A wizard is not late nor is he early. He arrives exactly when he means too
😂😂❤.
_So_ cute and cozy with a positive message and lots of heart. Maybe when you give your feedback to the devs, Gab, you could mention adding a "petting" mechanic. For all of us animal lovers, that would definitely ramp up the coziness. 😊
Yes please! This is a must! I wanted to pet or hug the cow SO bad
Yes! So very much this!

I am so ridiculously excited for this game! I’ve always wanted to build a hobbit hole for myself irl, this is going to be so much easier as a hobbit hole plan than using an architect. Definitely the same thing. 😂
OMG it's so nice to see Richard Taylor still there! I absolutely loved hearing his passion about LOTR in the extended edition extras. It's also awesome to see new faces at Weta working on the game, bringing this story to new generations. The book captured one generation, the movies another, and now I hope this game does the same. Even better, this expands on the mythology Tolkien built. He created Middle Earth partly because he lamented the lack of true English mythology (while there is some, most of it is actually from elsewhere, like France thanks to William the Conqueror's invasion). What few Saxon myths we have are incredibly sparse. For us to build on Middle Earth is to build our own mythology on the foundation Tolkien laid. I'm so passionate about that subject, and I trust NO ONE more than Weta to take Tolkien's work forward.
"... a world where the most important thing you do in the day is help a neighbor. And there aren't any problems that can't be solved by talking things through over a nice meal." That is the epitome of Hobbits. Thorin himself said it best: "If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world."
I'm so excited to see Gab play this!
Right?? Hearing Richard Taylor's voice took me right back to when I was a teenager, watching my dad's LotR Extended Edition DVDs and all the behind the scenes footage over and over and over.
Oh goodness, I've found my people! Seeing Richard Taylor always puts me in a good mood. I've watched the Appendices more than I've watched the movies themselves, and I still put them on for comfort watching if I've had a rotten day.
huge for us hobbit heads and shirefreaks
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thought it was already out for a sec
BUT THIS IS SO COOL, LOVE THIS FOR YOU, GAB
3:58 that is SUCH an animal crossing sound😭😭💕
OH MY GOD YOU GOT TO PLAY THE GAME!!!?!!? THAT'S FLIPPING AWESOME
Im here for Hobbits and Pumpkin mugs :-D
What a cute goofy little game
20 seconds!? are you kidding me?? 😂😂
Watching this while eating hot soup definitely made me feel a little Hobbit myself. What a wonderful concept for a game, Gab is once again showing me a game I didn't know I really wanted. 🧡I can't wait to explore the Shire and (hopefully) watch Gab explore the Shire next year! 🍲
“Issa pumpkin”
That was so cute. 💜💜💜
"The dwarf and her armored duck, Ladle"
Gab: ARMORED DUCK?!
Me: LADLE?!
I hope to see you playing more of this, if ever a game had your name written on it, it's this one ❤
GAB stands for “for lack of better” or essentially… Goodenough! 😂 👏 perfection! A+ pun!
I wish the graphics were a bit better. But that's literally the only nitpick I'm having. The game looks great.
eh, not really nitpicky, graphics are super important
@@moths.for.valentine yeah like the style is cute. But the graphics are giving PS3 vibes and it's like uuuuffff come on.
I am feeling that
Reminds me of world of warcraft
I hope it gets a little bit of polish before the full release
Usually I won't play a game unless I like the graphics, but this looks like it will be an exception either way 😅
@@Dingobabee i don't think they're going to make any major graphics changes months before release sadly (as someone w experience in the game industry)
@@moths.for.valentine yeah, like I said, polish, nothing major
I don't expect the entire style to change overnight, but there might be enough time for some shaders
I'm not saying it's mandatory for me to enjoy it either, just wishful thinking even though you're right that the games industry can be a bit of a nightmare
the concept art looked so good that i'm a bit disappointed with the style they ended up with, it just looks like unrendered 3D models :'( oh well
Same! To me it also it looks like a high graphics game that has been ported to the Nintendo Switch and lost the majority of its details lol
I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed it... hopefully there's a bit of polish yet to come 🤞
Gab, as soon as she starts playing a new game: "so... can I fish???" 😂
The game looks great! So excited for it
didnt expect to see a hobbit mlm but here we are, thanks hobson
Instead of the blue bird they should’ve used piwakawaka’s. They’re little nz naitive fantails that literally follow you. Flying all around you. They’re something out of a fairy tail. I love them. 8:41
I absolutely love that the dwarven woman actually has a beard!
