I usually run the drill in reverse for a few turns before unchucking. After a few you'll get the feel for how much to reverse to avoid the spring back. If you do it right, the twisted wire will come out of the drill and not untwist at all. This is coming from 15 years in the car audio and security world and tens thousands of twisted wires.
Thank you for this, especially the tip about spring back. I’m gonna do this to the signal wires of the maf on my car, plus shield and ground the shield. Idk if it’s all the extra radio waves now that was giving making it read erratic but twisting and shielding worked in my temporary fix i did.
Hey man excellent video this really helped me out, just some advice it'd be nice to see multiple different ways to secure the wire that you're twisting. Depending on the equipment, or extra sets of hands the different variations of securing the opposite end you're twisting down.
If you run the wire between your fingers as you did before releasing from the drill chuck with maintained tension (wire taut), a few times from end to end... then the wire will form straight. Of course, slowly release. It should not tangle up.

Can't wait for giving it a try!
It appears to save me lots of time...

Great tip for my jewelry wire. Thanks.
Cool thanks! Been looking for techniques to apply to jewelry making!
Good to know. Thanks!
More vídeos please!
Works for speaker wire great
Very helpful, just what I was looking for. Can I ask what you attached the unseen ends of the wire to? Thanks!
A vice works best.
I tried it with silicone covered 16 gauge and had snapback every time.
What is wire length reduction after twisting? If I want 10 feet twisted wire how to know length of wire before twisting
How are you fixing the wire to the tension point?
Thanks for the great tip! I hope i don't forget
Here’s a reminder for ya in case ya forgot
@@cr4bee Thanks! Thankfully this is one that has stuck with me, and i regularly use it on my electrical projects!

Can someone come up with a drill hack to cross grade 2 or more wires to end up with cylindrical mesh, that would be great...
Is that safe to do? Like no issues? I like the look. Looks cleaner but don’t want to cause any issues. I’m sure over twisting could be problematic
MOPARGuy Well you can't be stupid about it, it's not any different than driving a car or snorting cocaine. Just pay attention and don't fuck it up.
@@TempoDrift1480 I like the way you think.
Why did I google this after twisting 2m by hand. Took forever
Can I do 4 at a time or only 2!!
As much as a drill can fit
How would you make 200 ft though, that is my goal.
