Because I've seen this movie several times and I don't remember anything about it at first, the fifth Regent ship crashed in China after colliding with a satellite, they show this happening, at no point is it shown or said that the ship was shot down by any type of defense, and also, their reason for attacking the military bases and the highway was most likely an attempt to eliminate in one fell swoop anything that could pose any level of threat to their operation, possibly driven by desperation

I think the regent should of seen the size difference between the destroyers and Missouri the Missouri has way more armour hence why it wasn’t a instant death once those pegs hit her but about that turret blowing up and not blowing the ships rear in half severe plot armour
not really, since the Missouri was low on shells there wasn't much to cookoff, hence why the damage was minimal. this was even mentioned when they were getting the ship ready before the confrontation. so less plot armor & more realistically how it would go given the ships precondition / the logical outcome low fuel + low ammo = minimal explosion & minimal damage. all that charge did was blow a few shells, causing a small fire & disabling the turret.
You got the regent motherships dialogue wrong cause in the movie they attacked other places cause they were planning to invade. Nothing they did was in self defense.
Let's be honest, it's not like those alien grenades would've hit anyway if all the guns were operable. They wouldn't have been able to navigate the wall of autocannon and AA rounds.
Depends on how many is fired if it rapid fires like they do sometimes in the movie then some of em will hit but if the ship is covered in CWIS then maybe not

this scene is cool and all, but aside from the anchor magic, thats not how reloading works, way too fast and that hit to the turret absolutely blew the magazines and the whole ship

You will break a warship with clubhauling. Tiny sailboats can only do this cause it’s hollow and lighter
