  • In this video I explain why it is important to focus on answering interview questions that use the Competency and Values Framework (CVF) in as much detail as you can using the SAARL structure rather than focusing on 'learning the competencies.'
The CVF - it's not been nicknamed, ''the Wheel of Confusion,' for nothing!

I know this is old but damn is this a helpful video. Struggled with the CVF as a 10 year PC and head still in the old system on my last spec role interview so now a while later and looking at a transferee interview this helps heaps!

Brendan, thanks for this video. One question if I may, if the place that you had to attend in Northern Ireland was undisclosed, how did you find it? ;-)

I had my PC To PC transferee interview yesterday from South Wales police to Devon and Cornwall police and think I failed miserably.
I’d like to think I completed a lot of research into the CVF and research into my competencies yet the questions which were posed were not relatable to what I had prepared.
I can’t believe some of the questions that I was asked as I felt the questions were aimed at PS level. If I am unsuccessful how can I improve as I feel drained, I spent so much time and effort for nothing esstenially
