Long time i always installed Jbl speakers in my old cars, but this time i decided to install Focal on rear of my car and immediatly i realize the diference of quality of the sound.Jbl is good but Focal gives another level that you dont have in ordinary speakers.
I bought these from crutchfield last year. These tweeters were marketed as "silk aluminum". At first, I thought the tweeter sounded well enough...but with time, the plastic sound in the highs really annoyed me. I then realized that "silk aluminum" isn't a thing. It's mylar. It's a cheap mylar tweeter. I contacted Crutchfield about their mis-marketing. They cited Focal, as that was the factory language. Crutchfield later changed their website though...so at least I was an agent for change in truthful advertising. I could have taken them all out and returned them...but it's just a freaking hassle. So I just kept them. The whole experience did rob me of enjoyment and contentment from the system I installed. Very annoyed at their marketing misinformation. I felt lied to...
@BappaOnyumbe One simply cannot EQ their way out of cheap components. If you actually believe this, then you've never really experienced quality components.
I’m loving my Focal Flax Evo series. They are a great upgrade from the Morels I had, which IMO are junk overpriced speakers, especially the CDM 700 midranges which gave off some weird resonance sounds. Focal is certainly superior.
Really? I’m cross shopping Morel Tempo Ultra to Focal Auditor Evo, Auditor, and Integrated. I personally have always had Focal and love them to death, my favorite speakers ever were my Focal Flax Performance series or whatever they were called. But they don’t make any that fit in my current car…Feel free to give me some feedback!
Focal and morel are amongst the best car speakers. But each have several tiers. Make sure u are comparing similar tiers when comparing brands. I have morel carbon pro 93a 3 way component.
@@jm-vq4cm I have the Focal Flax 3 way 6.5 for the fronts and the cheaper 6x9 auditor series for the rear. All are getting 100 Watts RMS, which is a little over their RMS rating, but it’s been a few years now and they still sing amazingly. They’ve been amazing speakers.
The kicker that was in there was ok but that sounds quite a bit more full..even through the headphones the midbass attack is better, highs are crisper,brighter...hope Haley loves it
Even with the YT compression, it still sounded really good via headphones. Very impressive for a low power system. Too bad there aren't any mics that can do sub demos justice. I also don't think smoking the sub voice coils is part of the normal "break in" process. 🤣
Listening through the RUclips compression and all, I think it sounds a bit tinny. Otherwise, the rest if it sounds decent for an entry level Focal system.
I just installed the auditor rse 165 the woofers are great even setting the ranger to 70hz still bumps hard the only thing I didn’t like are the tweeters don’t seem to get that loud kind of like an annoying high pitch whisper. These vocals are better than my massive audio component which everyone always ask where I’m hiding my subs because those speakers bump but these are even better minus the tweets.
I just installed the focal auditor rse165 the cage on it made it horrible to install a lot of cutting spacer and adapter rings to make them fit. The woofers sound great but I disagree with you all on the tweeters. They are very low on the sound you just hear it like whispering high pitch sound.
Doubtful, it's that all these brands don't manufactur everything in house, they buy private label.....meaning there's some cheap manufacturer in another country and they come out with a product then sell it to all the brands with branded for them. A LOT of 'high end' brands do private label, especially for their mid and lower tier products, and mark it up like 5x.
For the focal they are labeled and the pins for the woofer and tweeters are different can’t mix them up since tweeter connections are smaller. If they are not focal in the components they are usually labeled woofer and tweeter.
I can’t tell if your being sarcastic? Is Focal a good speaker? I’m a little behind on car stereos

