I bought the XD because I wanted a reliable and accurate range blaster that came cut for optics that I wouldn't worry about putting a lot of rounds through. The pistol was cheaper than the optics ready slide I was going to buy. It's over 1,100 rounds now, still no malfunctions.
Yes, sir, I had every intention of selling it after I done the review but couldn’t seem to part with it lol. Thanks for watching and for commenting and be sure to subscribe if you have not already.
Yes, I catch a lot of grief on the channel for having all things good to say about Canik. I mean from the people complaining about the MC9 to people complaining that the TTI was no good to the haters that just hate them for no other reason than besides the fact they are made in Turkey I catch all kinds of grief. However, as a influencer, and I do not like that word because I’m not trying to influence anyone, I’m simply just trying to share my experience but in doing so I can’t be biased from one brand to another just because of where it’s made or if the vast majority may have had issues, I can only report my personal experience And I can tell you of a certainty I do not recall ever having a single failure with a Canik pistol and although I put it in writing on the thumbnail, I don’t really consider it a cheap gun. I just figured it would get people to click on it to see if I was talking smack about that brand lol but the reality is if it’s all you can’t afford and you are going to train with it and it’s actually a reliable gun. I don’t have a problem with it, but what gets me is the people that have way more than enough money not too cheap out on their personal safety, but choose to do so anyway. Thanks for watching and for commenting and be sure to subscribe if you have not already.
@@GSquaredTactical Canik's are phenomenal options... and why the majority of my 9mm lineup primarily is Canik. Having family in Turkey (Uncle Commander of USAF base), Sister humanitarian worker, I also know first hand of the human rights issues and persecution that has rapidly increased over the last decade. If I were an Influencer or Reviewer, I would still review their platforms, but I am planning on selling my Caniks for reasons of conscience. Not being judgemental at all, and certainly not "hating", but am putting my finances and support toward sources I believe better serve patterns that benefit a culture that serves various freedoms I cherish (including 2A).
Glocks are $200 dollar gun that sells for 600. Price means very little in the polymer market. Back when glocks were first released they were gonna charge $180 but after doing some market research they realized Americans would perceive it as a piece of shit at that price point, so they raised it.
There is a lot to be said for that. If I quote someone a fair and lower price for a hvac system or repair there are those who will shy away thinking I’m going to short them somehow when the opposite is true
I'm one of those suckers for inexpensive guns. Over the years, I have bought (and later perhaps gotten rid of) a ton of sub $300 guns like the PSA Dagger, Taurus G3C, Ruger Security 9, Rock Island M200, Ruger Wrangler, and Heritage Rough Rider. I even bought a Hi-Point C9 once (didn't like that one). The higher quality guns I have bought have also tended to be used guns sold for around $300 or less, including the police trade in Glocks 22, and 21, Ruger Security Six, Colt 1917, and CZ82. My 22 rifles tended towards the cheaper side as well, including the Marlin 60, Marlin 795, Rossi RS22, and basic Henry H001. The hunting rifles were inexpensive, Savage Axis, and Ruger American. The ARs were inexpensive PSA build kits on Anderson stripped lowers. The AK a basic $300 Ishvesk Saiga, the milsurp an old Mosin, the PCC a Sub2000, the shotguns cheap Maverick 88 and Stevens 320. In my defense most of these have been perfectly acceptable firearms. 🤷 I have also purchased a couple mid range new handguns, including the Glock 19, and S&W 642. Before you know it, you can end up with thousands of dollars of basic firearms, wishing you had fewer but better guns. 😉 It's just hard for me to drop much more than $100 on a 22 rifle, $200 on a shotgun, $300 on a handgun or hunting rifle, and $500 on an AR. It's also hard for me to spend more than a couple hundred dollars on a scope. Vortex, Bushnell, and Primary Arms are in the safe. Night Force and Leupold are not around. Praise God that Christ saves even goofballs like me! Glory to God!
P10F made my best of 2024 list love them CZ’s. Thanks everyone for watching and for taking time to involve yourself in the conversation and be sure to subscribe if you have not already.
I'm old and have learned a lot over the years. Yes, you get what you pay for. That being said a lot of shooters are a lot like golfers. They buy a gun, a new gun comes out, they sell the first gun to buy the new gun and I buy the first gun for50 to 60% of the original sales price. Good example is the PPQ. The PDP came out and everyone had to have one and dumped PPQs on the market at a reasonable price. So you could buy a top quality gun at a bargain price. If your worried about buying used think about this: someone shoots a couple thousand rounds from a pistol. Keep in mind that modern striker fires with go 20K+ with proper maintenance. Just something to consider.
Personally I buy inexpensive guns just to try them out. I carry well known and well vetted brands like my m&p shield. I'm not saying that these guns are less reliable or not as functional as more expensive guns, it's just a personal preference. I love a good deal and I have given some of these "budget" guns away to my neighbors or friends that don't have a gun.
Oh heck, yeah my wife can tell you I get way more excited about a budget friendly gun that actually works then I do about some of my more expensive guns but there is a reason to have some budget friendly Guns no question I was mainly driving at the people That will never spend over $300 on a gun just to say they have ex number of guns.
@GSquaredTactical my youngest son and I, he's 25, were just talking about this yesterday. People that have 5 Taurus handguns but will say that they can't afford a Glock or Walther or something of real quality. I get it because I've been there more than once, but what I've learned is I'd rather have one or two good quality pistols and rifles and shotguns than 10 budget guns.
