Great question. Adding sand to sealcoat makes sense when you have a paddle agitation tank otherwise you would damage the pump if it is centrifugal. Asphalt that is very porous still has a lot of traction on it but newer surfaces or those that have been sealcoated over and over again could use sand for the traction and durability. You’ll want to use one of our paddle agitation tanks for this at www.asphaltkingdom.com/sealcoat-sprayer.html
Hello Danny! Thanks for the question! The sealer is ready to use as DOT spec'd product, however you could dilute an additional 10-20% and still maintain a commercial quality spec. Please let us know if you have any other questions. You can visit our sealer shop at www.asphaltkingdom.com/supply-store/asphalt-sealer.html
Danny Willis depending on your sealer many ripoffs sell sealer already premixed 50/50. . If your sealer is like Mud then its the straite Dope get another open top Drum with locking lid. And this will give you 25 gallons of pure sealer in both drumps add 25 gallons to each drum with water . Gives you 100 gallons .. if you have a oil base sealer used dirty laquer thinner . If you add Gas in a year or so your sealer you put down may scale like fish scales ..
Asphalt Kingdom if you not getting a water base sealer you can cut 50% with water .. its already been cut your paying full price for the dope thats already been watered down 50% . 40 years ive has experience with all sorts of jokers in this business .. and seen much . In face 40 years ago there was no such thing as a crack kettle a buddy and I took a old 50 gallon roofing kettle and created one using CSSIH and reground tire rubber melting it down , for some of the first crack rubbers. Werked pretty good .
thank you for the free course, very useful for me as a prospective road construction contractor from Indonesia
Thank you for the comment and glad it was helpful!
Another great video on sealcoating from the folks at Asphalt Kingdom. Thanks guys. Louis R
Thanks for the comment! Glad you enjoyed it 🙌
Really interesting!
Do we have to transfer the sealer into a tank or can we directly spray from the drums?
Great question! We do have a drum sprayer available at www.asphaltkingdom.com/drum-sealer-sprayer.html
Why do you have to mix it with the drill if you can mix by recirculating it in the tank?
Thanks for the comment. Mixing it with the drill helps to dissolve the chunks at the bottom of the barrel.
When are you going to put the sand in it? So nobody Slips and Breaks there Neck?

Does this work with sealmaster seal?
Absolutely as long as it’s asphalt emulsion.

Sealer is water soluble?! I didn't know that
Thanks for the comment. If the sealer is coal tar or asphalt emulsion and it's thick for application we do recommend adding water in the mix.
Filmed in good ole onterrible
Common! It’s not that bad lol.
