Great Taylor thanks for sharing. I agree with your ideas. During ceremonies I try to stay light with two camera bodies and two or three lenses. PS: What a lucky event! all in one location! Here in southern Italy if you don't do at least 300km in the day the marriage is not even valid! 🤣
I’m an Ontario wedding florist and was recently bit by the photography bug so I got a used Sony a6600 with a 50mm 1.8 and 30mm 1.4. Absolutely loving your videos. Watching while building this weeks wedding florals and learning how to get some great bts shots and detail photos of my own work. So great seeing all the venues I work at and getting a better idea of a wedding day from a photographers perspective. You’re awesome!
Gold dust. Will defo dedicate some time later to get through this video. I’m planning to start second shooting soon and this should come in handy. Thanks. 👍
Just following your channel due to in researching of great camera for my beginner photography career. I’ve found your channel and knowledge giving me so much information. Just subscribed to appreciate your great creative work. Thank Taylor really
Hey Taylor, I find this video to be very informative. Thank you! I do have a question though. How do you get clients? Do you use Fiverr or some other freelance websites?
Omg just watched half way though the video! Thank you Taylor for putting this out. I am relatively new to photography and trying to get into weddings as I just like the idea to be able to create memories for the couples for years to come. I am in KW area too and it’s really hard to break in and find second shooting opportunities as a lot of leads want you to have years of experience even if you are ready to work for free to learn and build a portfolio. So thank you for sharing this info and breaking it down for anyone interested in this, as I feel like even if you get lucky with the lead no one would take this much time to explain things in bits as you just did! Thank you again!
Hey! I’m just down the 401 in London and I was thinking if you’re having troubles getting second shooting gigs, setup your own shoots or join styled shoots to build out your portfolio. I’ve hired second shooters that haven’t done many real weddings themselves, but since their portfolio looks good, then it gives me confidence in them. All the best with your photog journey and would love to see your work. Drop your IG if you feel like it. Cheers! Tuan
I shoot on an A74 with pretty much identical settings and definitely can't get 4000 photos from a single battery. I usually find myself having to change battery during the reception. So weird.
Just shot my first wedding this past weekend, you have been so much help and I copied your shotlist to contribute to my own. I definitely don’t think I got enough photo coverage of the guests, but I shot hybrid so they’re atleast in videos😅 overall, for my first I don’t think it was too bad- I do wish this video was already out though!!! haha
Nice Video And Info :). I shoot with the Sony a7RIV and with the Sony a7IV But I still have to make up my mind on what I really wanna use my gear for, I started with POV street photography to Landscape Photography as a hobby, I just need the Sony 16-35mm GM, The Sony 24-70mm GM and the Sony 70-200mm GM THEN I'll start wedding photography shoots :)
Oh thanks God I found someone really interesting and helpful in RUclips 😂❤️ Getting ready for my first wedding 📸 all 2,5 was great, clear and not boring 😂 Like, subscription and Thanks
Hi Taylor I love your videos👏 I am not doing much wedding photography but I am doing Similar to wedding photography which is I take photos of People (families, couples and Kids, portrait) in outdoors. So can I still buy sony a74 and tamron 35-150 f2-2.8 for this kind of photoshots?
11:52 How did you achieve this soft misty water look while still keeping sharpness on the couple ? Hello Taylor, thank a lot for all the videos and all the tips, gonna go for my first wedding with peace of mind
I have my cousins wedding in September and have never shot people before. This helps me so much especially sine I use sony and don't have a wedding photographer preaching canon r series only :) Any recommendations on lenses for sony for weddings that? Are non prime lenses okay?
Hey Taylor, Loved the video! In the context of Wedding and Portraiture, when you shoot in Aperture priority. What metering mode are you using? I typically shoot in manual, and use ''Multi". What metering mode gives you the best results?
A great and helpful video once again. I have my first friends wedding in 2 weeks. I was advised to shoot in manual mode but thanks to you I will do it in A mode. I have the Sony Alpha 7iii. What are the exact ISO settings for Auto ISO? What focus area do you use and what metering?
I don’t really change my settings for auto iso. Whatever it came default as it, it remains as. Then when it gets dark at the reception I’m usually in manual mode. Focus area I just use all the points, but I’ve been told using a tracking box is better practice. I’m default metering as well
@@TaylorJacksonPhoto Thank you for the quick feedback. I was always told not to go higher than 1200 ISO but with my Alpha 7iii an ISO of 3000 or 4000 shouldn't matter? Can you recommend the Tampon 35-150 2-2.8 if one wants to start with wedding photography and is still too unsure with fixed focal lengths and also has no second camera? I gathered from your video that you are very enthusiastic about the lens. I appreciate all your helpful videos.
Thanks a lot Taylor ! I’m about to go in full frame ! I’m a hybrid shooter. 40% photo, 60% video. Which ecosystem do you recommend ? Canon R6 II or Sony A7 IV ?
Both are very good options. R6II you might have to switch the physical photo/video dial to get custom settings like 60p and manual video. So usability it’s not a 10/10. But performs well as long as you’re okay with that. The deciding factor for me comes down to the Tamron 35-150 f2-2.8 existing for Sony
I just listened to your book. Very good. I also booked my first "big wedding". I am a little excited and a little nervous. Thanks for the full length video btw!
Hello am reaching out to you in hopes to get your advice i have been doing photography for some time no’t in a professional way, i just recently updated my camera to a nikon D850, i mainly cover some local Hispanic events where they use very bright colors and they are on plain day light that is where am having some issues am using a nikon 24-120 f/4 i can do really good on soccer with the 70-200 but for the wedding i just can not get it right,am trying to learn from you, please respond.
dude youre cool as they come i watched this video and soon as it started i said hold up is that a sony a4 tamron 35/150 2/2.8 and all your other gear u get whhat im saying I OWN EVERYING YOU HAD except the rv i have an a7rii and an a7riv i thought to myself WTF AM I DOINGGGGGGGGGGG subribed here thanks brother needed this info!!!!!!
Hard call. I find the screen of the a7iii really challenging to use, but the autofocus of the Z6ii in low light is also hard. I’d probably go a7iii if I had to choose
i use z6ii and i really like it for all lighting situations. if you're shooting in pitch black, you might need the AF assist beam, but i never use it. i havent used sony but i'd imagine their low light AF is a lot better than nikon's lol
question: in your wedding pricing, you have "two duplicate parent albums", what does that mean and look like? I see the 12x12 album but just wondering what does this mean

how when i use aperture priority get high shutter speed, auto iso get slow shutter, i have a7iv new buyer

Question. Isn’t it better to shoot full frame and then crop in post rather than toggle to crop mode?
If you like to do more work later I guess it’s better. I’d rather just make the decision on site
@@TaylorJacksonPhoto I see. I think my style is to choose whether to crop later one. In case I realised uncrop is better when post editing.
