    My family is from the NC/VA border at the Chowan. Id love to take a tour from the Sound up into Southampton or Suffolk

    Ever think of preserving the history and heritage by leaving it alone? Tourism brings more people and alot of those people want a McDonald's or 7 11 every mile and a half. Look 15 miles east to the outer banks... People come here because it's not like where they're from, but eventually some move here permanently and wanna bring their Starbucks, too.
    As a native son of the area, I see my home turning into a different place. I stand on the banks and feel like the Indian in that commercial about littering... A single tear.

      @Em Fisher Well, I'll agree with you that slavery was not a good thing, at least.
