Making a Whopper Plopper style topwater lure

I made a Whopper Plopper style lure. In this video I
show you how to make the lure tail and how to paint
it. The tail of this lure made of an aluminum plate that
attracts fish by flashing. And the sound and shaking
generated by the tail's rotation is a special movement

You must have cut a channel in the second piece to recess the through wire when gluing it together?
