My hope was to can everything in my freezers before 6 months of storage. I never made it. I still think it's a good idea. You are doing great! Grow what you like to eat.
Awesome video! My wife and I are slowly moving in this direction, baby steps, but eventually want to be living off what we grow, forage, fish, and hunt for as much as possible. Excited to see your future videos!
With everything y'all already do, y'all would probably never have to go back to the grocery store if y'all bought a couple of the hydroponic aeroponic systems. Some outside in warm months for y'all to preserve from and then one home unit to come inside to keep getting fresh stuff in the winter. I'm hoping to get me some soon and then y'all inspire me to find things in this new area I've moved too. Amazing pantry tour 😊
Y’all even know pupusas, my Salvadoran heart is warmed❤❤ would love to see a vid on how you nixtamilize your corn!! you all are fantastic hope your harvest are always abundant in the future
Love this and your content!! Thank you so much for sharing about the nixtamalization process on tik tok because I totally believed the sad lies about corn not being nutritious. Totally gonna try dent corn this year!!
Hi! Sam from @moderndayhomesteading here! I usually cringe when I hear or read people saying they want to live off the land. I don't think they realize all the sacrifices that go into it and how arduous but rewarding it can be. You guys are very inspiring and I need to know where you forage here in Western Pennsylvania because you've found some great things!
Thanks! Our foraging spots are kind of all over the map. Some of them are street trees in the city (Juneberries) and others are way out in the middle of the woods in the Laurel Highlands. We're just kind of always looking out for edible plants and when we find them we mentally mark where they are so we can come back when they're good to harvest.
Great video! I have been waiting for you a to start your RUclips channel :). I'm excited to follow your adventures. I haven't done a full year challenge but that maybe I can try it for a month in summer.
Found yall first over on Tiktok and wanted to see more! This is a fantastic video. Love seeing all the ideas for different preservation types. Where did you purchase the spores for mushrooms?
@@HomegrownHandgathered if it's not enough then you know you gotta grow more. For freezing bell peppers I put them on a sheet pan and freeze them individually then bag them. Then you can just grab the handful that you need.
Greetings, In your intro, you show some berries...what are they and their use? Also, would you be willing to share or sell some of your Carolina Princess seeds? Cheers ☕
Thank you for letting me smell the dried smoked peppers too 🌶
🤣🤣 of course!
Living off the land has been my goal for years. Thank you for the information.
I loved Jordan’s little chuckle when Sylvan said “flavor bomb” they are seriously so cute 🥰

Would you guys be able to trade for some local milk to make cheese? What are your guidelines for the challenge?
Wooooooo!

Very cool!
What's it like living my dream? Lol. That is a lot of produce that lasts throughout the winter.
Yea, I guess we'll see exactly how long it lasts with our living off the land challenge lol.

@@kirstenstoremski3874 we actually do that with a lot of smaller veggies and fruits as well! Guess we forgot with the chopped bell peppers haha
@@HomegrownHandgathered that's really smart with fruit. I bag those and let those clump lol

You guys are the COOLEST!!
🥰 thanks Jilly
Groundhog???...Stock
Basically, what do you do?
Could you please post the model of your grinder that you use for the corn?
What variety of tomatoes, and how many plants do you grow??
Greetings,
In your intro, you show some berries...what are they and their use?
Also, would you be willing to share or sell some of your Carolina Princess seeds?
Cheers ☕
Rose hips? Tea high in vit c?
You can can your stock to save room in your freezer.
Do y'all have a recommendation for a nutcracker that will withstand a lot of use on black walnuts?
They show it in one of their shorts.
Where can i buy these seeds
Did you say "groundhog"?
What were you foraging off the tree in the beginning of the video?
Wild rose hips 🙂
what you actually do to the corns???
Looks like yawl need a bigger garden for a bigger harvest.
Which food dehydrator do you reccomend?
We have an Excalibur. Works great!
💖✌🙏👍
How big is your garden?
Probably about 1/8 acre of actual growing space. A good amount of our food comes from public forests where we forage and hunt as well!
Okay wait you can eat acorns?
Very informative, thanks!
Have you tried cutting the new pumpkins and burying the stalk with root hormone, it makes the pumpkins you don’t cut massive
The dream
