When I say “celeb besties,” you probably think of Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, or Oprah and Gayle! But famous friendships aren’t always that obvious. Sometimes, they’re downright surprising!
What if we told you Matthew McConaughey was besties with Guy Fieri? Or that Katy Perry and actress Allison Williams are close enough that Katy performed at Allison’s wedding? Florence Welch also sang at her friend Blake Lively’s wedding to Ryan Reynolds. And Beyonce and Jay-Z’s friendship with consciously uncoupled Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin is so strong, that Jay name-dropped the exes in a song.

Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez have been besties since 2008, so their friendship isn’t exactly surprising. But what was surprising was Selena’s recent admission that Taylor was her only friend in showbiz. This sparked major drama between Selena and her old friend and kidney donor, Francia Rasia.
