Thanks for stopping by, If you have time you can check out my new range of Eggs here ➡️ bensworx.etsy.com
The egg looked super realistic, the little bumpy texture you got after spray coating made the thing look like a psychedelic dinosaur egg!
Love your channel, your art and your demeanor. You're like Bob Ross on a lathe.
Collect the powder, process it again and lathe it into something smaller, rinse and repeat until no more powder is left.
Oh the spray finish was a great choice! With the texture on the egg it really almost looks like a real egg!
I can’t speak for everyone but I really am enjoying the videos more now that you and your wife are working together you don’t see it much anymore I just like she cares to do what you love to do and I’m sure she enjoys the time spent with you as well as RUclips can take up a lot of your time
Thanks Luke 😊
it sort of looks like plaster so I'm not surprised that you found it hard and produced a lot of dust - just like I'd expect if you turned plaster.
I like the air marks in the egg. They add character to it! The egg turned out really cool! I didn't think it was going to work. I'm glad it did!! ☺️💜
Thanks Mel 😊
Great work and nice results. The colours remind me of a rainbow Paddle Pop
Yeah or a Bubble o Bill 😊
That looks like a big candy egg. It would definitely make a great Easter decoration. Such beautiful colors!
That colour mixture turned out really cool. I think you could make some pretty neat vases with that product
Looks like an Easter bath bomb! 😂 really cool idea can’t wait to see what else you make with it.
Loved it!! I cannot wait for the cotton candy ostrich to hatch!! I think this material opens the door for many many projects. And if there is something you certainly don't lack, is imagination! So I will be expecting the next project. Btw, my 4yo son loves your videos. He's always going "daddy, can we watch resin videos?" xD
I like the name Cotton Candy Egg. When I seen the blank in the last video I was thinking it looked like cotton candy. While you were turning it, it almost looked like you were turning chalk, and I have to admit I kept waiting for it to kinda explode or crumble kinda like I think chalk would, but in the end it came out pretty cool. 👍👍👍
Thanks Gary, yeah I was waiting too, I was surprised it didn’t
You said “Jawbreaker” and that’s all I could see after that. Beautiful project Ben! Love the result!
You could make some beautiful flower pots out of these!
Also, if you put it on a vibrating base while it's curing next time, a lot of the air pockets would probably come up!
That turned out amazing!!
That egg looks like it's made from Sweet Tarts. I love those!
It would be cool to make a blank with the white base spinning on a potters wheel at a slow constant speed. The color(s) would then be injected into the white while it's spinning. The plunger device would have a long tube so that you could start injecting at the base and slowly pull the device up as it spins.
I am glad you posted this video. I ordered some a week ago and I'm waiting for it to arrive. I have since seen a couple of posts saying that they had used it and it had broken on the thinner pieces of their pours. Looks like it is pretty tough when it is poured thick. I think I will use it in my bigger moulds.
That was absolutely beautiful, but I wish u would have made a vase out of it, I think that would have been awesome, and it's always nice to have your wife Nicole help u, maybe next time, a flower vase, lol😊
I was thinking of cotton candy when you picked those colors. Looks like we were on the same page!
The name for your project really fits. Great job 👍
I like the colours a lot. I’m interested to see what it might look like polished too. I can’t remember if the dishes were polished, I’ll have to pop back see
With the air pockets, I feel the name fits perfectly and it still looks very cool even with the air pocket holes
Even with the air bubbles, it looks nice and colorful ❤❤
Hats off for finishing this one! Sooo much powder lol i wanted to cough just watching😂 never mind the clean up 🧹 Good job!
It so cool looking. Great job
Thanks Stacey 😊
Turned out pretty neat!!
There's lots of potential for this product. I think a vase would be great. Plus if food safe cups bowls and plates.
Nice turning.
It play tricks on me visually. While I know it’s super hard it almost looks like sidewalk chalk.
Neat!
Wow looks like a real egg!!
Thanks Mate 😊
EGG-ceptional Ben! Love the colors and the finish! Another great project!
Thanks Linda 😊
Well that’s a beautiful ‘doorstop’!👍☺️
I love it! It looks like a big Easter egg. ❤
That came out nice, Ben! Great job!
Thanks Mike
It would be interesting to see how it polishes up but I think for sure spraying or doing a gel coat is the way to go with this stuff, it doesn’t have the most reflective surface.
Great Easter Egg
Display
If it was a sphere, it would look like a planet from a science fiction story. Fun!
Very nice looking egg, Ben. I thought you all called cotton candy, candy floss. Maybe that's the Brits.
That was a surprising success. With all that porousity, I'm wondering if you could get a starry sky sort of effect with black/dark purple/blue dyes and then filling in the air pockets at the end with gold epoxy.
Now the dust has settled we can see the great final result ❤
Love it.
Woodturn some custom tool handles?
That is great, you would make a great art teacher. So cool.
Kind of reminds me of sandstone, really enjoy watching the your videos. Keep up the awesome job. 😎👍
It’s giving such 90’s colour vibes
Love the egg, really pretty.
I reckon earth colours and you’ll have stone or clay looking intrigue.
