When cooking on stainless steel the trick is to let it warm up a good amount 10mins is what I do. When I'm ready to cook I add the oil immediately before adding the food. Let the meat sear until it released naturally. If it's sticking to pan let it keep cooking. Once the crust forms it will release naturally. Hope that helps! I love your videos ❤
I love that you clean and decorate your home so nicely even though you’re still renovating it. You are an awesome homemaker Valerie.❤❤❤ Your videos show how much you love taking care of your home and family.
We use the leidenfrost effect when cooking in stainless steel pans. Heat the pan on medium heat about 5-6 minutes. When hot, add about 1 - 2 tsp. of cold water. Swish the water around the pan to coat the bottom and pour off any water that doesn't sizzle away. Then add your oil, we just about always use avocado oil, then let the oil heat up a few minutes. Once oil is ready, add meat or eggs or whatever you are cooking. Can just about guarantee the food will never stick.
This is great advice plus... Crowding the pan will cool it down and will be slow to heat back up. You could also after cooking time is nearly done move chicken to the top of veg mix and hit broil to brown it up a little more. Don't worry Valerie it happens to all of us all the time!! Be well from Canada 🇨🇦
I could watch you cook all day!! You are so organized. I panic a bit getting everything all ready at one time - you don't have that problem! Awesome. I don't see anything wrong with the chicken - it all looks so delicious! Lucky family you have :)
I love how you make the best out of a construction zone. I followed your lead and put a Christmas tree in front of an unpainted wall. The wall disappeared. No one even noticed the drywall mud lines. Go figure.
I would like to wish you and all your family a very happy Christmas and a wonderful 2025. May we continue to be blessed to see your plans and renovations for the coming year. Thank you for all your time and energy in making all of 2024 videos, I've loved each and everyone. Happy holidays. From a UK subscriber. 😊

GE Valerie, I have a suggestion for the next time you cook up the chicken thighs spray it with a little Pam. I think you’ll find that they won’t stick to the pan as much. Also, I was wondering if if you don’t mind where did you get the beautiful sheets for your bed? I love them. I think I may try this recipe that you’re doing the apple cider chicken sounds wonderful. Hope everyone in the family is doing well. I’m glad to hear that. Granny finally came home. Get the fur babies a hug for me.😀
Hi Valerie, when your browning chicken or any other meat you don’t want to crowd the pan, your better off doing it in smaller batches, hope that helps , along with other suggestions you got hopefully it will help. Happy holidays!
Hello my favorite family and fur babies where is milo I haven’t seen him in this video the food looks delicious have a wonderful day 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🎄🎄🎄🐈⬛🐈⬛
I always use avocado oils in butter when searing my thighs or just butter.. Olive oil unless its the type that you can saute with is the only one I use. I but hard to find so butter does the trick
Ah, just what I needed tranquility and peace. Your videos are a piece of heaven to me. I love how you make your home cozy, even in a construction zone. Your meals always look yummy. It is wonderful that Granny is home doing well. Thank you again for another wonderful video.
Valerie, your homestead is so beautiful! I love, love the mountains. The barn is so beautiful. I would love to meet you and Tim. I love cooking, also. I grew up on a farm in Georgia. Spent my honeymoon in the mountains 58 years ago. Visited every year on vacation. Wow! what can I say! I would have so many plants along side the creek (especially elephant ears). Feel like you are a really great friend. Merry Christmas to you and your family. May your homestead continue to grow and be bountiful.
I think its the type of pan you're using. I have one of those pans and they are not good at browning they are only really good sauteing or steaming etc. Just my opinion since you asked about the chicken 😊 love your videos ❤
Valerie love you quilt on the bed and love seeing your little fur babies. If the pan you are using is stainless steel, I was told to always get the pan really hot, then add the oil and let that warm up and then add your meat which is dried off. Hope that helps.
Were in S Carolina now and loving the cool weather. Getting to know the county roads and watching the deer running across the roads have a nice holiday. Have to drive an hour to go christmas shopping then I will be done.
Thanks for another great video! Your videos always leave me hungry and wanting to shop and decorate. Cleaning...not so much. Lol. It's been a difficult day today. A family member is very sick. Your video was just what I needed. ❤ Faye
That’s so great that you’re attempting meal planning and thinking about the adjustments you need to do to make it work. Thanks for another video! I know Christmas time is so busy with all the running around y’all’ve gotta do. It’s such a treat when you post. I love how you manage to keep everything clean and cozy in y’all’s “construction zone.” Another wonderful video, Valerie!
I would not have thought of putting apples and sweet potatoes together, but wow did they look good! It all looked delicious! And you accomplished your goal- your bedroom looks very warm and cozy❤. Love the quilt! I use quilts but don't have anything like that one. Max cracked me up looking out the window so intently😂
Hi. I know we as the you tube family do not see the whole picture but from what i can see you did magic with the house even tho it's a construction site. All the rooms look cozy and clean.
Oh my goodness! Willow and Max are so cute looking at you with their soulful eyes. I love asparagus, I top it with a sprinkle of parmesan. Yours looks delicious. Hugs to you and all of your family!
What a lovely visit today❤. I thoroughly enjoyed this video from start to finish. I was surprised you didn’t use Christmas music but I realized half way thru that I LOVED the music you chose! Valerie I have No doubt that when you start Reno on the kitchen you and Tim will create s make shift cooking area. It'll be like camping, Tim's grilling skills will save the day! your chicken looked good to me but when I think of sweet potatoes and apples I think of cinnamon and butter. I've almost finished Christmas shopping, just a few things left. Hard to believe its only 10 days away! Love your videos❤.
Hey Mrs. Valerie! I absolutely enjoyed your videos here in New Jersey ❤ I love how diligent you are about household chores while balancing a beautiful attitude for you and your family! Wishing you a lovely week- cannot wait to see your next video! Best wishes 🎉
Hello Valerie!!! The dinner looked delicious!!! Willow looks adorable in her little sweater and bow!! She's precious ❤ And Max he must have seen something outside. HE was ready to go after it!!! Loved the video!!! Take care and God bless you friend 🙏 😊❤
I smile while watching you make the bed, after what I go through. We changed the sheets today, which is my cat Tucker's favorite thing. We got the fitted sheet on, then he caved while we put the top sheet on. He climbed out and caved again under the comforter. We got the holiday spread on while he was still under there. We actually got the pillow cases changed without his help, too. Wonder of wonders... He's my helper, "the tuxedo tornado".
Hi Valerie, do you have a cast iron skillet? They are great for frying. If not familiar with them, they are slick as nonstick when seasoned well. I have a nice collection from when I had an electric stove like yours but I don’t use them on my glass top stove now. My son will end up with them.
Valerie, dinner looks scrumptious. I believe I could smell the rosemary lol 😂😂..I love watching your new creations. I also do all my prep work before starting to cook. I bet we don't see her son's bedroom because she's said the kids like their privacy so now he's in the room and has it decorated his way he'd probably want it private He goes to school and if any of the kids from his school watch he probably doesn't want them to see his bedroom I know I wouldn't Invasion of privacy 💜🇨🇦🦩
I’ve never had luck frying chicken with olive oil. Never turn too soon also. And dry the chicken. Hope this helps some next time. Looks delicious though ❤😊

