In these tests you should do a same day test with your gamer driver. It would show if the driver was slower in ball speed or if it was just you that day.
@@stevenc9207 I understand where you're coming from but smash is how efficient the strike was not necessarily the speed of the driver. I'm not a huge PXG fan and taking up for their product. I don't like the look of the driver and wouldn't play it myself. I just think it's a more fair test with same day gamer testing also.
Nice review. I agree with some other comments on here that I would like to see your reviews compared against your gamer on the same day. For being such a good player your swings speed and club delivery/shot shape seems to vary pretty significantly.
This has to be based on you today. The PXG 0211 Driver you tested last year was longer than this one. (That or the 0211 Driver is an awesomely priced driver.)
I had a simple telephone fitting and bought the Driver in 9degree with a senior shaft for £250 delivered. I hit my Rogue ST Max (Cost £449) with a Graphite Design upgrade shaft around 220/230 yards. I am 65 playing off of 8 with a swing speed of 90mph. The PXG added 20 yards easily to my length. Harder to draw than the Rogue but longer definitley. Similar dispersion. A very good deal. Had my longest ever drive today, slightly downhill, firm fairway but hit it out of the middle. With run it made 304 yards. I was gobsmacked. Used a Callaway ERC ball. Excellent stock shafts.
Currently GEN 5 DRIVER is marked down to 375 Canadian....GEN 4 is 360 Canadian and the 0211 is 285 Canadian.......I assume at these prices the GEN 5 is a no brainer.... Do you agree ? get them while they are hot i guess...cheers from Canada
Would like to see a head to head between these and some of the new drivers. I got fitted for all the new drivers this year and got the best numbers from the 0311, closely followed by the cobra Ltdx ls. It was the adjustability of the weights helped me big time to fine tune it to me, found my ball flight was the straightest with the 0311
Just ordered the xf for $375 cad Cant wait to try it. The bottom visual is a little underwhelming for me as i prefer the big pxg from past models but its a slick looking club with a nice cover and will be a definite upgrade for me. Cant wait to try it
How did it work out for you? How did it compare to what you were using and what were you using before? I'm considering one but I want to talk to someone who's at least had one in their hands.
My Gen 5 7.5 is as straight as my Mavrik SZ and Cobra LTDx LS. It's also 7 yards longer on the carry. Maybe I got a good one and you didn't. I dunno but your swing speed as you stated is about the lowest of any driver test you have done. Love your videos and watch them all.
Thanks for testing the PXG line. I assume it’s not as available as it is across the pond and us average golfers would like more variety in reviews. A head to head against their other models would have been nice to see. I also know you’ve tested Ben Hogan in the past and even carried their fairway wood but a current test would be nice as well. I might look at trying out the 0211 driver someday and if it performs as well as the more expensive models then why spend the extra cash? I have the 0211 5 wood and I really like it and the price was right. I enjoy finding quality gear for a good price because this game can get expensive. Probably a good thing I’m not rich 😁.
It's being sold online directly through them for less than half the price of almost all major manufacturers. It's strange that it isn't mentioned in terms of a review. It's basically putting up near identical numbers to drivers that cost 2x as much.
I couldn't disagree more on this review. Got the 9° 0311 project x black smoke xstiff shaft on the "$300 deal of the century " that pxg was saying. I figured f*Ck it I can sell it to a fan boy for that down the line if it's no good. The best driver I've ever used. Straight, straight and long.1st round my miss hits were going 250-270 in the fairway. Reached 300 multiple times like it was nothing. Think I gained distance from lack of spin and curve on the ball. Feel very much in control hitting cuts or baby draws. Jumps of the face sounds great too. Sweet spot between a mental ting n carbon thud.
For £250 these are a steal. Got a free upgrade to a Tensei shaft that suited me better than the standard ones and the XF refused to go off target even with some horrendous strikes from me. Definitely worth a try for anybody in the market for driver at the moment.
@@noahpalmieri941 It was included in the deal apparently. Just tried various different shafts and the Tensei worked the best. Fitter just said it's not a standard shaft but no extra charge for it
I think your ball speeds would have been up if you had better strikes . Looks like you were 1.39-1.45 and didn’t have any at 1.5 to see true ball speed potential. Would like to see some 1.5 strikes with that driver comparing to the stealth or rogue or g425 etc
I had the proto driver and 7 wood and sold them both. Just ended up not liking them or doing well with them - also looks and feel we’re somewhat off putting for me though it is a very personal thing. Ended up with the Taylor made stealth and an epic speed fairway both of which are for me so much better and giving me excellent consistency, results and minimal drop off. Really wanted to like the pxg’s but regrettably not. Have Pxg gen 3 irons which I love and are performing extremely well. Will be checking out the gen 5 irons shortly to see if there is any real meaningful difference - viz stopping on greens and even tighter dispersion though gen 3s working extremely well so unlikely to change. Will likely wait to see what Titleist brings out next year or when gen 6s are released if it then makes sense to get the gen 5s.
Couldn't help but notice your club head speed was 11+ MPH faster when your testing EVERY other Name Brand driver! Not a very fair comparison at all, I can only assume you get paid for these reviews, I understand. My buddy spent well over a Grand on a Paradyme Triple Diamond and a Mitsu Diamana X Shaft I tried it out against my $300 PXG 0811X Proto with a Mitsu Tensei CK Pro White. His high dollar set up netted me an average of 6 extra yards! I will take the PXG for the price and spend the savings on new shoes, gloves, lessons & balls!!
I quite like the Gen5 XF driver, your gibberish is just that gibberish, all the data all the number, bollocks, just tell me if I can find the damn fairway...
Interesting, I got the cobra speedzone brand new when the replacement come out (radspeed) and have tried several drivers since and I can't find a driver that works as good for me as the cobra speedzone does (tried all cobras since, taylormade stealth and stealth 2, Callaway paradym recently, Titleist, srixon) and I've just ordered a pxg to try as they're cheap on offer, looking forward to trying it.
@@ShaunY1988 Sounds like we're in the same position. I have had the Speedzone Extreme for several years now. I also bought the PXG Gen 5 0311 as thought it looked fantastic and the price was great. However, just not working for me. Quite surprised at how short it is. Let me know how you get on!

