UPDATE: The fuel inertia button shut-off switch should have been on this list. An inertia switch shuts off all fuel when there has been an accident but may have malfunctioned.
@Hvac_Mechanic, I have a 93 ford 4.9L straight six, it sat for 3 years with low fuel in both tanks, fast forward now, 2023, I have to shoot carb cleaner for it to run on that, which is more likely, bad fuel selector dash switch, 2. rail mounted selector switch, 3. fuel filter as you mentioned? 4. FPR as you mentioned? 5. Fuel PUMPS, yes I said 2 pumps it has midship and aft tanks, 19 gallon midships, and 17 gallon aft tanks, front tank has a 2 second pump prime sound, rear none that I could hear like before, I just find it hard to believe I have 2 pumps out, I left my ford Ranger 2.5 4 cyl 2001 next to this 93 sitting with stale 3 yr old ethanol regular in it and a battery tender, it fired right up, so I find it hard to believe the fuel in the F-150 varnished at a different rate and is a dead fuel problem, I mean, I added 2 gallons fresh to the midship tank that did not help. I am going to test baseline pressure with a fuel rail gauge soon! your thoughts?
Fill them both with new Gas, see if they kick on. You won't hear it prime if the level is too low. If both pumps work, check for fuel pressure at the fuel rail. If you have pressure, the issue is injectors or ecu, if you don't have pressure, change the filter and try to clean out the fuel lines. Mine was also clogged from rubber deterioratng @@randylee2549
None of these seem to apply or are integrated into the New Fuel Pump I installed and still somehow am not getting any Fuel to the engine which I am now at a complete loss to what else To do... BUT GREAT LAMEN PRESENTATION THAT WE NON- MECHANICS CAN FOLLOW AND UNDERSTAND WITHOUT GETTING TO DEEP INTO THE WEEDS WITH (ohm and power numbers @ number ? Circuit, PCM etc) which looks like is what I am gonna need now lol... 👍👍 For a great Video though thanks, Was still a great help! Tells me I'm at least on the right path
I am having this probelm on my 00 mountaineer. I checked all of those thing you mentioned. great video. IIt got me busy. But how about the interia switch or the ignition switch (besides realys and fuses).
I just put in a new fuel pump in today for my 93 F150, the weird thing is, I can hear the fuel pump whining trying to run, but it's not pushing any fuel out of it. I even put a clear hose on the output side, and I'm not seeing anything. Either either the fuel pump is sitting too hard down on the fuel sock or the fuel pump is bad? I don't think it's any kind of voltage issue.
@@bosshogg.mechanic.services here's what happened for me, I only had 3 gallons of gas in the new tank. I found out later I had to put at least 5 to 6 gallons in there. Once I did that everything started up fine.
Have a 04 buick Rainier cxl. replaxed the fuel pump. Tried it but no gas coming out the lines from the tank. Is this normal? Fuel pump is running. Man is to stubborn to listen to me. Did not try to start it. Guess I'm looking for suggestions
I checked the pressure after the fuel filter and had 90 PSI replaced the regulator and I'm still getting no pressure at the fuel rail could I have a stuck wide open fuel injector? vehicle idles and starts fine but hesitates The fuel line to the rail from the filter is new by the way. It's a 94 ford explorer 4.0.
99 ranger 4.0. truck turns over on the first crank, so there is obviously pressure. but when I tried to read my fuel pressure from the schrader valve, it was reading no fuel pressure, engine on and engine off. Would I just need to replace the schrader valve, or what else should I check for? Thanks In advance
I replaced a new diesel pump in the tank,an connectet all it didnt start. Same problem, but no start. I did turn the key many times on and off to build pressure, but didnt want to start.
My 2002 wouldn't crank, replaced starter, it started right up, ran 10 minutes. Now, cranks but won't start! Replaced fuel pump and filter. Checked relay/ fuses. Crank relay switched out but no crank again. So switched it back. It's back to cranking but no start. Now water in oil cap and on oil stick. but car has sit for 2 mths. No water in oil before car stopped running so how would head blow? Had blocked plugged in, no antifreeze since car won't start. Could water in block got to hot when temperatures outside got 60 degrees and blown head????
Check air leak in manifold, or around there maybe. I just know my buddy had a filler bolt missing from an aftermarket intake manifold and it would start and turn right back off. Also same thing happened to my Audi when the pump was going bad I believe the filter was clogged though aswell
I installed the new fuel pump and the pressure regulator But when I disconnected the vacuum line from the pressure regulator and accelerated . Pressure it wasn’t increased . Thanks why ?.
My full filter is in tank within the fuel pump itself. I have no leak or he. But my issue is intermittent. Whe. It happens I have to punch the gas to keep going
So i had 60psi at the engine ive replaced the fuel filter now i get none, when i start the emgine it runs like crap but on 30psi pressure, soon as i turn off the engine it drops to 0 pressure??
I have a 2003 Trailblazer it cranks good and it starts and then it shuts right off I replace the fuel regulator and the filter and the pump is running good
Yeah my Silverado 2003 doing same like will start then shuts right off I’ve never had any issues with it before letting it sit for a month where would you start ? I’m not a mechanic lol
I have a 98 nissan frontier 2.4.installed a pressure guege in place of filter because of po300 code it's throwing. At first when engine first starts up it's about 25 28 psi but after I run down the road and it warms up it barely runs and the Guage is from o to maybe 10. Just replaced fuel pump. The Guage won't read any pressure w new pump but will crank and run ragged and end up cutting off within amin or so won't hardly take any gas pedal, still has the miss or skip it's had all along but runs worse now. Any help would be much appreciated
If the pump is good and the filter is not the issue, I would lean toward a contaminant, such as rust, in the fuel tank. I have had three older 90s Nissans that sat for a year or so and had rust in the tank. I would definitely run a filter.
Five causes more like three fuel filter plugged backwards that's one problem different versions fuel lines plug leaking that's two versions one problem anybody know some other ones?
basic fuses and relays, could be the immobilizer for certain cars, they shut off fuel until the key code is recognized if not itll just crank and crank but wont spark since fuels cut

