- Every week, Eco India brings you stories that inspire to build a cleaner, greener and better tomorrow. Our top story this week looks at the Miyawaki technique, a Japanese afforestation method named after its developer botanist Akira Miyawaki, and how creating dense man-made plantations using this technique can improve the local ecosystems and bring back the lost native species.

I live in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu in a place called Vadavalli which is at the outskirts of the city. When I first bought my home here there were no trees and it used to get extremely hot and dusty during summers so I started planting trees around my house and in the neighboring empty land. 9 years later every space surrounding my house is covered in trees and vegetation and I can feel the difference as my home is much cooler than before and I don't get dust allergies anymore. Trees are truly a gift by mother Earth!
Great job. Hope your neighbours get inspired and follow the same.
HeavyLikesSandwich Well done sir.
@HeavyLikesSandwich Great!
Super
True..my place too..we have planted trees to deter the dust and smoke from vehicles
Eco India should be shown in every school in India for conservation of nature.
Not only schools , even the parents should be.
Every school in the world I'm an american we need more trees however I think food trees should be included in the mix
Agree
@Hayden Massalsky I would love to see Australia covered in trees I know it's mostly dessert there I wonder however if more trees would help with all the water problems there I seen the fires it has made me so sad especially the people that keep saying you need less trees to protect property's from being destroyed
@@ddsmile8087 they said names of native medicinal and spice trees as well. Fruit trees are included for fauna to thrive.
I love these eco stories.
This technique can help in reducing desertification which is a growing concern in India.
Thanks for the information

yes and then you just mix plant cellulose with sand. and then the sand becomes moist. and then you can green the desert with any luck
And the world
This is fantastic and great to see, we are trying to do the same in the UK through the same principles. I hope this scheme has fantastic success in India
Let us know, if you require any help :)
We really need more such oasis in this ever expanding concrete desert.

I live in kodinar, gujrat.we have few trees in our angan.every monsoon my parents insist on cutting down trees and cover the floor with pavement tiles, but i always protest no to chop down trees,i love my native trees.
Come to kerala , each gram panchayat is going for this method
Yes come in moplah for genocide also and missionaries for conversion and hating religion and culture on the name of secularism
Are they? I don't know , but some people are aware of planting trees, preserving nature , yes that helps. On gods grace kerala still have its greenery.

Best channel ever.. watched every video of yours.. thank u so much ... for inspiring us..
How can I be volunteer for these Wonderful NGOs
i also want to volunteer but have no idea how to
Plant trees near your house , tell your friends to plant , that's enough . You don't need to be a part of NGOs.
Your channel deserves 10m subscribers..
@AminFromRUclips but it is improving slowly and steadily as viewers are getting more mature

We need it
We need eco India.
I've been watching many of these videos on the innovations India has been putting in place to improve conditions there, also the clean up efforts to reduce pollution and bring back lakes and beaches. Once they fix the land problems, the heat problems, the pollution problems, the infestructure problems, next if they would begin to love and care for their women, I men really care for them. If the women would in turn really do the same. If they all would begin to really love their children, fiercely protect them, and hold them in high esteem as their most precious assets, things in India would begin to start healing in many ways. India would have more of a fighting chance to end corruption, end drug use, end the sex trade, and end pedophilia, end the slavery, end the caste system. They've always had the tools to do it. Do you know how old India is? It's so old that most of the neighboring asian countries got the building blocks of how to manage their societies from india. If india went back to their ancient governing principles then they would essentially be poised to returning to being a paradise on earth. Once they turn away from European/ western ways, and re-adopt their own ways, while mixing in ONLY the modern things that work for India, their would be no stopping them.
What about exploding population??? For me, it's the primary problem.
@@aditisk99 you are correct but that's a problems for many countries.
A very good effort indeed. The man who took up the task of growing trees there needs to be loved and honoured. This model needs to be replicated in other places also. Big companies should take up similar projects as part of their CSR and should also finance such initiatives by NGOs.
Excellent. This is very inspiring
Great effort , kudos to the effort of this team.
Wow...thanks @SCROLL for bringing such stories

Liked the concept. But surely we can't bring back that natural existing biodiversity which lasted about 100 years . More stress should be given for saving our old rainforests and rejuvenating them
I think this method can help in doing the same. U heard the man Nature's taking its course. Birds are transporting seeds from other forests to these forests. Meaning the existing biodiversity is being revived. Although Interestingly I think we only need to abandon a place and nature will eventually take its course bringing back life to the place.
@@alkaarora3305 in the same way v need to protect the existing rain fotests like western ghats. It's like india's lungs. We shud not b ignorant about the massive destruction happening here . Since I'm from Karnataka we ppl are witnessing it. Like the drastic climate changes .

Nice idea I agree to you op
Just go on in net and search miyawaki method. If you have less money than go for conventional plantation methods.

Me too I have vry small quantity of land bt I want plant so many trees over there
nice
I also want to start this ASAP am in last year of my college life

Nice video..... Even more ironic is that a South Indian is reviving green space around Mumbai.... What happened to the Sena's Marathi manoos?

8:25 That is a Giant African Snail. It is an exotic species, not native to India. It is one of the most damaging snails in the world because it consumes at least 500 types of plants and can cause structural damage to plaster and stucco structures. This snail can also carry a parasitic nematode that can lead to meningitis in humans. One of the most damaging snails in the world. If you find it,you can take it home and make an enclosure for it(search on google how to make its enclosure)and can keep it as a pet.
no media show this as this dont create trp and money
Most people don't care about matters other than their own.
@@IbraKhalid_1 But they very much care about Hindu-Muslim and mandir masjid issues. India needs a Renaissance today.
I would like to volunteer are any plans are going on in delhi aswell?
Could have planted jack fruits, mangoes, cashew etc
in this urban forest we have planted around 35 species including fruits.
This technique should be applied in Delhi
Soon we are coming up with some mega projects in DelhiNCR
Bring back morning fix
How do you prevent city humans from crowding these urban forests to extinction?
Morning fix??
