I still drive one with exactly the same engine and it works flawlessly. You can get one for very cheap and maintenance costs are low. I only had to replace the battery a few months ago, but that's fine. And obviously it's important to change oil every year. But since it's only 3 liters, it's also not a big deal moneywise
Reliable car. I and three other friends travel 1500 km on the Corsa, but the B (1995, 1.4 - 60 hp), along the south coast of Brazil. It wasn't fast, but it had good torque and stability. Corsa C in Brazil: 1.0 (70 and 78 hp), 1.4 (97 hp) and 1.8 (112 hp). Gasoline and flex (gasoline/ethanol) - hatch and sedan (just four doors) - and pick-up (Chevrolet Montana - two doors).
I drive a corsa gsi 1.8, ive had 2 of these and two 1.2 s. And 1 1.0. I have loved all of them. But the gsis take the cake of course. Just so much torque for such a little car. Stunning
the blue smoke is because of oil burn issue. The car's engine is burning oil. If it's headgasket issue, then you could see white smoke coming from the car 😁
Such a nice car. The Corsa was very popular here in Brazil back in the GM days (it was sold under Chevrolet brand here). I almost bought one with a 1.8L / 114hp.
Got one with 250.000km 2003 1.0L 3 cylinder, pretty beaten up, drove 2 days without engine oil because she ate it all, still runs fine at 300k km. Fun to drive, perfect 1st car, cheap, reliable, the 2 doors is gorgeous. A shame i had to scrap it
@@adarbs6384 I wrote "underpowered" because I was being ironic. You ask ¿Underpowered? Like you would be offended by my comment. And the Fiat Punto has better engine than the Corsa, I don't know how is your Corsa and how is the Punto but being both well maintened, the Punto is faster, at least the MK1 and probably MK2, I haven't tested the Grande Punto
@@davidcasas3862 my apologies to you, I misunderstood your post 😁 you are right, the MK1 and MK2 Punto were excellent (I've had both) but I think the main problem with the 1.2 Grande Punto is the weight of the car. They made it bigger and considerably heavier, but did nothing with the engine. I still love it, but it's not as much fun as the MK1 or 2 😁
I have a 2001 3 cylinder corsa 60hp 90 000miles and runs perfectly. Oil on the front of the exhaust pipe coming from the rocker cover hgasket could be the cause of the smoke or the gasket around the oil pressure switch. Common faults, cheap and easy to fix.
I drive this car, 1.2 Silverline edition. I'm not really a car freak so it suffices. Nice little vehicle to get from A to B without hurting your budget. Fairly quick in traffic. Still holds itself on the highway too.
I guess driving this one is similar to my 2005 1.2 Clio. It's slow, but it's easy and cheap to maintain. And yeah, these small engines almost never break down, so that's a plus.
I've just got one with 240.000 km ,I suppose that if the last owner maintained it properly , it would be still good for the next 50.000/100.000km with , ofc, proper maintanance.
That is one hell of a rare car here in Denmark. They were way too expensive. People who wanted a Corsa took the 1.2 with more equipment like electric windows etc because it was only 500 euro more expensive as brand new back then. :)
I'll be honest, if i think the 1.2 75hp is slow, i can't imagine this one :') but the car itself is beautiful and comfortable for it's age. The 1.3 cdti and 1.7 dti versions are nice. I also kinda like the 1.4 comfort :)
I own a 1.4 Corsa with a 105hp using alcohol ir 99hp with gasoline. In Brazil the GM called the engine Econo.flex, but It hás média of consumption average 8/10km/l in city use.
So einen hatte ne Freundin auch von mir der lief sehr gut da war keine Kopfdichtung durch wie hier. Was wir denn immer durch genommen haben, der wurde von uns allen immer ordentlich getreten. Lief 180 ! 60ps
I got my 1.2 Sxi from brand new in 2005 and it's still going strong! it's at 59k atm and it's been very reliable, all it's ever needed is cv boots and batteries. Oil change every 12 months. The timing change needs chaning because it's got the rattle but I'm doing that myself next week :)
I drive this car with the 90 hp engine and top speed of 179 km/h. Even now days you can drive it in the normal traffic easily. Also driving on the highway is possible easily when driving 120 km/h or 130km/h. Even overtaking with 140 km/h or 150 km/h is possible when it doesn't take too long. P.S. I am living in Germany where is no speed limit in some sections of the highway.
I have the same car, but I removed its engine and replaced it with a Daewoo 1.5 petrol engine. It does not need to replace the gearbox. I am from Algeria, North Africa. The price of spare parts is very expensive, unfortunately.
Maybe it had 60 hp a few years ago . Now it sounds like my old 73 Chevy vega I had eons ago when it had only three of four spark plug wires working. I like this kind of stuff.
Mr black. Your channel is nicely , and I appreciate your perfectly video You had much different models drive, which one is you favorite? And which is worst? I get 35000euro right now, which’ a fit me, a young man?
I had a B Corsa with this engine, it was faster and lighter than this, in fact its good enough for city and B road driving, for over 110 km/h not so much. 3 cyl. engine has a character and its easy to keep the consumption under 5L when driving extra-urban routes, thats not bad from a 20+ yr old entry level petrol car. This specific car in the video definitely has some issues you can hear it on the engine sound.
Idk why but mine has different hedlights (the back ones are black and the front ones have 3 circles for each light) and the enterteiment system has integrated radio and AC. But i cant find anywere else a review of this model.. is it rare or something
I am still driving 1.2L 75hp 2004 Corsa. But it is leaking rain water in the servo section to the drivers footwell :/ Nobody wants to repair that, they want to charge me around 800€... Otherwise great car.
I enjoy this more than those expensive supercar povs lmao