I also really hope we get the opportunity to host a giant rager with fireworks at the end of the game maybe?
18:48 for those who don’t want to see/ already saw the showcase
Hero fr
Thank you! I thought a couple minutes of it was fine, around 6 minutes I started skipping. Sheesh 18 minutes is almost a video by itself (at least in old RUclips)
40:34 for those who want to see a horse having extreme decision anxiety
It looks very cute! But I have a question: Can your character eat? Or they just cook for other hobbits? I thought the game would have a hunger need of some type, after all they're hobbits.
You know, I was thinking the same thing
But ultimately, I hope your character can eat ( it wouldn't be a hobbit life if you can't settle in with a nice warm second breakfast that you've cooked up)
But a lack of a hunger system could be nice purely from the idea that hobbits in the shire always have enough to eat and share that noone really goes hungry
@@Dingobabee I agree. The need I had in mind it was less of a go hungry one and more of a go grumpy one or similar, and if you're hungry you would just walk slower or take longer to do stuff because you cant concetrate well
@@paulanogueira497 ooo, I like that quite a lot honestly
Idk how well a hunger mechanic would work, considering how often hobbits eat! You'd be doing nothing *but* cooking and eating 🤣😂
I do like the idea of being *able* to eat though. Especially when you have people over for dinner, it would be awkward to just be sitting/standing there while they eat
I'm gonna play this and have my Hobbit hide all the silver ware from his guests.
From those Sackville Baggins!
Oh I love the hair, reminds me of Rachel Maksy 💚
Farmer Cotton is invisible for his whole argument😅 but I'm so so excited for this game!
I wonder if she’d be interested in Palia. It reminds me a lot of Star Dew Valley and Dreamlight valley and I can’t remember some of the other ones she’s played
Palia is so good. I'd love to see her play it
Ok is it just me but when she was at the green dragon the person the guy was talking to was invisible did he glitch out or something. Game looks cute though
I was looking for someone to say this because I was so confused where Farner Cotton was lol
Wow, I can't believe how much this game reminds me of Palia!😮😊
The Goodenoughs. Where every time they finish something, they say, "Good enough!" 😂
First and second breakfast with each having coffee ☕️ sound sooooo good right now. And Potatoes!
Love watching all your game plays Gabs! ❤
OMG Ya really made Ms. Frizzle 😅
This game makes me hungry, time for eleven-sies 😂
Afternoon tea and supper 😂
Can we appreciate the fact that Gab kept getting distracted by the ginger game dev during the video, and then basically created the Hobbit version of the dev in game?
Wish we could pet the animals, pick up chickens even like in the old Zelda games
It is quite a shock to open a Gab Smolders video expecting to watch some fun gameplay, only to have my hometown be the first thing to appear on screen.🤣🤣🤣
Something seems to be missing. Where's the pipeweed and the all the beer?
They desecrated Tolkien's world.
Wallets closed to DEI.
Because having alcohol and/or tobacco as part of gameplay can have your game upgraded by the esrb from a e for everyone to a t for teens. This is a cozy game, so they want to aim for as wide of an audience as possible.
@@chelloword Likely excuse. Stop desecrating Tolkien's vision. DEI = DOA
@@wiliestrogue2924 how does the game not including weed and beer have anything to do with dei?
I can't express how much joy it brings me to know how The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings movies and games is all made in my home country, I feel like I live in middle earth and it makes me so happy 😁
I love everything except the art style 😭😭 and it's one thing I just absolutely can't get past, what a shame !!
1.I NEED THIS!
