She wouldn’t care less about the food she’d care about getting crossed and start thinking of ways to get back. It’s not that Nicole and jecka have swapped personalities it’s that they have different motives

I thought the pilot was okay. Got me to chuckle a bunch. I still prefer the art style of the "anime short" but the pilot's art style is fine. Half of the episode felt unfocused/like a family guy episode. It needed more of a hook/something more crazy like the anime short had. I guess if there are episodes in the future I would like you to review them.

Me personally, it was aight. Paced like a barely coherent sentence, but still hits the same notes the OG games did. Yeah, the animation is a little... shaky, but the thing with pilots is mostly that its selling the premise, not necesaarily the animation, although that varies dependent on who they're attempting to appeal to. So in a sense, it being the way it is, was to be expected. I feel this is something that could flourish with studio funding, if it gets it that is, as there are some glimmers here and there, held back by a lack of budget. We will see though.

A theory is that Class of 09 for each episodes, they all have events of plot A, B and C etc combine together as each episode, like any kind of events combined together to form an episode, hence pacing can be random and not consistent.
I think it was good. It definitely has its flaws but still good in my opinion, i still think that old art style they used for that short anime video was better. New art style is good but i prefer the old one more.
I think the quality of the animation is all over the place like how do you make banging against the vending machine look so good but you can’t animate a walk cycle properly ? Or maybe the best animations are at the first half and then at the middle the quality dropped
Am I the only one who genuinely didn’t like it at all? They tried cramming way too much stuff from the game in there, and it felt more like a montage with no plot. Also I hated the soundtrack. Maybe I’m being too much of a hater. I’m glad a lot of people like it and hopefully they are able to get more funding to make more so it can become a decent series with an actual plot.

I like the art style of the anime! and of course the voice acting is peak. The animation was not bad as well, much better than the short. I love how Jeffrey is animated haha. Like Jecka was acting differently than she usually does in the games. I think a good pilot would've been Nicole trying to mess with someone like Jeffrey or Crispin for mildly annoying her meanwhile Jecka can still boycott Hot Topic, but probably in a more "Jecka" way like talking trash about it but not doing anything about it. I can see her doing the Jeffrey thing though, but the balloon thing was way too cartoony and more effort than Jecka would do. But yeah Nicole should've been the active hater and Jecka is the one that tries to make Nicole do the right thing. I also didn't like how they don't change outfits. I mean, fair, especially with keeping them in plainer clothes than 2000s graphic tees, but you really notice it. Especially with Ari wearing jean shorts to bed.
I liked the pilot, i think it was milder than i expected but i think as the pilot and kickstarter, they're trying to show its potential mostly and where it could go with the proper budget. I hope that if they really take off, episodes can be longer and with more depth since the Jecka chipotle thing was a funny and entertaining plot point. The sub plots could use work so more people can be included, like i felt Kelly, Emily, and Nicole could have had more a role but maybe they focused on Jecka since Flipside the last title also focused on her. Overall it was nice and i loved the pacing, and how it can easily go into an actual season based anime with a plot and multiple seasons. Really want to see Crispin and Kylar too xD
4:00 I personally don't have this problem with the games but I see a lot of people express a similar sentiment that it just looks weird or uncanny. I think it's mainly due to the anime cartoonish style sprites of the characters while the backgrounds are pretty clearly real photos just blurred to fit in as a background; and that obviously doesn't really contrast well with the characters over the top anime/cartoon style, that and also the weird blend with late 2000's aesthetic.

It's not like fans of the series went in expecting a polished and cohesive piece of media - especially after the fiasco of flipside - but i can see why it has mixed reviews. This felt more like a compilation of events rather than having a coherent plot that'd introduce the world and cast of 09 that pilots tend to do. But i think whoever wrote this went in assuming people have seen the games and threw slice of life segments tame enough to garner attention. It helps that the og voice cast were still kept bc, honestly, the main thing carrying the series IS the voice work. Shock value aside, this reminded me of episodic shows that follow a lucky star sort of formula but none of the punchlines land. Best of luck to the studio working on this, though, they're gonna have a rough time adapting anything from this series without digging their heels into its controversial topics
@@RaiiXii a pilot is not really a first episode although most of the time it is its more of a test episode to see if enough people like it or if any investors will pick it up first example sponge-bob’s first episode was a pilot if it wasn’t popular we wouldn’t have gotten more episodes so basically if this pilot doesn’t do well or not picked up by a streaming platform there’s no guarantee for new episodes hope this helps 👍
