  • In Back Country Rescue we follow the team of volunteers who make up the Search & Rescue for the Grand Tetons including the infamous and very dangerous, world famous Jackson Hole. Watch as the team are the first responders to lost hikers, stranded skiers and snowboarders and out of control snowmobilers!
    Episode 4:
    In this episode of Back Country Rescue the team must rescue a snowmobiler with a broken leg deep in the back country of Jackson Hole. To reach the young man in time the team must utilize the helicopter, their horses and snowmobiles to get into the back country and pull the injured snowmobiler out!

    I want to say love the show and thank you for your dedication to helping those who have made wrong choices. I clearly would not risk my life to help stupid but that is me. I'm personally not a risk taker again thank you

      Seriously, this looked like a bunch of peoples first time ever doing anything remotely close to this...... Tough to watch(i didn't finish)

      Where I live, the flathead county in Montana, our search and rescue has about 60 trained volunteers that consists of trained divers, climbers, riggers, paramedics, backcountry rescue, etc. We also have 2 helicopters, one of them being a bell 429 equipped with FLIR and a hoist. In fact that helicopter often gets dispatched to Washington and Idaho for specific operations.
      It is all publicly funded of course and it is taken very seriously around here because of the vastness of the area (5,256 square miles and only about 6% of that is developed).

      @Scott Alexander its a shame we cant afford to pay these REAL HEROES. maybe if we werent spending a trillion a year on war, but what can we do? killing people is more profitable than saving them
