I just got off the phone with Stan. It was a pleasure talking to him about my fruit tree needs. He was a great help in deciding what would work for this new resident of eastern Tennessee regarding growing cold hardy citrus in a temperate climate. Stan s passion for and love of growing cold hardy citrus trees sure comes shining through in his videos. Folks interested in growing off the beaten path citrus and other unusual fruit trees have a reliable guide in Stan. Thanks a million,Stan.

I’m from East Tennessee as well. Was planning on calling Stan today or tomorrow trying to get a specific lime tree. My key lime tree is actively blooming for the first time as we speak. Also was going to ask him about that. Glad to hear he’s helpful!

Wow! During the holidays, Spanish folks use bitter orange to season their meat. This is good that we can grow. Better orange here.
I found about your citrus from the Millennial Gardner. And yes I went by your place in April2024. I got a few.
    Thank you for the tips

I bought 2 owari satsuma trees from Stan about 10 years ago, and they are still growing here in north georgia. They are planted in the ground in my unheated greenhouse. I also have a Citrangequat tree out in the open that got burnt a few winters back, but seems to be doing a lot better now. Additionally I have 20+ of the poncirus trees, and Stan is right, these are pretty much impervious to cold. The fruit isn't very edible but still a fun plant.

Well Done, at about 4300 ft in elevation, have a selection, but now want some citrus. I plant in plastic drums, which keeps the squirrels off of them, and a bit warmer in the winter. We usually get two weeks that goes down to about 20 degrees. So far the peaches and figs are my biggest producers.
So will call and see about the Owari Satsuma and the Nagami Kumquat, or what ever you recommend.

I'd love to get a Brown Satsuma plant. However, there's not much selections of citrus varities in Hawaii. Mainly, because of Hawaii's very struct agricultural import restrictions. I checked it the CCPP for Brown Slate Satsuma budwood. No luck.
You should make a video on your process of making various citrus grafts.
