ladies so so much & y'all are inspiring & fun to watch. This podcast is AMAZING!!
Best podcast ever. I wish there could be more than one episode per week. These are awesome.
Honestly this podcast brings me so much joy!! Healing my inner child and grown self all at the same time 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽
❤❤❤
we need an album of Anneliese singing oldies--that vibrato makes my heart flutter
Love this podcast!! Is it too much to ask for more of these weekly 😂❤. Also can you please sing every podcast because it’s so comforting!! Beautiful voices
I love seeing you both thrive. Your vulnerability in talking about your sobriety journey is so important and so inspiring. ❤️❤️
Hands up for a Christy Christmas Album 🎄🎁
I'm glad you're doing episodes of chatting with each other about sobriety and the process of healing from horrible things you've both endured. It's been really wonderful to witness your personal journey of empowerment and growth that you've shared on this platform, and it especially feels really authentic and genuine. I don't know your personal reasons, but for the integrity of holding space for people to honestly express their truths, I do hope that you can make amends privately or at least will consider putting Alexa's vulnerable episode back up.
Christy PLEASE let Anneliese finish her thoughts omg
🤐
I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!! can watch yall everyday talking about anything, love how smart and intelligent you ladies are! also when christy said its a "diet -ka-kaine" I died lmaoo
I can TOTALLY relate to what Annalise said at the end. I've ALWAYS thought she would be amazing as Fanny Price because she's a solid soprano belter. To me her voice is much richer and fuller than Lea Michele. But people don't always pick or cast the best person for the job. Not just in the entertainment industry but also everywhere else too. If you're truly talented, you can just enjoy it and know it for yourself, there is no need to prove it to anybody else.
I love the realness of the podcast when Christy said moms are the default parent I felt it. all her honesty in parenting love it ❤
I really am enjoying the layers to your personality. Kitchen throwbacks gave into that sweet girl next door personality we know you for. But big name is showing off the DGAF attitude. Loving this!!!
You are my people ❤️❤️❤️
And what did we learn today . . . Diest coke is not cocaine, it's diet cocaine. =)
Your guys singing voices are so beautiful !!! ❤😂🎉 lovely and such beautiful harmonizing together . Very complimentary duo
I really love these two together , we should of had this wayyyyy back in the day . Could you imagine if these two had their own show on Disney ? Lol
I LOVE this episode of only just you and Anneliese. I love your friendship!!
Did I completely close something I was watching to watch this? “Yup, yup, yup, yup”
Love you ladies! Thanks for the episode
Please more episodes without guests!!! YOU GUYS are the reason why we tune in! ❤❤
ahhaahahaha my favorite part is the "how cute" after Christy's piro phase ahhaahaah gotta love Annaliese
lol
I love waking up and listening to you two , who would of thought you two together would be the dream team !!! Now it feels like I’m listening to my older sisters lol
As a nanny, i was really touched by the way you talk about yours. It's nice to see some mom engaging some much about us.
Really like those conversations.
I really enjoyed having just you two in this episode 😊 and also go off sponsorships!
Yassss we love the sponsorship!!!
um christy with the MF VOCALS girl GO AWF👏🏽if you two don’t open each episode with a song I👏🏽AM👏🏽SUING👏🏽
Teehee
This is the video i was waiting for!!! Love love love you ladies! Being authentic, speaking your truth. i love the conversations you guys have. More like this please!!
Anneliese is a true theater queen. It's probably for the best that she didn't do that naked scene. They always try to force nudity into a play, especially when it is uncalled for.
I really love these solo episodes that are just you too. There’s no pressure and just good conversation.
I love this podcast so much
Thank you both for being so vulnerable and raw in these. It’s such an honor to sit in on your conversations. We all are flawed and fuck up. It’s what we do after we realize it that defines us.
I love all your guests, but I also love these episodes where it's just you two! I want more of these!
I LOVED this episode 😭 deep talks with just you two, this was literally so wonderful 💗
☺️☺️☺️
Another fan here who was super happy to listen to just the two of you talking, you're what Im here for! ❤❤
Today's the 33rd anniversaries of Walt Disney Pictures's "The Rescuers Down Under" & "The Prince and the Pauper" (starring Mickey Mouse), and 20th Century Fox's "Home Alone".
I know you guys did this bc we’ve been asking for it, so thank you!! I’m loving this episode of just the gals ❤
I don’t mind at all when it’s just you two!! I love listening to yall!!
Yay you guys did a solo video !! I’m here for more of this
Ok! well do more.
LMAO this episode was brilliant haha anneliese & Christy y’all crack me up sm lmaooo, not the office looking at camera moment anneliese had during the funny girl role longing 🤭😭😂😂
It's always nice to see you guys on Thursdays ❤
I love this so much, yall are the highlight of my day! So glad I found your channel!
you are both so talented. and I definitely agree with what Christy was saying about social media and the disney actors. The sort of 3rd and fourth gens if you will are perfect examples. They've had a much easier time transitioning out of disney because they weren't beholden to the characters they played. Fans get to see their own personality and work outside of disney on social media and they can get more work outside of disney because of that social media presence. Yall didnt have that.