I'm "starting up again" almost from 0. To get a gun it will put down my actual economy and I am a believer that 2 is 1 and 1 is none, so I back up if I can, and also considering that today I can' t spend 2.000 bucks at a row, to have affordable and reliable options is nice. As soon as I found mod 2 used XDs with several mags at a close rate was a plus for them , but not a subcompact that I would carry most of the time and I shoot well. My solution, 3 glock traded. A modified and better sighted G34 (gen3), better sighted G19 (gen4) and a G26(gen5) with better sights. First one new, improved texture and finish and the other 2 used trade ins/ LE trades but in hot summer was difficult to carry all but my 26. So I got an even cheaper 27 and conversion barrel in a sale and have a back up to my other carry. Recently a walther pps 2 and a used j frame 37 ( I was gifted a 3 day wheelgun ccw course and equiping me for that)
Like all hobbies there are “entry points”, mine was the G3C, then I fell in love with shooting. Having trained in both the Navy and USAF on Gov DOD contractural platforms my experience with other offerings and their reputations had little backdrop aside from pop culture. Having sifted through the hype, marketing, and fanboys, it’s been fun to find gems like the XD Mod 3. SA is listening to their user base and refining their tried and true “Civics” as well as innovating along very useful and tangible lines. I had a negative impression of them based on 2A issues which I discovered stemmed from 1 person who was removed. I’ve been very impressed with their service, support, and aftermarket community. Bought 2 XD Mod 3’s… not because they were “cheap” but because they had everything I needed in my $600 budget… and the XDM trigger! These are primarily for training my teens but we bought them over Glock, S&W, etc.
That's the way to buy quality guns at reasonable prices. Even Le trade in M&P's are going for $300-$350. They come with night sights and are already worn in a little.
Thanks to everyone, Ray, Chuck, Twin gunz for watching and for taking time to discuss. I have had a few LE trade-ins myself and I did not even think about that option. Thank all of you guys for watching and if you have not subscribed yet please be sure to do so
Couldn’t agree more with the Mod3. I have a couple Glocks that I trust my life with being that they are just downright reliable and go bang all the time with regular maintenance. I also carry my plain Jane S&W M&P Shield 9. Nothing fancy but has run flawlessly since the day I picked it up. Picked up the XD Mod 3 recently and man so far it might be the best $300 I’ve ever spent. I was always skeptical about the grip safety but it doesn’t bother me at all. Optic ready, solid trigger, fiber optic sight, racks smooth, nice serrations, and shoots great. Feels more like a $600 firearm. Springfield definitely has my attention. The compact Echelon might be my next pick up. Love the honest reviews and it’s cool that you and the wife can enjoy shooting and making videos together. Working on getting my wife her CCW so we can do the same. Keep it up G!
You are right about quality usually being commensurate with price. I think your original comment about the correlation you observed between lack of experience and owning cheaper guns is sadly true. With all the info on almost all models at our fingertips it is not much of a task to winnow down the choices based on your own criteria and choose one. Sometimes, like your XM, the price/quality continuum works in your favor, sometimes not. I like the feel of Sigs and HKs and I pay for that preference, but I have the experience to back up my buying decision. I don’t remember price being a top three reason in any of my purchases, though I do wonder sometimes when I see police trade-in or refurbished Glocks right at or just under new prices.😂
I just don’t understand when one makes a decision to finally be responsible and buy their first gun to either protect themselves or their family. Their first knee-jerk reaction is to spend as little as possible and I mean it’s just not with people that don’t have the money it’s ones who do as well. Thanks for watching and for commenting and be sure to subscribe if you have not already.
lol I don’t know a single person that owns a Hipoint not anymore I use to know one guy. I also don’t know a single person who carry’s a .22 outside of a backup and even then it’s like 2 people. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
Gotta practice and do your homework too!. No point in having the tool and letting it collect dust. Dry fire practice, range practice and drills are the most valuable things you can do. I feel awkward for my first gun being the RXM, but I will put a few hundred rounds down range before I even consider carrying it and trusting my life to it. There is no price for safety.
Because we've been under the Biden administration and cant afford hits! With that being said, personally i like my Mod3. You get a bunch of premium stuff for an affordable price in my opinion.
It's a very good quality gun a budget price I have the Mod 2 and never had an issue with it yet and it just as good as my Glock so I'm sure the Mod 3 will be just as reliable. This is the best gun money can buy hands down
This is not a cheap gun, it is a gun priced cheap. It is underpriced, it would not surprise me if it goes up real soon. Springfield is definitely drawing a line between the chassis and central operating group models. Im not a fan of cheap guns, I can recognize when the engineering is punching above its weight. This md3 its a great value. I really like the ergonomics, serations n optics ready.
I have more than a few guns, and enjoy them all. Some cost $1800, and I enjoy them all. If I had taken the total amount I paid for all of them I could have instead bought two ( or three ) Nighthawk, Staccato etc pistols - or maybe a good used car 🤔 . It isn't about quantity, and nobody really "needs" more than one gun. But many of us simply "want" more than one, and that's OK. Inexpensive guns can be good bargains or cheap crap and it's up to the buyer to discern the difference and purchase appropriately. BTW - I bought my Springfield XD40 almost 15 years ago when the only ammo on the shelves was .22WMR and .40 S&W. I paid
In my experience, until *NOW* with this XD Mod 3 at $299 MSRP, about $350 or so was the cheapest I would go to get a good reliable 9mm handgun, and that was the Canik TP9 SA (I think the basic TP9SA is still about the same price). I think the Caniks have better triggers, but to be honest, overall I like the XD pistols better, even the older ones. Most handguns I've ever owned were $500 or more, and overwhelmingly they were all very reliable, though one older FN FIVE-SEVEN did choke on *some* types of FN factory 5.7 ammunition, which was kind of a bummer for a brand new 1200 dollar gun :( One last thing I'd note: the *BEST* out of the box trigger overall for all the handguns I'd owned, probably was that Canik TP9SA. The FN FIVE-SEVEN, even at 1200 bucks, *DEFINITELY* did *NOT* have the best trigger ever, so....trigger quality kind of seems to be all over the place sometimes, regardless of price point....but as you said, *generally* you do get what you pay for.