I sure enjoy your videos. Does your mother-in-law have her own bath? I remember when you started her room remodel, you showed a bathroom for her room but I didn't see the bathroom remodel, I missed it somehow. I will be glad when you get your new kitchen! I know it will be beautiful.
Looks like the chicken cooked fine. You may want to add a little more oil next time & let it cook a little longer. It looked delicious & healthy. I'm going to try this recipe!
Hi Valerie: Re your chicken thighs sticking in the pan, I use a combo of oil and butter and, most importantly, I ensure the chicken is patted completely dry with paper towels before frying - this always works for me. 👍 Really enjoy your videos and watching you make new recipes for dinner. ⭐ Hi to Willow, Max and Milo from NL, Canada!🐶🐶🐱💞
I really enjoy your videos Valerie. Your Christmas decorations are so beautiful, I bet granny is glad to be home again to celebrate the holidays with her family. Oh and Max and Willow are so adorable hanging out on the bed🥰
Valerie, if the kitchen is the next project couldn’t you hook the stove into where the dryer will be? If the plugs are alike I mean? If not crock pot, grill, and maybe something like a hot plate if they still make them. You can do it. I have all the faith in the world in you. I can’t wait to see a new kitchen. And I surely hope you have enough pressure for a dish washer. You guys take care. Kiss the fur babies for me, and I’ll see you in the next one.
Avocado oil is best, maybe even some ghee. It never dawned on me until now, but why aren’t you using an cast iron pan…I thought you were a country girl! Kinda just looked like you might have tried to flip them just a tad too soon, ..or maybe they partially defrosted and needed more cook time. You have GOT TO try some lemon peppered seasoning on your asparagus, it’s amazing, I promise on everything I own! I rub them with avocado oil, add salt and lemon pepper then line them on a cookie rack inside sheet pan, 400° for 15-20 mins depending how done you like it.
I was always told to put the meat in the pan to brown, then not touch it for a while. Give it time to brown well before turning it. This might prevent it from sticking. ❤

Oh, and I have never made asparagus in my life!! And I'm old lol! But watching you, I just might give it a try! Thanks!
I love how you make the best out of a construction zone. I followed your lead and put a Christmas tree in front of an unpainted wall. The wall disappeared. No one even noticed the drywall mud lines. Go figure.
I would love to see you and Tim have a new bedroom. You both work so hard. You deserve to have a nice place to relax in.
I hear olive oil is not for high heat cooking. Salted butter or vegetable oil may work better 😊
Thanks for the tip! 😃
No seed oils, (canola, vegetable, Crisco, corn oil, etc.)they’re awful for your health. Use Olive oil or Avocado oil.
We loved you lovin on the doggies! Gonna try the meal recipe. Thanks for letting us visit!
You're so welcome. Thanks for being here. 😊
Thanks Valerie, I've got my fix for the week. I'm going to have to try the chicken. Love your videos! God Bless from NC

Loved the video 😘👍🏻💕💕🎄🎄🙏🏻🙏🏻🎄🎄
I was always told to put the meat in the pan to brown, then not touch it for a while. Give it time to brown well before turning it. This might prevent it from sticking. ❤
That was a yummy dinner Merry Christmas to you and family
Can you show your daily exercise routine, thankyou.
Did you clean your pans with a Brillo pad? Sometimes that will make things stick. Your meals always look great. Looking forward to 2025 videos
You know, it's possible. I rarely use that pan because everything always sticks. 😊
The bed looks nice.
Looks good, love the babies ❤
Loving your video's. I think your kitchen is beautiful! What is the yellow/green spray cleaner you use so often?
