I’ve just recently started getting really into fragrances and watching fragrance review videos and the way you describe fragrances is perfect to me. Many of the fragrances you’ve reviewed in this video have me in a chokehold and i need them asap! But i know i have take it slow since i’ve just started getting into fragrances. I agree with you, you need to spray middle Eastern fragrances a bit sometimes before they are actually pleasant. I don't know why, but the atomisers make the fragrance plasticky to begin in general.
    I find it weird that any middle Eastern fragrance is marketed to male or female because traditionally fragrances were unisex from that area.

    • @headless.scents
      @headless.scents  Год назад +1

      Hi Claire! 🤗 Yes, you're right! Initially majority of perfumes were unisex, but now it seems they are now starting delineating, quite frankly I think it's just for marketing perhaps to appeal to a more international audience? I have a hard time paying attention to "categories" life is to short for that! 😂
      I appreciate you taking the time to be here! Also, I'm about to re watch your new video, I love empty videos! 🤗💛🤗

    Wow sis the bottles are so pretty, your shirt too. I think need more experience in fragrances to be able to wear these perfumes. they can be heavy but I like the gourmandish perfumes that you mentioned.

    Spraying out the straw DOES WORK. I think the UAE producers prime the straw with some type of lubricant for the automizer. If you spray it on your finger the very first pump it has a thick greasy feel. After 5 sprays it is down to the perfume. I think many people are buying Middle East fragrances, tearing into the box and spraying themselves with pump lubricant and then complaining the scent did not smell nice. Just a theory I have had since I first discovered the 'spray out the straw' technique.

    Jazzab Gold isn't a dupe of Lancome -Tresor La Nuit (TLN), but just like Afnan-Modest Deux Pour Femme it's in the same vibe. I think AaZ and Afnan were inspired by it, used it as a template, but not with the intention to clone.
    To me Modest Deux is a (red) fruitier, softer, perhaps even more elegant variety of TLN and Jazzab Gold (they have a lot of notes in common too if you can find the correct ones: not on Fragantica) is a slightly creamier version with a yellow fruit accord. Imho they're both yearround fragrances, unlike TLN which is too heavy for that. However, as someone who resides in the rainier, colder part of Europe I have to add to that, that Jazzab Gold especially performs much better when temps rise. If you're in a humid, warm climate, or your summers are always very hot (Greece f.e) then it *isn't* yearround imho. But depending on your skin chemistry it can still easily be worn in 20 degrees and the Afnan too.
    While writing this, I see the Afnan Modest Deux in the background, so I'm interested to know if you recognise this description (of course your skin chemistry might pull different notes). Anyway, thought it could be useful for your followers.
    Thank you for this video, I finally have a few new wishlister fragrances again! It seems we definitely have a huge overlap in perfume taste (alas my skin hates 99,99% of oudh containing fragrances - synthetic and real - and oudh mimicking ones with Cedar and leather/spice, so sadly that takes out a major part of the Middle Eastern options 😢).

    Hi! The pronociation of oud is 3oud, it starts with the letter ع not alif أ. It’s written عود in Arabic.

      Hi Erica! 🤗 I don't edit any of my videos, to keep it as a unfiltered conversation, like you'd have with a friend on a couch. Editing would alter that experience I think. I do list in the description box below the scents listed in order of mention. This was an older video, so I've tried to improve on clearly showing bottles and speaking more clearly. Also, if you're ever in doubt or unsure, you can just ask and I'll clarify! I really appreciate you being here and the encouragement 🤗🌹💛🌹

      Awee! That sucks 😣 yes it's always better to be cautious when you have doubts. I have used Amazon (based in usa) before a few times - (only from sellers with mostly positive ratings of service) and have had good experiences luckily, but I've also heard lots of bad stuff too.
      I hope you're able to find it in a place you're comfortable buying from, it really is such a pretty perfume.
      Matter of fact, your comment just inspired me to pull it out and wear it this weekend, it's been a long while!
      I appreciate you taking the time to be here and sharing your thoughts, it means a lot 🌹🤗💛