FN is weird!! When new the triggers suucck but they break in with use like a ball glove. Thanks for and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
Agree with you about an older XD. I bought a new XD40 over 20 years ago, and although I have many newer polymer striker pistols, the XD40 is my nightstand gun. It has such a solid feel to it, and I like that it is heavier than other polymer guns. I think when people say that Canik has the best trigger, they should really say it has the best trigger reset. Many Canik polymer strikers have a longer initial trigger take-up than other plastic striker pistols.
@gracedagostino5231 Hi! I remember your screen name from an older thread about the XD. I agree with you about the Canik Trigger. It has the shortest RESET, but that doesn't necessarily make it the best overall trigger. Also I just got a Mod 3 and I do like it, but I think I prefer the slightly thicker original XD in terms of the grip. It's like I think you said before, newer is not always better.
I grew up around mostly mediocre to cheap crap firearms of which probably 40% of them were jammomatics. Spent more time with a pocket knife digging fail to feed cartridges(22lr) out of actions than actually shooting. It had a lot to do with why I had little interest spending time at the range until I got in my early 40's. I'm 57 now. No more cheap junk.
It's because of current economics, lots of people struggling right now with the rent, groceries, and other bills. And your average Joe will not spend hundreds of dollars worth of ammo. The gun will most likely just gonna stay at the house and maybe once or twice a year seeing the range. But its all they can afford right now cause salary growth doesn't match with inflation and cheap g3c or sd9ve is better than nothing. Im pretty sure if they have a lot of money they dont care to spend, they likely get hk or something like that
No the people I know have been doing that for 20 years lol they are just hoarding trying to get as many as possible to say they have X number of guns and it nothing to do with not being able to afford better it’s being cheap for the sake of being cheap for the ones I now anyway
Picking up my first firearm soon (stupid california) and it's a Springfield XD, can't wait to familiarize myself with it and spending quality time at the range with it
Are you going to carry it or use it as nightstand or truck type gun? If carry the mod 3 can prove to be challenging depending how you carry. I can certainly carry the MC9L or LS easier
My very first pistol purchase was a TX22 Taurus I think it was 270.00, I never had a issue or malfunction with it. Three weeks later I bought a P320xf... I actually miss the Taurus. I've never had a pistol feel so good in my hand, better than the Sig, my Beretta, better than my P2xx Sigs.. I might actually buy a new Taurus GX4 because it looks like a 9mm TX22 .
@@GSquaredTacticalHahaha.. 😂.. Actually I shortened it down to a rifle/carbine in the 8-12" range and a pistol or two.. Hope you and your family Have a Merry Christmas 🙏
There are a lot of lower priced guns out now that have good build quality that should be selling for a lot more if they had a different name on them. One as an example is the DY9 you kept referring to. Me and couple buddies bought them about 6 months ago. I have a couple hundred flawless rounds through mine and another one has around a thousand or more flawless rounds through it. They shoot smooth, flat and feel good in the hand. When we hit the range the DY9’s are chosen to take over the glocks if that says anything.
I have the DY9 it’s been great as you will see in an upcoming video. However, this video was not to defame or disgrace anyone who may own them or choose to buy them. It was more or less trying to figure out the mindset of folks. I personally know who have a safe full of guns and not a single one of them cost over $350 with tax and they do not do it because they know or they believe That it is a quality piece for the money they do it simply just to have X number of guns in the safe and literally no other reason. I mean if you go out twice a month and buy a $300 gun for no other reason other than just because it’s cheap And never take that $600 and maybe invest it in a more tried and true platform it just doesn’t make sense to me because again I have had quite a few firearms that were stupid cheap and performed fine and then just broke all to crap generally somewhere around the 1800 to 2500 round count And that can only speak to the build quality or the a.k.a. you get what you pay for. For the average person who, as I said, will likely shoot one box of 50 rounds and stick it in a uncle Mike’s holster and likely rarely ever shoot it again then of course it will serve them well and they are the ones out here screaming the loudest That they have a $200 gun that is as flawless or as good as your HNK not understanding that if you habitually went to the range two or three times a month running three or 400 rounds through it you may not be so confident. Obviously there are some exceptions to the rule And maybe the DY9 will be one of those as I have not been able to test it enough to really know at this point. This was not an attempt to be a snob or disgrace anyone. It was simply trying to start a conversation to understand people’s train of thought. Thanks for watching and for commenting and be sure to subscribe if you have not already.
@ trust me in no way shape or form was I implying that you were saying or doing any of that. You made it clear that you prefer the higher end for self defense but are open minded to these newer lower cost pieces. You see a lot of people turn their nose up at these kind of guns because they don’t say Kimber, Glock, sig, or hk on them. Not many reviews out on the DY9 so I’m looking forward to seeing yours. Hopefully it’s not a one of one sample with the performance of these things and it’s across the board with them.