An enormous outside carved stone looking water fountain urn type thing?
Ok. This turned out great! Love the cotton candy name. So what is easier to clean up, the powder or the resin streams? I thought the pitting looked fine. Maybe mix different shades of yellows, do the stirring again to get the pits and make it round. The Cheese Moon! 😅 Thanks for sharing.
Hope it turns nice🤩💥
Cotton candy ostrich egg! Lol.
This is pretty cool. I you handed that to me and asked me to guess, I'd probably never guess it was a form of resin.
It looks like someone graffitied G9 on the side of it 👍🏼 great work mate
The air pockets make it look like real stones I’ve seen
Seeing as your waste is coming off as powder, I would think you could set up a vacuum and it would catch a lot of it as you cat into it.
Beautiful ❤it!
Wonder if the powder you scraped off can be activated again?
Can this product be put in the pressure pot to help with the air pockets? I know pot cam would be super boring and the working time is very small. Just wondering!
Ben do another one but turn it into a jawbreaker lol
Pretty soon you're going to have to change your channel's name to "Ben and Nicole's Worx" (I'm sorry if I spelled your name wrong!)
I'd still be watching whatever they made!
I think you got Ben's name right 😂
Ben's Worx and Wife
@@Chaos_SenpaiWife Worx w/ Ben lol.
Hey Ben. Nice project. I know it would be a pain to collect but do you think you could collect the powder from the lathework and reuse it for more projects?
Hmmm. How cool would dyed resin mixed with Sawdust look? If you had enough sawdust in the resin I assume it would turn and sand like wood but with the ability to be any color of the rainbow.
If you do this again, maybe put a coat of regular clear resin to fill to holes.
Looks like eggshell!!
Is this like jesmonite, or resin Crete? It came out beautifully. They sent wax in my box of resincrete
I think so
That egg is thicc so it reminds me of the music video for all about that bass by Meghan Trainor. I hope you try making a vase with the plaster resin stuff!
That really is alot of powder
Please say the smiley face with the crooked nose at 1:00 was deliberate!
hello, nice ideas.. you cans do better if you having mix color with a smaller rod, lique a BBQ rod. And i have also a question/idea for you: Remember you have done 3 moths before this YTvideo called "What Happens if you POP a Water Balloon in Hot Resin ? " And i poped a idea: Why not use AIr instead Water? you can put some weights with a wery fine and trasparend nylon to prevent the air ballon going upwards.
Could you use the dust and remix that into the resin or would it not cure?
How well does the stuff hold up in a pressure pot to remove air pockets?
Very pretty.
Thanks Lynn 😊
If you put the it in the vacuum chamber, do you think you could get rid of those bubbles? Nice job.
I think this stuff would look really good in a filigree mould... maybe then fill the gaps to look like stained glass....
If you make another one with air holes, why not fill the holes with bright red resin and then sand it again. Shiny red beads in blue and pink egg would look mad.
I wonder if you would get better results by turning it while its still green?
If unicorn's came from eggs...this would be it!!🤣😂🤣😂
Is that resin smooth or does it have a rough or chalky feel? It looks cool and it kinda looks like a chalk egg before the finish
I hope this doesnt hurt your equipment, but can you mix concrete powder into resin? And how will it turn?
Could you let it cure under a vacuum to get rid of those little air pockets?
It's like trying to turn plaster of paris. Now is the discarded dust able to be reactivated with the part b
If the "Jazz" disposable cup design from the 90s were an Egg
I like it alot ❤😊🎉
Chess set would be pretty cool 😊
The whole time I was thinking it looked like cotton candy, so naming it "The cotton candy egg" fits.
I wonder if you could've put it in the degassing chamber to get the air out or if it would've set up too fast. 🤔
Looks like a dino egg from a cartoon like ice age or something.
How bad was the clean up?
Hey Ben. How did you work out your weights ratio for the eco resin. I bought some but cant work out how much of each I need to make 100 grams. it says on the container 2.5: 1 ratio. It is doing my head in. lol I asked on the resin group and get different answers.
I can get you to 105 grams fairly easy, so the ratio is 2.5 to 1 so basically that’s 25 grams to 10 grams and if you times 25 x 3 it equals 75 and if you times 10 x 3 you get 30 so….. 75 grams of powder and 30 grams of liquid = total 105 grams, I hope this helps
Thank you. @@BensWorx
I think I prefer resin. It looks great but the sheer dust and mess it would make in the workshop would deter me from using this material on a lathe..even with a respirator, it would worry me
Something about it before turning, it reminded me of plaster.
It looks like sidewalk chalk.
Its a shame there were so many holes in it, but its still an interesting project! And it making so much dust means its messier than those resin ribbons and threads. At least you can recast the resins ribbons, lol.
Reminds me of sidewalk chalk
Almost looked like it was made of candy, perhaps the inner layers of a jawbreaker.
looks like a colorful dino egg
Time to let Nicole have a go at the laith. It would be fun to watch.
Paint them with clear resin
OKAY, guys, you need to stop dying the egg fossils. Lol
Seriously, the air pockets make it much more stone like.
👍
😅I would make a vase