Hi Dean, after watching your video, I made my mind to buy the ASE 165 components. If is not to much for asking... About the tweeters... Could you tell me how did you separated the cup from the speaker? Thanks in advance! You do great reviews videos btw!! Saludos desde Guadalajara, México!
Hey Dan, so I have a 18 accord ex-l that has the premium sound but obviously not so premium lol says 450w amp but who knows. So the question is should I just replace all the speakers with focal since they are amplified or replace that with the axxcess dsp and do a 4 channel? I was gonna use the focal access
this was already ready for wiring under the seat. why do a new build if they didn't know if they were gonna like it? they do plenty of installs in the trunk.
🤦🏻♂️ Why does the amp need to be in the trunk???? Instead of wiring all the way to the trunk for power and signal and then wiring all the way back to the front with speaker wire, you cut everything in half and the amp is completely out of the way under the seat..... Is this what you want because that's all you know how to do?😆
I don't put them under the seat only because I live in a state where heat from under seats is wanted from rear seat riders seven to eight months a year. May over heat the amplifier. Yeah it might be fine but I feel safer with them away from excess heat.
I had the pleasure of meeting Paul Dean and Fernando today very humble and down to earth ppl thx for the hospitality

yea.. they sounded very accurate and clean!
The woofers remind me a lot of good ole MB Quart. 🏆🎖🏅🥇

Is it the focal fx? How much power are you feeding them?

Honest review for a budget minded system.
Haley enjoy them! I've had many of the old version auditors... you should definitely enjoy these for some time to come
I have auditor in my car front and rear also. I like them a lot. I have a rockford P600x4 on them.
Man they sound solid
Wait, what happened at the end with the sub? Awesome car lab !!!
Like said in the movie. The Mask, "smokin" nice and broke in !!! Sweet up grade!! Fellers!!
The kicker that was in there was ok but that sounds quite a bit more full..even through the headphones the midbass attack is better, highs are crisper,brighter...hope Haley loves it
Typically Focal s are bright guys , so are these !
Focal is great sound
I love that you totally smoking that sub lol
Focal has a video of the factory making they’re high end tweeters it’s freaking nuts
Focal is awesome 😎😎
How would you say these compare to the moral Maximo 6.5’s?
I like the threaded hole wishing that was on all of there tweeters
Can you SMEEEEELLLLLL what 5Star is cookin’!!! 17:18
I don't watch television.....I watch Five Star.
50w RMS for the RSE-165 seems a bit high at $150. Perhaps the output is still as high as other brands at 100w?
Even with the YT compression, it still sounded really good via headphones. Very impressive for a low power system.

Looks like Focal is sourcing subs from Rockville.

Would 75 watts each be too much for these?
Hi master, i want to buy a set but I am between the focal access 165 as and the focal auditor ase165. Which one would you recommend? Thnks!!
Does it has subwoofer or just the focal auditor ?
Do those focals have good mid bass????

Did the subwoofer blow out???
So that’s an aftermarket head unit?
Focal tank top on at this point
what head unit is that? looking to upgrade my jvc head unit and add maestro rr
a) did you blow that sub?
b) i love Focal. ive had 2 focal cars, until....
Morells
That focal sub looks a lot like the jl subs I have. Are focal and jl audio made by the same company?
The trim ring looks the the w3 and w0.
@@Sql253 I have the two jl 10inch w0's and the trim ring looks just like the one on this focal sub.

Let the smoke out of the wires!
Mornin, boys
this for budget or morel maximo 6's? just want decent midbass. or say screw it and get the morel ultra 602 mkii's?
Morels.... Hands down!
I have the tempo ultra 692's MKII and they sound pretty amazing. They also take 150wrms per side.
Sub looks good
Very JL ish
how do i connect the cross overs,
For the focal they are labeled and the pins for the woofer and tweeters are different can’t mix them up since tweeter connections are smaller. If they are not focal in the components they are usually labeled woofer and tweeter.
Smokin’!
Subwoofer has same outer trim ring as jl w3v2

Probably late but those tweeter cups twist a little bit then come apart.
@@charles-ih7zp is never late. I figured it out but thank you for taking your time to respond. Take care!
Congrats to Hailey! Can't believe those are uner $200. Did you guys Fry that woofer🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

i have same amplif. just for subwoofer. and i live in france:)) for me not so expensive
So lucky.
The amplifier looks like it was made by boss
he i like jour videos and specily focal greatings from belguim from rachid
Focal budget system?.....yeah right
Tweeters are 😖. I like silk.
Williams Dorothy Lopez Daniel Hall Mary
you ask if it sounded fun I would hope it sounded like focal not fun haha
Smoking Hot ! Lol