2.Boromir is the G.O.A.T
3.Getting a hobbit Gab is a blessing
4. It's lovely seeing Richard again.
I don't know how I feel about this one yet. The characters just grunting the entire time seems like it'll get real old, real fast. There's something off about their faces, like the guy fishing in their first trailer didn't look like they had a nose, and they all walk weird. Part of cozy games for me is having something to work towards, but that's antithetical to what a Hobbit is. So will there be a goal, or will they stay true to Hobbits preferring to avoid drama and strife? But on the other hand the art style is kinda cute, and the decorating looks amazing.
Now I know why Bilbo never wanted to leave and longed for his hobbit hole the entire time.
I'm not sure I'm interested in the game myself. But I'm happy for Gab that she's made it to a place where publishers give her these opportunities. That's got to feel good.
Ok this is fucking adorable and now I wanna watch LOTR 🥹🥰
It looks good, but I've noticed a couple of bugs I hope they fix soon. Farmer Cotton disappeared in the beginning and they all kept on acting like he was still there 😂. And the text on top of your hobbit never changes. So I'm not sure yet.
It's not really out yet, so I'm sure they'll get that stuff fixed before the rest of us get to play it next year.
It’s 6 months from being released.
I am now officially a Hobbit after watching this video.
YEES YES YES YES YEEEEEEEES 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Cant WAIT to watch you play Gab 😍
Have you guys ever been to Puzzlewood in the Forest of Dean, Gab? It’s so magical and it’s thought that Tolkien might have taken inspiration from it. It’s my favourite place it the world!
Funny, that’s not what they say back home.
I’m glad to see someone looking forward to this game for what it is instead of jumping on the Twitter drama bandwagon.
Uh oh, what’s the drama?
the what now???
....about?
@@gabriellewhite6194 Basically people accusing the studio of trying to make the Shire “woke” because of a comment on their page about having diversity on their team, and for creating Hobbits with various skin colors.

oh my gosh Gabs! That mug is so cute!!
I think I haven't felt this excited for a game ever since My Time at Sandrock was released. I'M DYING FOR THIS RELEASE!!!
I love Nefi, finally a dwarf woman with a proper beard!
OMG i have a question for the devs, Can we have a pet in this game????!! ❤❤❤ loving it already!!!
I am so looking forward to this game, I have spent so much time just farming and cooking in LOTRO.
the whole time watching this i can only think "posture check" as my back aches from the way her character stands
I think the attitude you choose in the intro must affect how you run, bc I've seen other gameplay where the MC is skipping to run
Such a cute, cozy, beautiful hobbit game! I can’t wait play it when it comes out next year on netflix games! thanks for the video gab!❤
The only cozy games I play are ones that are Gab Approved ☑️
man hobbits have a serious case of scoliosis
I wonder if they'll have some Howard Shore music in the official release.
When I first heard about this game I was really on the fence about whether it'd actually be good or not. I have super high expectations for anything associating itself with Tolkien's universe, so I thought I'd be disappointed. But just watching this hour-plus of you playing really got me excited! I LOVE how they've done everything! The decorations, the map, the homes, the cooking, the gardening, the animations! it's all so good. The second I finished watching I added it to my wishlist. Thank you so much for playing, it really helped me give this game a closer look! I'm looking forward to March!
I can’t wait until this game comes out! It’s not gonna come soon enough! It comes out March 25 of next year. Do you know why that date is significant? It’s when Sauron was defeated, it’s so brilliant!😊 I love WETA Workshop so much.❤
I'm watching everyone's let's plays because everyone is showing juuust a little bit of other things
I have just though where the word Hobbit comes from - HO- mo sapiens + raBBIT = HOBBIT , hahaha. Cause they live in holes in the ground and have big feet...
Thank you for playing this game! I'm a huge Lord of the Rings fan and was so curious of how the game was going to be like and was afraid the showcase wouldn't show a full experience. It looks so cozy and relaxing!
