  • In this video I look at 8 spoken informal contractions. These are contractions that are commonly used in spoken English. They are used in all English-speaking countries, but particularly in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Not all native speakers use these, but many do. I hope this will help your listening comprehension!
    Some examples: coulda, gonna, kinda, lemme.

    Dear Max. Thank you for your videos. There is one question.
    What is the difference between "Frank should have studied more for his exam" and "I could have gone running this morning"?

      You're welcome :).
      "Frank should have" means that he was supposed to study more, or that it would have been a good idea if he had studied more. "I could have" means I was able to go running, but I didn't.
      Does that make sense?

    I thought that "wanna" have meaning only "want to", and say "i wanna sandwich" it's wrong.

      No, it can mean either "want to" or "want a". ;)