Well that’s why I done the video to find out why people buy them and you told me your reason and that’s a solid reason. Thanks for watching and sharing and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
In this economy good guns can be bought for cheap and in like new condition on the used market at some pawnshops and gun stores, last week I got a CZ P 07 for 350 , in October I got a Smith&Wesson M&P 2.0 9MM for 250, never in my life have I seen so many high dollar guns in the pawnshop going for dirt cheap , folks are hurting bad the pawnshop is reflection of just how bad things really are for some
Or so many people panic purchased guns during Covid they are just unloading them. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
I shoot about 5,000 rds./yr. & found most of my pistols break down. My Ruger LC9S Pro died after less than 5,000 rds. so Ruger replaced it with a SR9C pistol (thanks Ruger). My Ruger LCP2 has been sent back for repairs also. My P365 & P365XL seem to be the worst as both have been back to Sig for repairs 3 times EACH. My PC S&W Shield Plus has been sent back twice, my 1st Gen CZ P10C was replaced with a 2nd Gen P10C which is now a super reliable & great shooting pistol, my Ruger SR9C just came back from Ruger. But my Springfield XDM 4.5" 9mm pistol, my P10F, my Glock 20 are still running great & have so far not given any problems. I do change the pistols with needed changes. My Glock 20 has a KKM threaded barrel for better chamber support, trigger polishing with a -3.0 Edge connector for a 3-1/2 lb. Trigger pull, Talon grips for the slippery grip. XDM has a Powder River trigger for a smoother 3-1/2 lb. Trigger pull as well. CZ P10F & P10C pistols also have an HB Industries trigger shoe & striker spring for a 3-1/2 lb. Trigger pulls. I also had a gunsmith change my Springfield Ronin Elite Operator 1911 10mm pistols 6-1/2 lb. Trigger pull to a 4 lb. Trigger pull as I've found anything less than 3-1/2 lbs. I sometimes get unwanted 2nd shots. I would buy a Glock but there is as of yet no Glock as small as my P365 to take its place in my pocket with the same 10 round capacity. On the trail I'll carry my P365XL with a 4.25" threaded True Precision barrel or the 1 pistol that there's nothing to modify which is my PC Shield Plus with its 4" ported barrel & fiber optic sights. I loved how well this shoots I also bought the 3.1" Shield Plus. But I took the red dot off as it sits over the peephole causing massive carbon build-up on the lens, as well as stovepipe mals because of the erratic ejection pattern with the empty casings bouncing off the dot back into the chamber. Removing the dot returned reliability to the pistol.
Dang it boy sounds like you’ve had your share of problems. Thanks for watching and for sharing your experiences. Be sure to subscribe if you have not already.
Wow. I'm sure I don't have as many guns as you. I only have 9 guns but I haven't had to send a single gun back yet. My luck will run out soon I'm sure. Lol
This wasn’t an attempt to disgrace people for buying cheap guns but to understand the mindset and ask why they do and the answers have been great. Thanks for commenting and sharing your thoughts
I don't normally buy cheap guns, but I will buy used higher end guns at a discount. I have bought 5 cheap guns...SCCY CPX-2, Taurus G3C, Tisas Stakeout, PSA Dagger Compact and the SA XD Mod3. I just wanted to see how bad they were. SCCY AND Taurus are garbage, but they DID run. I am on the fence with the Dagger, but they are not bad. The Tisas was a very pleasant surprise and is one of my favorite guns. The Mod3 is just plain AMAZING for the price. As you stated, hopefully it broke the mold and has set a new standard. I guess cheap doesn't necessarily mean bad per se and expensive it not necessarily the best in all cases.
Well, I’m not trying to take a dig at people for buying inexpensive. Guns heck I get more excited about budget friendly guns that actually work then I do about my higher price to Guns. I’m primarily talking about the folks who never buy a gun that is more than three or $350 Just because they want a safe full of guns to tell how many guns they have and I don’t understand the idea behind that. Thanks for watching and for commenting and be sure to subscribe if you have not already.
Most people are better off buying less guns and spending more money on ammo and training. Everyone is caught up in the latest and greatest but lets it sit in their safe. I understand being on a budget though, these days there are actually trustworthy options in that sub $300 price range, especially on the used market. You can get a police trade in Glock for about that price, which is the way to go for someone new to concealed carry.
Oh yeah, for sure there are some reliable options, but it has been my experience personally in my area anyway that people who cheap out on guns are not doing so because it’s all they can afford. They are trying to accumulate as many as they can in the safe which is absurd to me. Then on the other end of that spectrum, you have those who may genuinely be on a real budget and can only afford $300 or so they say but the issue with that is as I mentioned in the video if they can’t spend more than $300 on a gun me and you both know they are not going to spend 150 or $200 a month to train with it which is irresponsible and negligent in my opinion. I promise you bro there was a time I was the kind of poor they make a lifetime movies over but when I went to purchase my first gun, I did not even think about it. I did not think about groceries or gas that week or anything else I cash my check went straight to the gun store and bought a Glock 17 GEN three and at that time I believe wholeheartedly, I would never be able to afford another gun so I was going to get one that I knew was reliable and dependable, and that I did not have to train a crap to With in order to use it to protect my family because if you are going to put a price tag on your protection, then just don’t bother because you will end up hurting someone more than helping them if that makes sense. Thanks for watching and for commenting and be sure to subscribe if you have not already.
@@GSquaredTactical Yes I agree, it makes more sense to have 1 expensive gun that you are extremely proficient with vs 10 cheap guns that you can't hit the broad side of a barn with. That is indeed irresponsible, bare minimum you need to go to the range once a month at least with a couple hundred rounds. And I mean absolute bare minimum, I think you should go once a week if you can. It is your duty as a responsibly armed citizen to train with your weapon, so in the event that you need to use it in a self defense scenario, that you are proficient enough with it to save your own or other's lives and not harm anyone unintentionally while doing so. Yes I've been there, the SD40 was my first gun lol followed by a Taurus 709 Slim (I still have it mostly for sentimental value, and also because it is worth nothing lol). I understand that mentality and I think like that myself. It sounds like we share similar opinions. Training trumps gear any day of the week! You can hand a good shooter any gun and they will be able to shoot it well, but you can hand a poor shooter the best gun on the market and they won't be able to hit anything.
