Faxing Berlin, Jaded, and Not Exactly were pivotal tracks that pushed deadmau5’s career forward. The “deadmau5 pluck” sound used in these tracks was widely imitated by many Progressive Trance and Progressive House producers, a trend that continued until around 2010. However, deadmau5 himself quickly moved away from producing tracks in this style and went on to produce masterpieces like Strobe. His experimental and innovative creative mind is truly remarkable.
Those three tracks are literally my favorite of his entire works. I think you're absolutely on the mark here. I am digging some of his new stuff like Sever but it is so insane to have this rereleased. I don't say I miss this style, I think he operated in this space just long enough not to become stale and as you said, evolved into incredible tracks like Strobe. Well said!

Just saw him at Red Rocks this past Friday. Best concert I’ve ever been to in my life. As a Colombian that lives in Texas, I’ve been to some epic concerts. But nothing compared to seeing Deadmau5 at RR playing this song and so many other bangers. And as a DJ that got into his music back in 07, and dj’ing by 2011…Deadmau5 has shaped chapters in my life. I remember as a kid i’d close my eyes while listening to Deadmau5 and pretend I was vibing in a neon club. Unfortunately I grew up and found out club music is nothing like this
In 07', so many of us young and aspiring producers were trying to figure out exactly how the f*** deadmau5 got the plucks sounding that good. Years later, we'd find out he'd been a private beta tester for D-Cam's "Synth Squad" trio of VST synth plugins. Cypher, Amber, and Strobe were the 3 synths. Forward the clock about 15 years later, I'm sound design lead at a keyboard company, running a website for synth presets, feeling very grateful for the motivation the Mau5 gave me. RUclips wasn't as informative back in 07, so Deadmau5's sound in particular motivated me to a near obsessive level, and that, spread out across a decade, lead me to become a sound designer for synths. His music was a huge inspiration. Jaded was the spark of it all. This is a long shot, but in case Joel sees this... I would love you to do a breakdown video comparison. Showcasing this track and the original, emphasizing the improvements you made. You can clearly hear the sound has gotten sharper, and more discernable in the mix. I think it would be a great case study for how to master a track, because there are so little differences between this and the original, although clearly improved. It would be very helpful for me, but also helpful for people looking to improve their own music. Joel, if you see this, I love you and thank you.
