Chemical Engineering Capstone Project - Spring 2024

Mizzou Engineering students think about how they can solve real-world problems before they step outside the classroom and into their careers.
It’s part of the Missouri Method, where students engage in learning by doing. That practice begins with hands-on opportunities in lab courses and undergraduate research and culminates with senior capstone classes. These classes allow students to apply what they have learned as undergraduates to develop solutions to the world’s problems.
Chemical engineering students complete the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Student Design Competition prompt, which this semester was to design a power-to-gas facility. One group's resulting system was more economical than some other energy storage systems because they sourced hydrogen from renewable sources and CO2 from other industrial sources.