@dbmdefense yeah it’s crazy because before I decided to start doing the RUclips channel and just having open honest conversations about Guns outside of the theatrical bolt and paid for garbage where you never hear anything negative and everyone’s sensitive ears are protected I would go to the range every single Thursday. Me and my wife had a date night planned for every Thursday night because I own my own business and she does not work on Fridays and we would run anywhere from 3 to 400 rounds in each session which would be about 1200 to 1500 rounds a month so I was doing that before I ever even thought to start a stupid RUclips channel. I mean, what’s the point in having something to protect yourself with if you don’t know how to use it? As Larry the cable guy would say that’s like wiping before you poop it just don’t make any sense.
@ That’s awesome that you and your wife shoot together! My wife is scared of guns but she’s glad I have them and know how to use them 😂😂 That’s awesome that you have your own business man. I try to take 150rds a week and shoot that out of whatever I’m carrying. I’d like to shoot more! Lol. Thanks for the good vids man I’ll definitely be on the lookout for more. It’s hard to find like minded people these days, that aren’t afraid to voice their opinions. 9mm is a good caliber but it’s not a magic bullet like everyone thinks. 40 has more stopping power than 9mm and that’s a fact due to it is heavier and can go faster with the right loads, it also creates a bigger wound channel obviously, it also is what I would consider the bare minimum round for woods defense ie cougars or MAYBE black bears with the right load if it’s all you had. Would I feel comfortable with a 9mm against a bear? Not even close. With a 40, yeah I would feel better than with a 9. The reason the FBI switched to 9 was because people couldn’t handle the recoil and couldn’t qualify with the 40, these are all proven facts from someone that has done A LOT of research on all the different calibers.
Most of the time you get what you pay for. The major exception I'm seeing right now are the CZ P-10 models. They've come down in prize quite a bit. They're basically $600-$650 guns going for $300-$450 (depending on whether you want it optics ready). Everything about the P-10 models is high quality. The only problem is the availability of parts and/or magazines. Every so often, mags are hard to find. For the price they're going for, I would much rather pick up a P-10C than an XD. Sorry not sorry.
@ I do have several of them as well. They’re the handguns I shoot the best, and I’ve tried/purchased almost everything on the market. The P-10F is just a joy to shoot, and the C is not far behind
Canik has the best striker fired trigger as I have said countless times over the years in fact the video that I just uploaded yesterday of my top five pistols for 2024 two of the top five were Canik pistols. I do not even recall mentioning Canik in this video and it was in no way to disparage anyone who buys budget friendly Guns. I simply wanted to start a conversation about it. Thanks for watching and for commenting.
Most people have no clue about cnc machining and manufacturing. So they really can’t figure out the actual cost of something. They buy based on brand name. That yeti cup costs pennies more to make VS the cheap brands and yes it is better. But not worth the extra markup for its name better. Almost all striker fired guns cost about $100 to make. Glock is actually one of the very cheapest and it was not designed by some god to be the best. It was a cheap gun that by chance ended up being reliable same can be said about the AK47. I personally stay away from Turkish guns. As Turkey is not something I want to associate my gun with. They are an Islamic country guilty of genocide. And their quality is pretty low. But the underdog is HS produkt at the moment. All other quality manufactures have raised their prices because of branding. Like SIG HK BERETTA . I will confidently carry a XD Or Echelon because I truly can feel the dedication designers and manufacturing that has gone into it is top notch. It’s rare for companies to stay like that for too long corruption always comes in and ruins it. Just like how you could get a brand new charger hemi 5.7 for 30k couple years ago. Not only one of but literally the best bang for your money for a RWD v8 sedan. and now they ruined that too. My point price is not dictated in how much it costs but how much the idiot public is willing to pay for it. In a perfect world meritocracy and accurate pricing would have made the vp9 and Taurus g3 almost the same price
Oh there is no doubt you over pay for some names Staccato being at the top of that list but I still know a ton of people that have 25 or 30 guns in their safe and not a single one of them cost more than $350 with tax because they value quantity and if they get one that is quality it’s just icing on the cake, but quality never comes into the equation. It’s only about quantity and that’s the part of it that really blows my mind and what I really wanted to start a conversation about. In the same boat. Back in 2020 I got a great range membership that came with free gun checkouts. After testing 40+ handguns, and to my surprise, I shot the Canik SFX better than them all and bought a Mete SFX followed by 2 TP9SC Elites for EDC. I just added an MC9L to the family… all sharing the same clip has been great. I had no idea where Canik hailed from. Turkey’s past was not such an issue for me, my Uncle was even the CO of the USAF base there. However Turkey’s recent actions (BRICS, Israel, Putin, etc) have led me to reconsider. My sister is also a missionary there and I now know well the current persecution and very real human rights issues which exist under its current tyrannical regime. My support and use of Canik is over. They are amazing machines but the stewarding of the Lord’s finances does come with careful moral consideration. No judgement here, just my journey. All in with Springfield and S&W. (And yes, I’ve studied up on Croatia :).
guys in the pocket knife world do the same thing. They buy a bunch of Chinese made, cheap but serviceable knives instead of 1-5 really good American or European knives. These cheap gun guys are collectors and just want as many toys as possible for their budget. Its actually akin to hoarding. I would hope they spend a few dollars on the gun they carry. Full transparency, I do have a couple less expensive very well researched range toys that are exceptions to the rule but anything I carry is the real deal and wasn't cheap.
Heck, I get more excited about a budget friendly gun that actually works then I do about some of my more expensive ones and I am in no way trying to be a snob about people who genuinely and I mean most genuinely cannot afford to spend anymore however most of the people I knowthat are that way or not that way because they can’t afford a better gun it’s like they are trying to accumulate as many as possible
The worst cheap gun I have ever owned was a Charter Arms AR7, a .22 semiautomatic supposedly originally designed by Eugene Stoner & issued to pilots as a survival rifle in Vietnam. No wonder we lost that war. This rifle is a stovepipe factory that has to be cleared with every shot, really making it an ultra slow single shot. This is the only firearm I have that I wish the anti 2A government would offer a buyback program for.
