A week ago I never heard of this band. But I happened to see a concert performance video and was blown away! Their command of the stage was incredible. Since then I've been trying to digest their song writing. And I think it's brilliant, especially for musicians so young. Your videos always educate me. Thanks for sharing and adding interesting elements to my enjoyment of The Warning's music.
In my opinion The Warning is the best rock trio since Rush. Rush had one of the biggest live sounds of any band I'd seen in concert - They also used a lot of 'backing tracks' live to make it sound closer to the album, especially from the 1980s forward. I also really appreciate and love that the ladies don't use auto-tune in this age of "pre-programed electronic disco" as the Blues Brothers commented during their shows.
TorToroPorco That's a one-of-a-kind bass that Spector Basses built for her. She has been a Spector artist since she was 14. And Spector are now developing an Ale Villarreal signature bass for sale.
I have not seen Ale's "signature bass" available anywhere online or on Spector Bass website personally. Maybe you've seen it. What I do see is the color scheme called "Ale's Inferno" which matches her Bass color and you can get her model in that color which may be pretty close to what Ale uses.
Killer sound coming from this three piece band! Really love this original song. Powerful drumming and great guitar riffs. Rock solid vocals. I love seeing these lady rockers slaying with their guitars & drums. Love it! Sign me up, I'm on board! ROCK🤘
These ladies are terrific. I believe the band’s tightness in tempo and harmony is significantly enhanced by the fact they’re all siblings. Would very much like to see you have them back on the channel for another interview.👍
@@patriciaeddy7629 Yes, they're truly outstanding in every aspect of their craft, in addition to being really good people. A lot of us who are fans of the band are older, in not a few cases older than the sum of their ages.
Fil - The show in the UK was part of their Kickstarter campaign back in February, 2019. I am almost positive that they will come at some point. As you know, every time things get better, there is another downturn. They have vowed to fulfil all of the promised Kickstarter rewards, so I would bet my house that they will come over as soon as they can. We all hope you are part of the show too.
What you wrote is slightly wrong. The concert was organized by a different Kickstarter campain from fans that are patreons of The Warning with very good relationship to the sisters but non the less I am very positive that Dany, Pau and Ale will try their best to catch up to make the concert happen.
I think they solved the 2 or 3 takes for video issues in their official “Evolve,” video by simultaneously recording with 18 iPhones and a drone. It’s brilliant!
the warning every day and in each song they show their great quality without a doubt in a short time it will be the best rock group in the world just listen to choke, evolve, QOTMS, martirio, narcisista and more

opening for the foo fighters , on metallica's tribute album , and their new album coming out soon . -----> the girls are on fire !!!!!!! (also thanks fil !)
They have pledged to still do the London gig as soon as can be arranged around the covid travel rules etc and is safe to come. It was from a kickstarter campaign to get them to London and part of the negotiations with the label when they signed was to have it written in to the contract that they will honour these commitments. Hope to see you there when it happens.
I love this song, for being a live studio performance, it sounds really close to the original. This was recorded at Victoria Records in Monterrey, Mx. The next song you should react to is "Evolve", fast pace and high energy. They also did a collaboration with Shauntrack, a famous Spain RUclipsr, same song with a slightly different sound. I'll see you in the comments as soon as you can react to it, thanks.
Having seen The Warning live a week ago, fifteen feet from centre stage, and having had my head crushed by the bass and drums, while the audience sang all the songs, I see a bright future for these girls and the stadium-ready anthems they write. For full transparency, I’m at retirement age, I’ve played bass for fifty years and I’ve done my time playing complex stuff live in front of audiences. I’m gob-smacked by the power of these young women that far exceeds what I could ever do.
as an old Front-man from a mid-sixty's rock band, who, by the way can't play a lick on a guitar, I am amazed that I can still spend half an hour watching and listening to you breaking down songs! Your analysis of singers is what I usually come for, but you make it so damned interesting! I got "warned" a couple of months ago, and I could kick myself that I have missed out on so much, but I am catching up fast. I have been looking for this for 20 years, and I didn't even know it. I'm looking forward to more from you on The Warning, as I think they are the best thing to happen to music......ever! And, by the way, next time a little more...no, a lot more, on Ale's bass playing, which is the only instrument I wish I could play!
