The 2023 Monaco Grand Prix featured an older chassis spec on the cars. Charles Leclerc would fill Lance Stroll's grid position after he was DQ'd for annoying the stewards with his punctuality. A chaotic first lap saw Charles Leclerc and Charles Leclerc having an incident which took out several Ferraris. The race was red flagged, and on the restart Charles Leclerc dove down the inside of Charles Leclerc, giving him the position but nearly taking them both out of contention. Charles Leclerc, who had started on pole, fell to the back of the pack after a poor pitstop, giving Leclerc the lead. The dying laps of the race saw Leclerc overtake Leclerc at the Grand Hotel Hairpin, who would go on to finish 2nd with Leclerc finishing 3rd. The race would be won by Michael Waltrip in his second ever F1 victory, coming just a week after his maiden win at the Ligma Grand Prix.
