Cedar of Lebanon are notoriously difficult to create bonsai from so well done guys, just needs time, looks like you are working together a lot more which is fantastic, you can bounce ideas off each other.
Hey thats a good point! It can indeed expose the underlying wood and make it more susceptible to infections/rot. However, when done properly and with care, the risk of infection can be minimized. It's crucial to ensure that the tree is healthy and vigorous before creating a Jin. Healthy trees are better able to resist infections and recover from wounds. If a tree is already stressed or weakened, it may be best to postpone creating a Jin until the tree is in better condition. One year later I will apply some Lime Sulphur to the deadwood to whiten and preserve it 😀
Hey! Air layering is primarily used for propagating plants and establishing new bonsai, but it doesn't directly influence flowering. A way to encourage flowering on young flowering fruit trees like apple bonsai is through grafting. By grafting branches from a flowering variety onto your bonsai tree, you can introduce the potential for flowering on the new branches. 😊🌸🌳
Hey thanks for your feedback! 😊 I know this one is not to everyones taste but as an experiment I like it. Of course it can be removed in the future if it is not wanted
I can understand where you are coming from! When working on Bonsai, especially for a first styling, the tree can look worse before it looks better! But with time and more work year by year, the tree will look better 🤗
"Now this doesn't hurt the tree"
Proceed to ripped it in half 💀💀
It looks good, but you shouldn't have ripped the trunk in half like that because it looks unbalanced now.
I can see where you are coming from! I think this polarising tree is one of personal taste 😄
@notionbonsai that is very true indeed. Keep up the good work, though. I enjoy your videos

Hey Joe! Thanks very much! We worked on this one last year 🤗 I will have an update repot on this tree coming soon!
Wouldn't stripping the bark like that allow infections?

Looks like a random twig found on the ground. Congratulations I guess?
Try keeping that random twig alive for the next 50 years. Cheers
Anyway good luck to you and we’ll all congratulate you when you’ve done something useful like make a graph on a virtual computer system