Thank you! Very helpful.
this is so helpful. my 1993 geo metro has rust in the gas tank, so i think the fuel lines may be clogged. thanks for the video!
I am having this probelm on my 00 mountaineer. I checked all of those thing you mentioned. great video. IIt got me busy. But how about the interia switch or the ignition switch (besides realys and fuses).
If it was the ignition switch I believe the rail would still get pressure , your intake manifold would prob smell like gasoline too
Great advice thanks
Very helpful.. now I have a good idea on wat to chk
Thanks
Have a 01 super crew f150 replaced fuel pump and fuel pump relay and fuel pressure regulator no fuel pressure won't run?
Inertia switch, button should be down

I just had the same problem tonight brand new fuel pump and nothing

I had the same issue on a 93’ F150. Turned out all it needed was a fuel filter .
Prime the fuel pump before turning it on.

It ran out of gas so what could be the problem
Air in the gas line, try bleeding it
You got a clogged line from the trash running it out of gas
@@michaeltingle78Might have happened to me too. Investigating now
@ mine was fuel pump
good day all i am having a problem with my t4 2.5 after fitting a new diesel pump doesn't want to supply diesel to the injectors
i have a 2002 avalanche and replaced fuel filter battery altanator and mass flow censor and it still wont stay running after it starts? plz help
Security mode? Runs for 1-3 seconds the dies?
How much pressure is it supposed to have? Can’t find this info anywhere
Depends on your car, but usually it's around 3 bar. Some newer cars run higher pressure but for most cars it should be around 3 bar
Ls 5.3 around 55-60psi
What causes my petrol pump to push petrol thru the breathing hole next to the positive terminal on my vw polo classic 6n AFV engine?
Fuel pump is working but no fire to the pump...any answers would help
Faulty check valve or small hole in fuel lines
Got power to the pump?
Bad relay?

can i fix the fuel line line with steel stick for a bend on the fuel rail
I replaced a new diesel pump in the tank,an connectet all it didnt start. Same problem, but no start. I did turn the key many times on and off to build pressure, but didnt want to start.
Get a helper and spray start fluid into the air intake until it starts. It likely needs primed
you missed one, my vacuum pressure isn't the best, no vacuuum leaks , got any ideas, possible intake pleum gasket bad??

A leak internal to the fuel tank and not enough fuel in tank are possible reasons as well.
My fuel pump is ok,but Suzuki escudo h20a engine starts and immediately stalls.

@HVAC_Mechanic ok thank you
Thanks king 🤴🏿 🙏🏿 😌 ❤
Up on my gas tank where I connected the hose at on notice I have a very small leak camaro will run if i give it gas but will soon die
Some thing coused my fuel line to split between the fuel pump and regulator,I'm thinking regulator valve is completely stopped up
Try checking the PCM
My Suzuki escudo h20a v6 engine cranks, picks and immediately cuts.