So... I have 4 guns that I call "The Carry Guard". These are my serious gunz! To get into that rotation there is a trial. It must run two mags (flawless) and land EVERY round inside 4 inches at 7 to 10 yards. If it can do that... it is ushered into "The Carry Guard". Now I have about 40 guns, ranging from super cheap Saturday Night Special I won on auction mid tier double stacks 1911s. I'm not prepping for ANYTHING but my next range trip, no end of the world or zombie apocalypses or gangster shoot. Outside the "Carry Guard" rotation, all it has to be is cool looking (to me) and fun to shoot OR tinker on. I enjoy tinkering almost as much as range time. In fact range time after two weeks of tinker time IS THE BEST. Usually when I buy a cheap gun, it is to tinker on. I said all that to say. I got one of these to "tinker with", but omg it is (like with you), a few hundred (flawless) rounds in one of my favorite pistols. How did they make the mod3 cheaper than the mod2 and better...??? This thing is even better than the XD-M elite 9mm. IT is nothing short of amazing. Like I said, short of "The Carry Guard" this is all fun. I dont want live/survive in ANY post apocalyptic world were there is no AC, Wi-Fi and McGriddles... just assume the zombies get me day 2.
Ha ha, very interesting read. Thanks for watching and taking time to be part of the conversation. It is much appreciated. Be sure to subscribe if you have not already.
I buy a lot of cheap guns to test out to give my own input on them. I let other people shoot them at the range to try them out also. One I hated was the SCCY handgun wise, rifle wise I hated the Keltec Sub2000 because I lost a lot of beard hair from the charging handle, and getting hit in the face with spent cases being a lefty. Rock Island 1911's are decent, Tisas are typically decent, Taurus G2C I carried for a few years had 4 of them and sold everyone to people wanting their first gun.
Honestly, I just put a list of guns up there that tend to be more budget friendly. In no way was I saying that those guns could not be very beneficial or reliable for the right shooter. I guess for me it’s just that I know so many people Who will buy 25 $300 guns just to say they have a safe full of guns and I’m like come on bro just skip out on the next three budget friendly ones and buy one that is a little more well built with a better track record and ease of use just one lol. Thanks for watching him for commenting
@@GSquaredTactical No worries, buddy, I wasn't being derogatory to anyone. Keep up the good work and I enjoy your videos. You give honest reviews and don't try to sell us something we dont want.
No sir, I’ve never thought you were. I put up the video to have these types of conversations. I love them just unadulterated honesty. Sadly, very rarely. Is it respectable because people who are supposed to be of a like mine just want to tear down one another, but I know you have been a supporter for sometime and you comment often and God knows I appreciate your support, brother.
I am not aware of any pistols under $300, with the exception of SCCY and Hipoint. The Rock Island import Derya Melik is available for $300, but probably won't be for long. I just bought one and it appears to be a decent Beretta 92 clone. Do you consider a Rock Islands or EAA Girsans, to be cheap?
Cheap on price yes but the Tisas is actually pretty well built. I did not put that up in the thumbnail to suggest it was not a quality firearm. I was just trying to think of all of the budget friendly guns I possibly could just to make a good thumbnail. I have had a few girsans and for the price they were not bad. Thanks for watching and for commenting and be sure to subscribe if you have not already.
@@GSquaredTactical How do you rate Rock Island and the S&W SD series? I am asking independent of caliber. Rock Island 1911s are double the price of the SDs, yet being an S&W people automatically rate them higher.
I reckon for the same reason a lot of folk buy a Toyota, when they can easily afford a Lexus: many cheaper offerings work just fine, unless ultimate performance is the prerogative.
A cheap, budget pistol is good for the beginner, I think; someone new to guns... Plus, it gives them more money for ammo (better for training); so a win-win to me.
Yeah, but I was more or less talking about people. I personally know which is a lot of people that not only will never spend over $350 with tax only a gun because they are simply cheap butts. And I cannot tell you the last time they have went out and shot their gun because they’re too cheap to buy ammo, which then becomes a double edged sword. Thanks for watching and for commenting and be sure to subscribe if you have not already.
Many folks just grab what looks good to them with no research. It's why brightly colored tiny guns sell. I can't tell you how many times I've seen a man buy a lady a brightly colored tiny piece of junk that is more of a liability than an asset. Your XD is a good example of the opposite. Buy that and you have a reliable tool. Inexpensive, but not cheap.
This mod 3 is proven ultimate reliability . They changed nothing with the eternals of the gun all they did was change the ergos you would be a fool not to buy a few of these and use and abuse it as it will last for ever . My 509c is my favorite with this a very close second . And only because that’s the most accurate gun I shoot and this is very close second for accuracy .
I have pretty much all budget guns and I haven't had a bad one out of the box yet. I haven't had one have a part break yet. Yes I put rounds through my guns. Thousands of rounds. The money saved with buying budget guns buys those rounds. 😁
You are the exception because everyone I know who buys cheap guns is too cheap to buy ammo to shoot lol. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
I was about to buy either the xd mod 3 or the Smith and Wesson SD 40 2.0, but then I some how went home with an FN 509 with trijicon night sights!!! Oh........ The things we do!!! I got derailed, I swear it!!!
Brother, I just bought a FN509 comp because it was only a black Friday sale for $699 and FN is offering a $100 rebate until the end of the year so for $599 It was a no-brainer
@GSquaredTactical that's awesome!!! I picked up a used one in like new condition with the trijicon night sights for 475!!! It has the bag and 3 mags. It doesn't even look like it had more than a single box of ammo run through it!!!
