1999 Bayou Classic and 2003 Bayou Classic are still the best bayou classic games.

The 2014 one was a great one. I went to the 2017 Bayou Classic that had a small Southern Comeback but Gambling won.

I couldn’t believe that wide receiver from Grambling dropped a wide open touchdown opportunity on 4th down that was the turning point in my opinion

I remember this game. I was there live in the flesh. Worst feeling in the world watching us blow that big lead. The thing I remember most is the way it sounded when southern was scoring in the second half. You couldn't hear yourself talk. Still...it was a great game. Pete was just a great Coach and motivator.

It hurt because I left at halftime to teach a Bible Study and when I came back. Saw Southern won!

@@w1hines Bruh!! We CLOWNED su at halftime. Had the dome roaring. Everything was pointing towards a Grambling "sweep". And then Scottie dropped that pass.....☹

This would be the only HBCU game on network tv when I was growing up in MS. I remember watching because Southern to me had the coolest uniforms and Pete Richardson was unique because of his glasses. lol.

Scottie Anderson didn't help his team. He played like trash. The Refs helped Southern with that fumble. That was a fumble. High School cornerbacks play better than Grambling corners and safeties.

Those officials helped Southern in the end. No pass interference and that was a fumble. When it was shown in slow motion on tv it was a fumble. He was losing the ball before he was hit. Today, the call would have been reversed.
