At last I am really feeling bad for the topper girl who had really studied hard than her friend got less marks than her friend who didn't study that much.
Maybe the girl who studied less studied more productively than the other girl. In the end what matters is quality over quantity. Also small things like expressing your knowledge matter a lot in examinations the smart girl might know more but she may not know how to express it properly.

My Best Friend is a topper, and she encourages me to study even when I am not in the mood to study. We both got good marks and helps each other in our homeworks 😃
Speaking out of personal experience this friendship does not work for long. They will be with you just to reap the benefits and exploit you.