Good video video and topic G! 3 reasons i see this happening. 1) Budget only allows for a cheaper gun each time 2) Person wants different options for same amount as quality gun. Example: 3 guns for 1000 , instead of 2 x 500 or , 1 x 1000 3) Person sees enough value in a cheaper gun for the purposes (Self defense or target shooting)
I have always said that heck I get more excited about a budget friendly gun that actually works then I do about my more expensive guns. It’s just that if you can afford to buy 20 $300 guns just to say you have a safe full of guns, my God at least by one or 27 or $800 guns that have a track record of reliability and ease of use. Thanks for watching and thanks so much for offering your thoughts and comments. Be sure to subscribe if you have not already.
I consider glock a budget gun just not a budget price . This gun and trust me shooting xd and glock for a long time before I figured out glock offers nothing better than a xd not even reliability Glock is just a mark up on name . My older xd one model I have xd 9 has 14,000 rounds never one malfunction .. yes you herd that right not one. And probably 3,000 rounds were cheap steel cased ammo were my glock 19 and 26 would choke on .
Why do you think Springfield is the only company that can make a good inexpensive gun. Maybe you don't understand marketing and branding. Why do some Glock clones cost way more than a Glock and others much less. I could tell you but you wouldn't believe me.
I never said that the SD nine or the SD 40 or that any other brands were not good or reliable I simply said that the XD mod three was a gun one of I’m sure many that is worth more than the budget price tag. I mean in no way God knows my heart in no way am I Braggadocious but I have owned over 500 firearms at anyone given time so I would like to think I’m a pretty good judge of quality versus price. I thank you so much for watching and for offering your thoughts and opinions. Please be sure to subscribe if you have not already.
There is nothing budget about the xd mod 3 other than the price all I shoot is fn Springfield and Walther . This xd mod 3 just like my older xd models I have will take a beating and never let you down . This gun is the steal of the year maybe the the decade . If you gonna shoot a lot like I do but 2 of these like I did . I could easily went and spent 700 on higher priced one but your not getting nothing more than this offers
Why do youtube shills receive free products and financial incentives for reviews? Hmmmm We know what you are. We know the choices you have made. We will never forget your cowardice. We will never forget your greed.
In my opinion, all striker fired, polymer frame pistols are cheap, some are just overpriced. And I have many of them.
That’s a valid argument
I bought the XD because I wanted a reliable and accurate range blaster that came cut for optics that I wouldn't worry about putting a lot of rounds through. The pistol was cheaper than the optics ready slide I was going to buy. It's over 1,100 rounds now, still no malfunctions.
Yes, sir, I had every intention of selling it after I done the review but couldn’t seem to part with it lol. Thanks for watching and for commenting and be sure to subscribe if you have not already.
Canik is a great budget friendly option. They typically run 20% less than what comparable guns sell for.
@cohoonatube yeah I had one such conscience issue about a year ago and sold 13 Caniks. The only one left is the TTI.
@@GSquaredTactical That is the one to keep! :D. I'll probably keep my Mete SFX since it was the first non military 9mm I carried :D.
@GSquaredTactical Where are you located G? I'm on the west side of Atlanta close to AL. If you're close you can use my guns for reviews.
You're exactly right
I'm one of those suckers for inexpensive guns.
I have also purchased a couple mid range new handguns, including the Glock 19, and S&W 642.
Before you know it, you can end up with thousands of dollars of basic firearms, wishing you had fewer but better guns. 😉
It's just hard for me to drop much more than $100 on a 22 rifle, $200 on a shotgun, $300 on a handgun or hunting rifle, and $500 on an AR.
It's also hard for me to spend more than a couple hundred dollars on a scope. Vortex, Bushnell, and Primary Arms are in the safe. Night Force and Leupold are not around.
Praise God that Christ saves even goofballs like me! Glory to God!
Hey man if that’s what you like doing then you do you bud nothing wrong with that. Thanks for watching
@GSquaredTactical The nice thing about staying away from really nice guns is that I don't know what I am missing. 😁
Haha that’s a very good point

A friend of mine has the original gen of this with 5 mags I am buying for 250. I figure I can't go wrong with it for that with 5 mags.
Should be Great let me know
No polymer gun should cost more than $400 bucks!
Even a Mark 23 or USP?
P-10 C P-10F best bang for your buck in my opinion and it’s not even close

I regret selling my P10C, but I’ve always loved XD’s especially this mod3
@damiion666 yeah it’s an easy purchase
Thanks for your thoughts and thanks for watching.
I just bought one of these, it's stunning for the price, $600 quality for 300 bucks.
Truth
And you think the RXM grip is better?
The XD has always been a great choice. I believe they had a surplus of them and firesaled them.
I don’t know, but it’s probably the best value going right now
Personally I buy inexpensive guns just to try them out.
Absolutely
Because for $250-300 we can get a nice piece that we can’t seem to let go of. Some are just undervalued too.
Some are indeed undervalued I can agree with that
I'm "starting up again" almost from 0. Recently a walther pps 2 and a used j frame 37 ( I was gifted a 3 day wheelgun ccw course and equiping me for that)
Sounds like you got a plan. Nothing wrong with that
Like all hobbies there are “entry points”, mine was the G3C, then I fell in love with shooting.
Yes sir
Ive owned the mod 2 in 9mm, 40 cal and 45 cal. All good guns. never had a jam. Very accurate. At the time they cost around $450 to $550.
Yeah they was much higher. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
@@GSquaredTactical I believe I will. Thanks

I have 4 glocks, 17, 19, 21 and 30s, all LE trade ins and paid less than 400 each.
LE trade ins are where it's at.
Exactly, if ya can’t afford brand new, LE trade ins are the shit. Always have a great experience buying LE trade ins
That's the way to buy quality guns at reasonable prices. Even Le trade in M&P's are going for $300-$350. They come with night sights and are already worn in a little.
@Brett235 yup. And two of my trade ins are gen 5s.
