A poet who should be admired for rising to great heights and becoming Poet Laureate inspite of all the odds against her.She shows her indefatigable spirit in the poem itself, where she talks of being buried, drowned and burnt, but still able to come back to life like Lazarus, through the sheer power of love!
Thanks Indira for picking up this unique poem and explaining it so well

What struck me was the commonalty snd similarity of human emotions all over the world ranging from perceptions of death to the finality and
dissolution of the b ody to the eternal dominance of love in the human psyche.Such simple language simple thoughts but the poignancy cannot missed

There is hope and dream of love even beyond death, wow!! This reminds me of the Sanskrit shloka, Asatao Maa...all the way to Mrutyor Maa, Amritam gamaya! The 4 elements of nature - earth, air, fire and water make the poem very interesting and the 5th element - the space is referred to when she says the ashes scattered all over. Kudos to Indira for bringing out such complex and hidden meanings in her simple yet elegant style!
