This is very true. Lonelyness and lossing everyone and everythiing is huge. First, my huband died. Two months later, my dog died. A year later, a car accident caused a severe TBI. Since then, I've lost all my friends. My family hasn't called me for a year to see if I'm even alive. I talk to no one and just stay home in bed depressed day after day. I truely wish the accident would have killed me.

27 year survivor here from a bad car wreck on 3/31/97... Was in the hospital for 26 days and Physical Therapy 18 months... I struggle with repeating myself, poor multitasking skills, poor short term memory etc... Post TBI I attempted and failed at several careers-( Special Education Teacher,Car Salesman,911 Radio Dispatcher) due to my TBI issues .. a combination of dealing with the TBI issues,PTSD issues and career failures led to increased depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts.... I now FINALLY have a somewhat decent quality of life... I FINALLY received SSDI-( Social Security Disability Income) after 15 years,4 appeals and 3 Attorneys... I now drive for a car dealership part time and build Model Cars as a hobby and these activities have brought meaning to my life,Helped me cope with my TBI and PTSD issues and improved my self esteem...

My Father recently suffered a tremendous brain bleed which left him paralyzed in his right arm and right leg. The neurosurgeon in the ICU at the hospital said my father would never be the same again after 76 years of life. His breathing was compromised and they would have to put his ventilator back in. We had to decide what would be the best option for my father so he would be at peace in life. We decided to not put him through another traumatic experience with the ventilator knowing his outcome would remain the same. I can just hear my father even though he could no longer talk to us, tell us, “ What the hell are you guys trying to do to me?” We decided hospice was the best way for our Dad to pass without being in pain. My Dad is resting in peace now in heaven with our God. I’ll miss him on earth forever and ever but understand that they’ll be a seat right next to him in heaven for eternity. No more suffering Dad, I love you so much.
