The fact that most if not everything is working makes it such a great experience. Sad how the bear minimum of the ride working properly is something that we don't see too often in other parks.
Yeah, Toyko Disney is owned by the Oriental Land Company, not Disney themselves, and the OLC does an incredible job running the parks. Not only are Imagineers given blank checks to do incredible things (Journey to the Center of the Earth for example), the parks are impeccably well maintained and ticket/food prices are actually quite cheap. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
@@isaacfortner The OLC is definitely on the right path to creating what feels like the 'proper' Disney atmosphere, everything there seems so creative and truly imaginative. Can't wait to check it out in person myself!
The MacGuffin of the Indiana Jones attraction in Japan is the Crystal Skull, and it was made before the movie “Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”. And probably the first time the Crystal Skull appeared in this franchise was in the novel “Indiana Jones and the Philosopher’s Stone”. The main MacGuffin of this novel is the Philosopher’s Stone, but in the usual opening sequence, he enters a Mayan temple to look for the Crystal Skull. It’s a very interesting work and I recommend it.
If you are a Disney fan by all means you can muster go to Tokyo Disney. It's light years better than the rest of the park and affordable if you plan it right.
The ticket prices are miles cheaper than the parks in the states and the food/merch is cheaper. Hotels and getting there is where you will probably struggle.
Even this indy is having issues, but nothing near as bad as in Disneyland. 1. The audio sound effect of the chamber of youth door opening has been very quiet for many years. 2. The green light for the smoke vortex isn't on. 3. The projections for the jeep headlights in the bug room are very burnt out except for the 2nd projector. 4. The cool electricty effect before we turn into the dark chamber is off with the audio effect. 6. The smoke effects for the Boulder don't work well like they used to. And in the queue with that emblem thing the blue light with the smoke isn't on, but I could have sworn that the light goes off with the sound on occasion. Other than those few issues this ride is still working especially compared to Disneyland's. Which is kind of sad to state because it has barely been a month since that recent refurb and the ride in Disneyland is already having horrible issues....
The big difference is that Disney has nothing to do with it outside of licensing the rides. Oriental Land Company handles everything in the park, and they put lots of care and attention into it.
I went on this 2 weeks ago and the boulder scene had a lot of smoke and the sun mirror thing was working perfectly. Other effects you mentioned were definitely faulty. I think it's been a while since this ride was refurbished. Hopefully it's scheduled for one soon
@@DarkDoge no, I meant the sun device in the queue. There's an area in the queue with a mysterious sun device and some sunlight that comes from holes near the ceiling go to the mirror occasionally and the reflected light starts smoking and points to stuff on the opposite wall. I don't know why that detail is not really talked about, because it's an interesting detail. Also, some creepy sound effects play.
The queue in Anaheim is immersive and gives us enough story to help set the scene. I need your guys’ help “decoding” this queue. From what I get we are either in an Aztec or Mayan temple and there are some feathered serpents.
I like the anaheim theme better maras cool concept and original but wish some of the effects here anaheim would kinda incorperate into it like the eye laser and the snake looks better here i feel w the glowing eyes and the lightning effects are def better in green in the chamber of doom doors
Elements of this are so much better than Anaheim. But I still prefer Anaheim over Tokyo’s Indy. I missed having any background music playing throughout the queue simile in Tokyo and I feel like it’s too silent throughout Tokyo’s Indy. I also prefer the red and orange color scheme in Temple of the Forbidden Eye to the cool tones in Tokyo. I do wish Anaheim never got it’s budget cut and got more sculptural elements 😩
Okay I have a question I've never been on this ride but I have riden the dinosaur at Disney world animal Kingdom. Is the speed the same I'm just saying because I don't like fast or roller coaster rides so I don't know if it's the same speeds or g forces as dinosaur ride?
A big part of it is probably because Disneyland is kinda stuck with what they can and can't do in terms of refurbishments/repairs. Disneyworld (until recently) had its own mini operating government within Florida that let them do whatever they wanted pretty much, and Tokyo DisneySea (as shown here) isn't even owned by Disney (they license out rides/properties). Disneyland has a very small amount of operating space and has to abide by California laws. Also Tokyo's licensing arrangement is pretty great, and even though all the main parks are axing Splash Mountain for Tiana's Bayou Adventure, the most Disney can do is ask if Tokyo DisneySea is willing to pretty please spend a ton of their own money to match the original parks' theming (which judging by their recent Splash Mountain event, seems like a no for now)
It's usually lit up to make it more obvious, but the light seems to be down. Hopefully a refurb is scheduled for the ride soon. The projectors in the bug scene are also a bit burnt out
Couldn’t you smooth the video? Even basic iPhones have it all built in now, pointless using a camera for this it’s so jerky to watch..terrible video quality
The effect at 2:43 is incredible. They should have added that when they refurbished the Anaheim one.
2:45 THAT WAS INSANE!!!! 10/10

OLC should run the US parks too.
That company truly knows quality or quantity, and not give people excuses.

I rode this yesterday and it's my favorite ride so far! I loved it so much that I had to go for a 2nd time 😂
Incredible dark ride
Really loved that fire effect.
The Tokyo rides seem to be better maintained than the US ones. In California there’s always something that’s not working
This is tied for the best ride I went on at TDS.
Amazing version! they only need to switch off the flashes and will be perfect!

@@idk-zt8rx the mirrors? Disney sea doesn't have that implemented. But in Disneyland that effect is disabled. It got turned off in 2012.

Wow. I saw at least 3 places where I liked this one more than the Anaheim version.
That huge fireball thing!
This ride looks on the level of rise of the resistance
This is easily the best ride at Disney sea no questions asked
Wow! Creepier than It’s californian sister ride!!!
i remember getting on this ride back in 97 or 98., im not sure if they updated it cause things look diff.
It's been a longtime. Haven't been on the ride for more than a decade.
Temple of the Crystal Skull is amazing!
I want to go to Japan!
I wished this Dark Ride would be in Disneyland Paris.......😶
I want to go there Awesome 😎
Superb❤
Just left the park and rode the ride 3 different days. There was definitely no swirling vortex!

It only goes 25 its hydraulics that make it move faster theres a vid of wirkers showing the ride and giving tours
Funny how they can get the fog on the ground and everything working in Tokyo but now in Anaheim

Speaking of which, have you ever heard of the Anaheim version’s refurbishment? I heard the rat log is gone.
Thank god. It was a horribly dated effect.

is this a roller coaster?or have a drop?
does this have a shop?
There is a small store outside the exit

There's a bit of a drop in the scene where the round rock rolls in