Even though I don’t have Patreon I do follow the bands Instagram and RUclips channels. The band does a great job of going behind the scenes and breaking down how they do various things. I recently watched a Instagram live feed with Dany and Pau filming for Dany Day. She broke down her newest pedal board and used the song Narcisista as an example. That video and how Fil mentioned some of the same techniques in his analysis is so interesting. Watching them play live and see Dany constantly changing settings make so much more sense after watching their Instagram live stream. Also watching Pau’s masterclass at Soundcheck Xpo and listening to her explain a bit about their click track and how she controls the show on her laptop was really cool.
I must admit that have been so anticipating your analysis to The Warnings new music. I still watch your interview with them every so often. After all you are my go to. Looking forward to your analysis to Evolve!!! Awesome video Fil thank you!
You are a wonderful teacher's Fil, I'm not a musician I've played the trumpet in high school, But you've got a way of talking that keeps me interested and aggravates me at the same time that I'm not able to what you do, But you're breakdown on what's going on It's (brilliant) I think that's the word that my brothers across the ocean use I Kind of Like Like it myself. Peace out🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 Hell's Bells I left out the warning, They are beautiful sisters⚡⚡⚡🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽
Another insightful and excellent analysis. Not only do you break down the song construction but add in the why element and how all the instruments fit. Dany did do a video showing her Line6 settings which show how much went into building the effects for the different sections. No, I’ll never approach your level of playing a guitar, but I sincerely appreciate a chance to understand techniques which are new to me. Bravo!
Hey Phil, love the reaction and the knowledge you bring to us! There is a live Version of their next single Evolve with Shauntrack on his channel, no copyright issues with this version. The official version of Evolve is FIRE, using 16 or 18 iPhones and a drone, an imaginative concept for a music video!
I don't normally make requests, but I would love to see your analysis on the new version of "Enter Sandman" by Alessia Cara and The Warning from the Metallica Blacklist album. This was a great breakdown btw, really enjoyed seeing all the subtle techniques used to make such great song.
I just discovered them last week and im now hooked. One of the best bands ive heard in years, decades even! Even their stuff they recorded when they were younger rocked.
Thanks for coming back to the Warning after about a year like they say better late than never but great analysis and guitar playing of my favorite Rock Band The Warning cheers Phil
Great analysis as usual Fil, just wish you'd have talked about Ale's bass line a bit though (Maybe when you dissect Evolve you'll talk more about bass... LoL!!!)... Again you rock, The Warning rock...
Hey, Fil great stuff here great work again. Send me a little look analyses piece on the Bass playing of Ale & her work. For a 16yr old I have her 100 on stage 100 off stage. This is remarkable, and unheard of territory. thx
Tripped across the Warning in 2016 watched them grow as musicians and singer/song writers. Daniela's voice as gotten so good. Love your analysis's you do it the right way.
THAT woke me right up! Great follow-up to Fanny! I love family bands for tons of reasons and the analysis helped sort out the performance for me. Thanks, Fil!
Thank you so much Fil, it was a great great reaction. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole 30 mins. Great breakdown and analysis and loved it when you played the chords too.
Wonderful breakdown of the song, thank you. These girls are great! I love that heavy riff in the song, to me it's reminiscent of something like a cross between Zeppelin's "The Ocean" / kind of fused with a sprinkling of Black Sabbath. It sounds WAY beyond their years! They really have a keen sense for the dynamics of a song, as well... kind of Nirvana-like. These girls are fantastic musicians, plus, I really like the heavy-handedness of the drummer! I can't think of another female drummer who even compares to her. Imagine what they will create in the future...
My fav lady of this is ale soft solo vocal is so cool in that low tone. Saw a video of theirs where they interviewed the parents and you see where the girls get their beauty, their mother is so beautiful.
I had listened to this version of Choke quite a few times, but never noticed the underlying guitar solo notes in the pre-chorus, where Dany is doing the chugging rhythm. You pointed this out about 21 minutes into your video saying it might be hard to hear without good speakers. But now that you have pointed it out, I hear it clearly. That makes me realize that I was listening to this with my own pre-bias since it's "live" and I was not listening for overdubs or layers - but of course, there's that laptop next to Pau controlling exactly those things. This is the best analysis of this song on the Internet. :) Great job!