As a millennial- I appreciate these intimate conversations. Thanks for sharing your experiences
more solo episode pls! 🩷
You too are amazing together! By the way, I saw Grease on Broadway in the 90’s, and at first I was upset that they sang Since I Don’t Have You instead of Hopelessly Devoted but then I became obsessed with it!!! Also a beautiful song!! ❤️🎼❤️
Chriiisty! Your voice is beautiful! Please sing circle of life with Annaliese 😂
Anneliese belting out "My man" from Funny Girl would give me so much life or a tender rendition of the actual song "Funny Girl" ❤❤❤
You guys don’t need guest, I love the beginning back fourth between you and Annaliese more tbh
Hahah ok!
I'm ex military and an addict after my service. I think of death everyday. Whether it's death I've seen or my eventual death and it's really scary because we don't know what happens when we die, and many religions have really bad punishments for not believing....so if we die and get it wrong, we gunna suffer bad if a god exists.
I feel like it’s so hard to put generations on the shows because there’s so much overlap. In my eyes, Even Stevens, Lizzie McGuire, That’s So Raven, and Phil of the Future are all the same “generation,” but That’s So Raven and Phil of the Future ran until 2007, which was when High School Musical 2 came out. So realistically, there was a lot of overlap. I’m not mad at your comments though. They exist as very separate time periods in my mind lol
Please do more episodes with just you two! Maybe an even Stevens tea episode and then a Raven one?
by FAR the best episode so far. Love just you two talking and going deep. This is what will make this pod blow up! Love u
This pod is like watching and listening to your two older sisters at a sleepover. SO comforting and hilarious!!
Agreed!
This! While they played 'older sisters' in their respective shows, they were also older sisters in my head lol Im glad this podcast is happening
I need yall to record a Christmas song
Yup!!!
I love watching you both since getting together. You are such awesome funny women that just make it feel good to escape and just get a sneak peek into your lives. Your very fascinating women and truly sooooo talented. I thank god there are smart, funny, talented people like you two in my generation to continue to root for and watch. I’ll always support and follow you both. Thank you❤
“It’s cause you dying when you drink it” 😭🤣🤣🤣
living for you two just vibing for an hour! I love the range of guests you guys get, but i could listen to you two talk for ever!! you can totally tell youre friends who want to be doing this
Anneliese my Teen crush. We’re all the same age. Love you ladies Amazing podcast! ❤
Regarding the human influence comment, I definitely agree. However, if you go to a Katy Perry concert or especially a Taylor Swift concert, I think you’ll be surprised at how much influence they have and the amount of passionate fans.
Yall both are some of the OGs in my book! It’s crazy to watch these women knowing they were my childhood! Seeing this side of the both of you is amazing! ❤❤❤
We love you! 💪🏻 you are our people
I am so happy you guys made an episode with just you two rambling! I loved it so much. Please do some more ❤️
You guys should do a music episode, discuss the Disney music you did, aspirations on breaking into mainstream etc, Christy’s album, Annalise “day in the sun” etc how they wanted to market you guys etc
So human an beautiful. Thank you for this episode
did christy say "rate, follow subscribe"? lol. Also yall are lovely women! honestly im down for just yall two talking every now and then without a guest because you're both so entertaining!
Thank you sweet thang
favorite moment is both y'all just bouncing off each other, the best episodes have been with just you two big name bitches, your energy is just so strong, keep it up loves 💕
Ok!
Loved this 1 on 1! And pls sing more songs from musicals 🥹 Maybe a music video 👀
Very interesting and a positive podcast and great topics that you both have... Keep it up!! 💯💯💯💯
7:00 im currently going on week 3 without diet coke (bc all the regular bad stuff but it also could be making my joint pain worse so IM TRYING) so i’m askin- no BEGGING you to enjoy every sip of that for me 😭💕
Why did I start tearing up when Christy started singing! Proud of her! ❤
Thank you Taylor ❤️
You girls are so sharp and I don't know how you manage to keep up with each other but it's so satisfying to watch lol
Love you thank you
@@christycarlsonromano Love you!
Ladies, you are both an absolute pleasure to watch and listen to. I loved this episode with you sharing your career and life experiences. 💔❤ 🎭
I love just hearing yall talk about about your experiences. As someone in the arts too
I lovveee this podcast!!! I love you guys!! I listen to it during my cleaning job at the dance studio and it always keeps me engaged😂 keep it up, you have fans!!
Love your channel Christy.
Excited to see who you have in the future.
💯💜💪🏼
We love you ladies! Thanks for the serious and funny moments! As for me with death I lost my sister in January. So I am the last remaining person from my immediate family of four. Never thought that would be the case. Holidays really mean nothing to me now.
"Since I Don't Have You," was originally performed by The Skyliners in the 1950s. I had no idea they featured it in a musical.
Yeah, they interpolated it into the 1994 revival of Grease so Sandy could have another song
My favorite episode thus far! My favorite part of each episode are christy’s and Annalisa’s banter so to get a full episode of just the two of them was the best!!!! Alain S/n Christy stop down playing your voice! Omg just like Annalisa said I started to believe you but no no no your voice is so beautiful. Sing more 💛
Sam you are so sweet. Okay, I’ll sing more. Wait for our Christmas special
I just love this podcast! Especially in video form; you can see the emotions.
First of all I love both of you amazing women! I don't think human influence has died down. I took my 14 year old daughter ( I'm 35) to her first concert. All of those lovejoy fans were just as insane as us *nsync fans
