As a Xbox gamer mostly, I never gave a f about exclusivity. I just got it because that’s what we had as a kid and I fell in love with Halo and Gears of war. But I recognize those franchises as dead and I know each company only cares about money so I only care about fun
me too. But I don't trust either of them since they started adding ugly npcs in games. They are losing interest to PC as a platform.
As much as I hate MicroSoft, I hate Sony as well. Sony having no competition is a bad for all gamers.

Xbox actually dead. But not because the sony. The day they say "all xbox games will be woke now", it's dead for me. I only play xbox360 games, old arcades and fightings like dead or alive or breakers revenge, baynetta, MGR, ninja gaiden.
Since last time i only buy Wanted:dead and Armored core 6. But, all of new games is a fable 4. I don't want it.

They weren't trying to do anything of the sort with Helldivers. That games success a has been a complete surprise. Secondly if anything Sony has no control in any way and any how on PC the way it has with console and never can, not matter what they do. They will be small cog in that ocean. Only Microsoft has the capability as to determining the direction by way of the OS. Specifically because 97% of gamers (according to Steam) are using Windows to game (a high mark considering only 83% of all PCs are Windows) And secondly Steam can be a determinant in a sense for being dominant player in selling content. And this isn't even considering the real power and growth is mobile of which Sony has no say at any level. Plus, PC gamers are a fickle bunch. Look how PC gamers are reacting negatively to Sony now requiring a PSN account in addition to Steam account to play Helldivers 2.
Plus, until Sony can bring their first-party studio content day and date Sony has still not changed its ways with respect to how it handles gaming and still continues to be a console only company. Secondly Helldivers is just popular at the moment, it won't' be for long (Sony may have actually started that end of popularity by their recent PSN account requirement). And how is Sony getting Xbox under their thumbs? None of this has to do with Sony with respect to MS decisions on content to PS or their console movement. Only control Sony would have is if they were bringing content to Xbox.
The truth of the matter Sony (financially) needs to worry about Sony getting around many issues they have in the lack of growth in consoles and issues of where they were going to head the division and now have changed that direction. The consequences of that change in this gen will continue to be causing issues to any plans for the rest of this gen and into next (i.e. GAAS, PSVR2, dramatic increase in costs). The fact is Sony is down millions in sales of consoles compared to last gen, drop in adoption of software and services, and increase in expenses with lower profits even with higher revenue. So the only one, at the moment, not seeing a drop this gen (Ie. sales and growth) from last gen is Nintendo. Besides you seem to be relying on false rumors with respect to how Microsoft is moving with their content, not reality of what they have planned and stated.
It's very obvious what is happening, the future is cloud gaming and consoles will be made obsolete by technology, they are planning for this future by getting as many subscribers as possible as early as possible.

@@kaphsiel Usually comes with a complete version / directors cut. Plus you skip a lot of the beta testing console players have to do at initial release. Unless its a bad port, thus restarting the beta test cycle.

I think so to but it won't be Halo or Forza. That isn't happening. I also see Sony as well bringing games to competitor platforms. And it won't just be day and date to PC but Xbox and Nintendo as well. There are several obvious reasons why. Doing so make makes far more sense for Sony then Microsoft because of the too Sony 100% depends on gaming, and it needs to grow gaming to keep the net-income growing.
For number one and most obvious reason is Sony has no growth potential in consoles. PS5 was once ahead of the PS4 gen numbers (7% ahead by the third year) but now the PS5 is well behind in millions of sales. Best case scenario the PS5 will end this gen with les sales but not too far behind. Additionally, gaming/software is costing Sony more to make. Plus, added to that is the fact software and service adoption numbers are down compared to the PS4 gen.
Number two Sony is losing money (or at least well down in profits because of growing expenses) Despite revenue of $25 billion they only realized 6% (that is disastrous). It is only going to get worse if they don't react more forcefully in their actions.
Number three the industry has changed. MS saw this change happening early and has transformed to a multi-endpoint ecosystem. Sony is now seeing it as casuals (who now start to invest in the gen) are not flocking to PS5 at the rate they did the PS4 at this period. And that is because how this group consumes is growingly different. Many of the casuals consume on mobile (the most likely) and or PC. These casual depend to be more mobile gamers. N
Number four from an accounting move it makes sense to get the most money from wherever you can with IP and as such Ken Yoshida Sony CEO) put in charge of SIE after firing Ryan the head accountant of all Sony. Hiroki Titoki the COO/CFO of Sony with no gaming experience is now CE of SIE. It only makes sense for two reasons, one to slash expenses and to seek greater income wherever that may be. The later is already as not impossible on PS with lower PS5 vs PS4 console sales. So naturally you seek that growth no matter the situation (i.e on Xbox, Nintendo and PC)
Xbox is starting to get PS games as well, predator hunting grounds is coming to series x alongside a new PS5 version, more rumors keep swirling around about HD2 also, kind of exciting things coming hopefully, maybe everyone is testing the waters to see how they sell going multiplatform 🤞

As consoles become a Monopoly, they are also turning Personal Computers into a monopoly. Its called your Motherboard and Graphic Cards Supports. In the old days, when you buy a PC game, it runs in most PCs regardless of brand chips. Nowadays, certain games will only run on certain models so you are forced to upgrade to those systems. Basically, making some games exclusive based on the configuration of your PCs. Its a scam.

Exclusives are important since they are the main reason why playstations and switches sell ..people buy them cause they dont offer consumers any other options to play their games...xbox on the other offers gamers plenty of ways to play their games day one.. hence why xbox has the lowest sales... but if xbox games also game to playstation with no playstation games also coming to xbox then xbox would just die completely as a console and that would just be stupid for Microsoft to do

I play PC and old school consoles, but i honestly didn't know Xbox players and Sony players were still "fighting", i thought that shit ended in 2009.

As I keep saying, Microsoft didn't buy all of those PS5 dev kits to port only 4 games. A lot more are coming. No one should be surprised when Indiana Jones and Blade are announced for PS5 since Microsoft needs to pay Disney for the licenses on those games, so those games need to sell a lot of copies to make money.
The only way that wouldn't kill xbox is if spiderman and wolverine would also be coming to xbox.. giving those away while sony magically keeps both those games exclusive would be a death sentence for xbox... fact is its sony who isn't making money currently

I have an Xbox One x and the PS5. I spend more money and time on the PS5. Got a PS4 Pro 2017 decided then i liked their Exclusives more. Thats why i bought the PS5. Series S wasn't even a consideration.

Xbox has no games and yet they’re begging for Xbox games. But then cry when PS exclusives comes to pc.
Xbox has always been in third place with console sales. They are not giving up, they are planning for a future without consoles and they will be ahead if the game in ten years time. Then when cloud gamingis more relevant than consoles Xbox will make their games exclusive to Gamepass, then everyone invested in their games will now have to get Gamepass to keep playing them.
I can tell you this much. Game pass in some form will definitely come to PlayStation. It might not be game pass itself however in some type of form it will in the future come. That or big games that were exclusive to xbox will come to PS. Its no doubt at all. Id be super surprised if otherwise.

The only way Gamepass comes to Playstation is if it's attached to PS Plus somehow. Sony won't allow it as its own thing because it'll eat into their own subscription model. However, if Sony can make money on it, and PS gamers get COD for free, it'll be a win for both companies AND gamers.