Hey Fil! I've been a fan of these girls for several years, and to view your excellent analysis is a real pleasure. It's pretty cool to see how these girls are growing and developing as artists (and people). I'm a musician myself and your analyses always results in a real feeling of kinship with you. Great video!
Excellent detailed breakdown. Much more than the standard reaction videos that we see. If you have time for more analysis of the Warning, that would be very cool. Maybe Evolve would be a good choice for a detailed breakdown, or Dust To Dust.
...I hav absolutely NO idea what U are talking about...but Ur breakdowns r very interesting 2 watch n consume...your knowledge is amazing...as these girls r...thank U Sir...
Very cool to see the terrific rock guitar on this song broken down on this. The guitar really sticks out on this version. Love the chords underneath the chorus. So happy The Warning has fans across the pond. Great review!! Really enjoyed it. 🎸🎸🤘🏼🤘🏼
Great analysis!! This song is an EPIC sonic tsunami! They created a very unique style for their music which is awesome! FYI on november 10 they will open for Foo Fighters at Foro sol Sadium in Mexico City. Amazing! Viva The Warning!! ⚡⚡⚡
Just a few days ago, I saw your recent analysis of the band Fanny as the first all-female [rock] band to be signed to a major label, and here we are fifty years hence with another all-female rock band signed to a major label. Listening to your analysis of that band, I was able to draw several parallels to this band. I am glad to see you getting back to The Warning. I hope you will be able to see them in London when they can re-schedule that concert. I hope you'll get another opportunity to chat with them again soon.
Thanks Fil! I always enjoy your analyses. This is my favorite version of this song because you can very clearly hear each girl's contribution to the song. I especially like the way Ale's bass is very clear and prominent in the mix.
The amount of work these people have put into their craft is just stunning. Dani learning to sing well as high as she does while playing quite complex guitar as Fil demonstrates. Pau (nuff said!). And the always ignored Ale who gets little credit for acrobatic bass playing. And their prolific songwriting, complex melodically, thoughtful comparatively non-repetitive lyrics, carefully arranged. Astounding, esp their volume of output at such young ages.🎉
I think getting together with Rudy and getting the ladies back on your channel is the best idea I heard all day, that's what I think. Great video Fil, real entertainment and educational as well. Evolve was done live at the same studio but the camera work of the official video...which you shouldn't have trouble with...is not to be missed. Also their collab with Alessia Cara for the Blacklist Album (Enter Sandman) is an honest to goodness chef's kiss to the sky (and things that go bump..) if I had means to support you on Patreon I would donate a tonne to see your reaction to that. I LOVE THIS BAND !! ✌💖🎼
So many people say that there's no good rock out there. There's lot of it. You just have to dig a bit deeper to find it. It's not on the radio. It's not on the top of streaming lists. It's in the weeds a bit. And here is a prime example. Thanks, Phil for sharing this. I'm following The Warning, for sure.
Like you, I know a 1000 bands. IMO, these girls are the best act in decades. Put them up against any power trio from Rush to Triumph to ZZ Top, Grand Funk. Danys vocals are just so powerful with such emotive feel. Even Ann Wilson and Pat Benetar are well, very good of course, but Dany just knocks me out. Evolve, Money and a whole bunch of songs are just brilliant. My new favorite band period.
Fil, hola! Qué bueno que te diste el tiempo para analizar esta canción de las hermanas Villarreal. Interesante que destaques aquellos "pequeños" detalles que hacen grande está canción. Saludos desde México
Even as a nonmusician, I thoroughly enjoy the insights of your in-depth analysis. Your smart and tactful descriptions about this ladies' music convinced me to subscribe. Thanks!
Loved watching you break down the guitar line on this song...watched it a bunch of times. If you can get to it, it'd be great if you could do same thing for their song, "Evolve". They have a live session for it just like this one. Thank you so much and enjoy watching all your videos. Have a great day!
