From Sultan Kudarat, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. proceeds to General Santos City on 10 May 2024 to continue providing assistance to identified farmers, fisherfolk and families who have been greatly affected by the El Niño phenomenon in Region 12 or SOCCSKSARGEN (South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat and Sarangani).
The President leads the distribution of cash assistance worth PhP10,000 each to 30 beneficiaries from the Region, as well as PhP10 million to the City Government of General Santos, PhP50 million to the Provincial Government of South Cotabato and PhP50 million to the Provincial Government of Sarangani.
Apart from President Marcos Jr., several government agencies are on hand to distribute various aid, such as cash assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), livelihood toolkits and allowance from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and five (5) kilos of rice to each beneficiary from the Office of House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez.
