I always wanted some big ass Cerwins as a teenager in the 80s but even here in America they were way out of my price range so I built some. Enjoy your Cerwins!!!
In Norway these are cheap and easy to get. Im supriced how rare they are elsewhere and how many are looking for years to get a pair of Cerwin-vega 😮 Just got a pair of VE-12 for 150 dollar.
What a pity. I guess having something like that shipped from Europe or the states would be quite expensive as well. Not to mention the risk with big speakers that old.
I’ve heard of Cerwin Vega talked/referred to about for years but have never actually seen a pair myself personally. They’re almost like a myth. But I don’t go out much so maybe it’s just me, unfortunately.
of course sound can be improved on these CV,but then they will cost like klipsh cornwall iv or more on retail market better cabinet damping, better crossover parts like film caps, air coils, better resistors.Better midrange driver and tweeter and you might end up with high end sound. Now they built for young people who likes bassy, punchy loud house shaking sound:)
Like you said they are marketed for kids who do not know better and are easily entertained with a red surround and music was it sounds good or not. Trust me spend the extra money and get a quality speaker instead of these crappy CV. The only good ones they made were in the 70s
Nicly done - That's exactly the content I was looking for. I know, most older CV's aren't known for precise Quality, but I had much fun in reverse-engineering some Cabinets on my own. Here in Germany they are also 1. very expensive and 2. Many Models top hard to get... Ex.: Have buyed a pair of MV-15 and MV-15B a few years ago and ripped them apart while taking many Pics. (Also had original plans for the crossovers and so on) Actually the crossovers will be built up like the Original but with complete new Intertechnik-Parts and the Enclosures will be made out of MPX 18mm + Flying Attachments. Maybe in a few years even this project will be done 100% - But nowadays it's somewhere at 40% completed. If someone wants to know more about it, simply Message me :)
@@robcoa there's a difference in sound and look - the B-Model is a bit clearer and has a bit more bass, the LF-Driver is a bit better and the crossover is better designed (boards instead of strings of components soldered together)
These are the first Chinese manufactured Cerwin Vega home audio speakers. The Cerwin Vega LS-12 speakers were the last made in the USA from the ground up. I have a pair of the LS-12's and they sound so much better in every aspect....
@@TheTechGuyYT The problem is though that basket has been around for 25 years, you can get them all day for very little money....well not in Australia i guess probably. But there is no r&d cost to it, the crossover.....eesh.... Its basic as it gets. The mids and tweet are run of the mill China made. Now, dont get me wrong, ive been a CV fan for many years, and while certainly never a "high end" brand, they are nothing like the gear of old. And certainly not worth the cost. Im afraid that Gibson is just coasting profit off the name alone....but theyd be fools not too.
I do agree . I also own D7’s they do have a very similar sound but the VE lacks the build quality , but in today’s age that sums up pretty much most brands
2 in vc, cast aluminum, 36oz magnet, 7lb structure
I Love Cerwin Vega! The best speakers! Great video thank you. 👍
I totally agree, only speakers I own, in the home, and in my vehicle
Nice to see videos about Cerwin Vega that not "extreme Bass House shaking test" or something like that. Nice job bro!
That’s why I made the video , So everyone could see what’s inside 😊

I have the VE-15'S and I absolutely love em!!
the ve12's rock!
the ve15's kick ass!
Damn that sub magnet is so small😂 imagine the speakers with a propper amp tho😮
I believe the woofer basket is made from cast aluminum not cast iron 😂
Its definately aluminium
Good video make more video.s of cerwin vega look on facebook there is a group cerwin vega world :)
they play great rock !!!!!
You should try to get your hands on the DC-series 1515 or 1215mk2. Those are legendary CV speakers
Oh I am . But they are next to impossible to find in Australia
What a pity. I guess having something like that shipped from Europe or the states would be quite expensive as well. Not to mention the risk with big speakers that old.
Very very expensive but you never know I might find a pair
@@TheTechGuyYT A few years ago I had a pair of DC 1515.
I regret that I sold them!
Here in Germany you sometimes find them, but they are rare.
I just got a set of the ve 12's for 200$ 😊

do you still have the mv-15's?
@@robcoa
Of course :)
Sadly Not finished until yet, but 2x MV-15 and 2x MV-15B are waiting for new enclosures in my Basement
@@19XD88 nice, i have mv-15's myself and was wondering if there is a difference in sound and looks on the mv-15B's

88cm/25.4 comes to 34.6 inches
2" voice coil I believe.
The woofer looks nice. But that midrange looks like a crappy one, just like a generic speaker. The tweeter doesn't look that great too.
I’m 17 and I own 4 cva 121 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I paid £235 for a pair of these!
Amiga 2500?
Vietnam 600usd, product old
How did you wait 20 years when they are from 2007?
Well these aren't the exact ones. But to have cerwin 3 way floorstanders
These are from 2012.
Woofer voice coil size?
you can get these for $350
Not in Australia lol
Oh yeah where you getting them for 350?

Worst speakers I've ever owned. Nothing but the cheapest, dirtiest junk I've ever spent money on.
Cheap. There is nothing expensive about that speaker except the price tag.
The use of cast iron for speaker baskets is a lot more expensive then stamped steel . But I already said that in the video