Animal Crossing meets Lord of the Rings
rather Lawd of a Rangs
I have long said that another name for "Cottagecore" is "Shirecore" 😅 either way, I LOVE IT and I cannot wait till i get my hands on this adorable cozy AF game!
Have you been to Hobbiton in New Zealand? You should come over and eat at the Green Dragon inn!
Omg! Such a cute game! 😍 And it comes out on my birthday, how cool! 🤩
Just go play the 2003 game.
If we go fishing, can we find a gold ring?
Ganon-dalf. Is that something.

is the game free, and am I able to get it from the Microsoft store, it's where I get all my games other than those I play on facebook
I cannot tell you how excited I am for this game to come out!

I'm so glad you got to play this early!! So excited to get to be a Hobbit myself!!! Getting a wonderful game from the amazing Weta who brought Lord Of The Rings to life, it's perfect!!
Hope y'all had a great gardening season! 🍅🍅🍅
not me getting emotional when we see Gandalf
Armored duck! 🥰
Would love a Hobbit hole but being 6’8 it would just be house in the mountains. 😊
Not sure if I just missed it, but they could maybe add more hair colors and skin colors? Just nice to customize hobbit :)
It looked like there were a number of hair and skin colors, Gab just didn't go through them
You should always have flowers in your garden as they bring in pollinators.
Not gonna lie, now that Fall is here, I feel like a hobbit myself. Wish the game would come out sooner. xD
I really hope they add romance or someone mods it in. Having a cute hobbit wedding would be a party nearly as big as Bilbos birthday. And hobbit children would just add such a homely, cute family life to it!
This game is so adorable, looking forward to the full release :)
"Snobby Hobbit" = The Snobbit
I was getting confused because there were Hobbits talking and no Hobbits there - the sandyman guy popped in and out and then after farmer cotton wasn't there but was talking. A glitch I guess !
I loved The Lord of the Rings since I was 12, when my mother introduced the books to me after showing me the animated films that were out at the time, (1982!) I grew up loving LOTR/HOBBIT and Tolkien's works, and I had raised my children to love it as well. My eldest son is somewhat of an expert in the lore, and my eldest daughter is very much like you with her love for horror and cozy things, including her pumpkin mugs! I am looking forward to having another Hobbit game (I loved the other one from 2003) to sink my teeth into, so to speak,😅 since I've been a lover and connoisseur of everything worthy of Tolkien's approval, which this new game seems to be. I love the fact that you and Sean are interested in a lot of the same things that my grown children and I are interested in! It makes me feel like I'm watching a very dear close friend or member of my Hobbit-loving family! Anyway thank you for even more fun and interesting content! You guys take care and give BB a head scratch for me!❤
I have been waiting for this game since I first heard about it. I am so excited to be a hobbit!
I’m so excited for this game I love the hobbit and lotr
This comes out on my birthday dude I'm so hypedddd. Dragon Age Veilgard comes out on my anniversary with my bf like, this year was bad in this beginning but I always look forward to the end of the year.
Petting the animals (who can have different personalities and can be required to warm up to you) AND being INVITED to dinner parties instead of only ever being the one to have them would be things I’d like to recommend to the developers. This is already SO close to my dream game! I’d like a way to make this game worth playing BEYOND befriending everyone in Bywater though… I want to build the landscape, manage the wildlife I invite into my garden or homestead, and not have to worry about my animals dying after just a few quick seasons with them. Eventually, yes, but I feel like MY life as the player should move along too. I’d like the option to start a family or not. I’d like the kind of homestead I can have depend on all of my decisions and desires. Maybe my family can become playable characters after my original character dies and keep the homestead and relationships with other hobbit’s families going and developing. It would be difficult to have enough content, but if things move slowly enough, but quickly enough to stay interesting, I think it could be a very satisfying game!
this is giving me zelda windwaker vibes
Gab Smolders
38:58 "Michel" rhymes with "nickel"! I only found that out a couple years ago, when I listened to the audio books. 😅
Gab and other goddesses: talking about cooking
Me: ELEVENSIES
Overall, this looks to me like Stardew Valley in LOTR universe. Good idea!
