Further physical definition.
This means reading 0.9 cm letters at 6 meters.
The letters are 5 minutes of arc.
The separation of the letters is 1 minute of arc. (White space.)
That measures the best expected visual acuity for the normal eye ...
With a positive refractive state.

Mam , why snellen chart is performed at 6metres or 20 feets? Why not other distances

6/6 is the boundary.
Behind 6 meter is considered as distance vision.
And less then 6/6 is the near vision.
6/6 is the boundary and the light Ray's are coming from infinity easily focus on the retina in less then 6/6

Manish as ma’am said 1 min is the angle sub tended by each segment of the letter and each letter is having 5 segments so finally the total angle is 5 mins by each letter

No, Mininum angle of resolution/Minimum resolvable angle (MAR) is 1 minutes of arc. MAR is a way of writing Visual acuity in terms of resolution. 6/6 makes angle 5 minutes of arc at nodal point..... I AM SO SORRY, I ALSO GOT CONFUSED

Vision less than 3/60 is called as social blindness. Less than 1/60 is called as manifest blindness and can't count fingers as economic blindness. Absolute blindness is no perception of light . Hope you got it