I agree. A nice baseline would be good. I have the gen 4 xf. I wouldn’t be surprised if the speed is down a touch but he forgiveness is awesome
His swing speed is down. Why’s he bitching about ball speed
Great shout. Good to have a comparison.
True, but he has enough other videos to know, the 1.42 smash factors are very low for him and in general. This is not an impressive efficiency result

Best looking crown I’ve seen from PXG.
I’m sure you tried another club that same day, were you slower than usual on a different brand of driver ?

I wish I could complain about my ball speed “only” being around 160 (from a guy who struggles to reach 145)!😂😆👍🏻
some things don't appear to change with PXG woods. Lagging behind virtually everybody else in speed terms still after 5 generations?
My bad shot is left, last thing i need is a driver with a weight in the heel ⛳
Put it in the toe!
Swing speed 111, other drivers 115, not a fair test

I shouldn't have watched this review directly after watching your G425 Max vs. TSR2. Just doesn't seem like the Gen 5 is on par with the other two.
Couldn't disagree more strongly with this review. Ignore Mr. Newton in this one, this driver is the real deal.
i used to play the PXG back in the proto model but I have moved on, the last couple models did nothing for me. Seems like a big drop off in the Gen4
They come out with new clubs faster than Taylormade.....
Nothing special to see here today. You have presented much better drivers this year.

for sure, when I don't see pro's even the staffers using PXG drivers that tells the story.
Operator variability. I find it a bit disingenuous to title the video as it is when clearly he’s not hitting as well as he normally does.
Why the fuck all of these gold videos have accents