Not so much grunge, but they do have many influences from all over and they tend to lean towards that 90's era rock as a vibe. But, I think Queen was the predominant band played when they were young. They have said that watching Queen concerts weekly as a family was a fond childhood memory. They are very versatile. They are on their third album in their 8 or 9 years as a proper band. They are a fantastic rabbit hole to fall down. 👍
A lot of my friends are very anxious to see these ladies live again . This video to me is better than the official one. It's more raw more like they are a trio . Good one Fil
Thanks yet again for reacting to The Warning! I found this amazing trio of sisters through your first analysis video back in 2019, and what a ride it has been. In less than 24 hours (as I type this, obviously 🙂) they’re premiering the video of a special collaborative cover of Enter Sandman with Canadian singer-songwriter Alessia Cara. It’s part of Metallica’s Blacklist, the 30th Anniversary celebration of the Black Album. It features 53 different cover versions of songs from that legendary LP. All proceeds go to charity, so it’s well worth checking out for that reason alone.
Thank you, Fil! Love your analysis a lot! Happy to have spent my whole lunch break with it! So many details you point out, that show me how well composed and arranged this song really is! How I would love your guitar analysis to their newest single Evolve, that has a beast of a riff and an interesting tempo of 7/8… Try the live version they recorded with Spanish RUclipsr ShaunTrack during their holidays in Spain… as you know, these girls are best live! You are the best reviewer out there I now when it comes to the musical and technical topics! Greetings from Germany 👍⚡️🤘
Thanks Fil, VERY cool breakdown of Dany's guitar work on this!😁 Being that this was the first single that was released from their new album, it was very well received by the whole 'Warning Army' and the public in general. It seems like it's been forever since we've heard new material from them, but it was definitely worth the wait. The overall performance is just a testament to how musically adept these young ladies are! Hopefully you'll check out their rendition of Enter Sandman that they just dropped (w/ Alessia Cara) for the new Metallica 'Blacklist' album. It's definitely worth the watch/listen😉 🤘😎🤘
How did I miss this review. Interesting you chose this live version instead of the video. Good choice brother! Seeing them live twice was just an experience I hope you will get the chance to do. Just a Phenomenal Rock Band! Have you seen Disciple or Evolve yet? You will love 💗

Yes, I was thinking along those lines too. What song though?
Ale's little vocal solo is just so her. As she grows and evolves, it will always be a time-check for these moments in her life.
I agree with Magnificent......Ale has such an attractive alto voice. She's underrated in her vocals. The whole band is great.

The hookup between Ale and Pau is amazing!
Ooh, been looking forward to this.
✌💖🎼
Great reaction 🎸🥁🤘
I love Daniels voice she as a great range to her voice but I love pau you can't miss her in any performance she make her self known
Ale is my all-time favourite musician. Such power, such grace. The bass in the second verse is beautiful. Is she 16 here?
Thank you, sir. Lovin’ The Warning 🤘🙏🏻❤️🇫🇮
I've been following these girls for awhile and they get... 👍👍
Fil, hola! Qué bueno que te diste el tiempo para analizar esta canción de las hermanas Villarreal. Interesante que destaques aquellos "pequeños" detalles que hacen grande está canción. Saludos desde México
So that's why it tickles my senses 🤔.
Great analysis Fil!
Thank you for all your support!
🤘🤓💯
The Three Headed Monster: The Warning!!!
T-shirts are back..yay! 😋😁
Even as a nonmusician, I thoroughly enjoy the insights of your in-depth analysis. Your smart and tactful descriptions about this ladies' music convinced me to subscribe. Thanks!
Thanks!
Loved watching you break down the guitar line on this song...watched it a bunch of times. If you can get to it, it'd be great if you could do same thing for their song, "Evolve". They have a live session for it just like this one. Thank you so much and enjoy watching all your videos. Have a great day!
Fil, your shirt is amazing!!
Never even heard of them? Awesome! Grunge roots? Thank you fil🌷
Fil, thanks for analyzing The Warning again. Excellent analysis of an excellent performance! Bravo.
Great performance. Thanks for sharing Fil. Enjoyed it Rock 🤟
That was great❤️
Thank you, Fil!
Thanks!
Yes since my interview with them we've stayed up to date!
Super solid band. Actually, the best band that has emerged in the 21st century
