Great job Jason, as always! You demonstrate the attributes of the Line 6 Helix effects in easy to understand terms that allow the rest of us to explore each effect in the Line 6 Helix a little more deeper.
Today I pulled up the Helix Shimmer and compared it to the shimmer in my Ventris. It was just as good, in fact a little easier to dial in right out of the box. If Line 6 keeps it up and adds a reverse reverb, my Ventris may be looking for a new home!
Reverse reverb is the bees!!!

I can't stand Shimmer, but I can't wait to try it out for the octave down option, and see if I can approximate the Dark Mode on a Slö pedal...

Very cool! I guess you could put a volume pedal after the shimmer on a parallel route to swell your shimmer as desired when you're playing without swelling the guitar too. Run the dry signal through a spring on your dry route...

Hi Jason, thanks so much for all the videos you've produced over the years! I have a really basic question about how you work with the Helix: when you're building a tone, where do you start with the guitar controls, and what's the reasoning? Really appreciate your insight.
If I may give my two pennies worth - where would YOU start with the guitar controls if you just plugged into a traditional amp with a bunch of FX?
Hi , i tried Helix Native in my DAW and sound was worse than Yours.Much worse. I play bass and use EHX Canyon and shimmer is superb. What You think, is the Helix Floor beter then Helix Native? Maybye it is in inpput. Can somebody answer it ? Thank You.

I don't get the hype, it sounds like a crazy 80s pitch shifter being swelled in.
I think it is big in the Worship music industry.

You're not wrong! But, that's.... how a shimmer sounds? Even high-end plugins or pedals are fundamentally the same. Heck, use any pitch shift into a reverb and it's similar. The motion, damping, and filters let you tone down that cheesy sound.
@@philf4086 Yes, those WorshipHeads love shimmer and light shows. Its quite strange.