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts. Have a great Christmas
Most people defend themselves with 22s Ang high points. They are cheap but it’s what people have. The most important thing is that it works.
lol I don’t know a single person that owns a Hipoint not anymore I use to know one guy.

The best value on the market right now for sure
This is not a cheap gun, it is a gun priced cheap.
It is underpriced, it would not surprise me if it goes up real soon. Springfield is definitely drawing a line between the chassis and central operating group models.
Im not a fan of cheap guns, I can recognize when the engineering is punching above its weight.
This md3 its a great value. I really like the ergonomics, serations n optics ready.
Absolutely all true great gun
Great video!!! Please keep them coming
Will do
I have more than a few guns, and enjoy them all.
I paid
Thanks for sharing
In my experience, until *NOW* with this XD Mod 3 at $299 MSRP, about $350 or so was the cheapest I would go to get a good reliable 9mm handgun, and that was the Canik TP9 SA (I think the basic TP9SA is still about the same price). I think the Caniks have better triggers, but to be honest, overall I like the XD pistols better, even the older ones.
Most handguns I've ever owned were $500 or more, and overwhelmingly they were all very reliable, though one older FN FIVE-SEVEN did choke on *some* types of FN factory 5.7 ammunition, which was kind of a bummer for a brand new 1200 dollar gun :(
One last thing I'd note: the *BEST* out of the box trigger overall for all the handguns I'd owned, probably was that Canik TP9SA.
Thanks for watching
I understand and I certainly feel you on that. Thanks for watching and for commenting and be sure to subscribe if you have not already.
Is "you get what you pay for", true when you pay more taxes?
😂🤣😂🤣 I think you no to exception proves the rule lol. Thanks for watching him for commenting and be sure to subscribe if you have not already.

Torn between this XD Mod 3 and Canik MC9LS as my first firearm 😭 which one should I go for?
I did like my tx22 for sure. Hey, is there anything on your shortlist? 😂🤣
@@GSquaredTacticalHahaha.. 😂.. Actually I shortened it down to a rifle/carbine in the 8-12" range and a pistol or two.. Hope you and your family Have a Merry Christmas 🙏
@steven3379 you as well
There are a lot of lower priced guns out now that have good build quality that should be selling for a lot more if they had a different name on them.
I have a couple expensive guns, and I do like buying cheap guns as well..now with that said, I don't carry, practice, or keep them as a primary
Thanks for the conversation. I'm looking for a new 9mm. I will take a look at it.
Yes, sir and thank you for your support
@dbmdefense I always liked my 40s, but it became so expensive to train with them. I felt pushed out.
I love the P10C have several of them and CZ is my favorite brand. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
@ I do have several of them as well. They’re the handguns I shoot the best, and I’ve tried/purchased almost everything on the market. The P-10F is just a joy to shoot, and the C is not far behind
The p10f made my top 5 list for 2024 if you want to check the video out it’s the last video I put up.
Because Canik makes amazing pistols and have arguably one of the best triggers.
Thanks for watching and taking time to comment and be sure to subscribe if you have not already.
@cohoonatube love my Caniks and CZ’s. Thanks for watching and for sharing your thoughts and be sure to subscribe if you have not already.
Yes I've bought some budget guns but my P938 is my carry along with my LCP2 380 BUT I DID BUY THE MOD 3 BECAUSE OF YOU. PS THANKS FOR VIDEOS.
Yes, sir and thank you for your support and for diligently watching
guys in the pocket knife world do the same thing.
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

Are XDs really springfield? The Croatians seem to have very high standards.
No they are HS which is a good thing lol. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
Isn’t Yeti anti gun? I remember people breaking them for that reason.
Oh, I don’t know lol don’t tell me that I like me some yeti 😂
@@GSquaredTactical 😂
@danpatton3891 man I’ll take the 1911. The S&W’s work but that’s about all they do well
I reckon for the same reason a lot of folk buy a Toyota, when they can easily afford a Lexus: many cheaper offerings work just fine, unless ultimate performance is the prerogative.
That’s a fair assessment!! Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
How many jams...misfiring...???THANKS
None
The XDs are as proven as Glock and everybody else. It’s a known fact.
Yessir!! Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
@GSquaredTactical Wow... That's pretty crazy, lol. Especially these days; considering current events.
No kidding
Many folks just grab what looks good to them with no research. It's why brightly colored tiny guns sell. I can't tell you how many times I've seen a man buy a lady a brightly colored tiny piece of junk that is more of a liability than an asset. Your XD is a good example of the opposite. Buy that and you have a reliable tool. Inexpensive, but not cheap.
You are 100% correct like a robin egg blue SCCY lol. Thanks for watching and for commenting and be sure to subscribe if you have not already.
Yes sir thankful for your support
I have pretty much all budget guns and I haven't had a bad one out of the box yet. I haven't had one have a part break yet. Yes I put rounds through my guns. Thousands of rounds. The money saved with buying budget guns buys those rounds. 😁
You are the exception because everyone I know who buys cheap guns is too cheap to buy ammo to shoot lol. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
Budget all the way.
Fair enough
Stern you right alot of guns are under valued
Yes sir
Expensive guns jam too
I suppose they sometimes do lol
i know, its because theyve already bought all the expensive ones, did i win?
🤣😂🤣 that could be it heck I’ve bought so many overpriced guns I’m looking for a deal now
Ozark cups better than yeti i got a cabinet full of both
Lol
@Wildwestwrangler FN is not my favorite brand but I can tell you one thing they are built like a freaking tank and just work
Good video video and topic G!
3 reasons i see this happening.
1) Budget only allows for a cheaper gun each time
2) Person wants different options for same amount as quality gun. Example: 3 guns for 1000 , instead of 2 x 500 or , 1 x 1000
3) Person sees enough value in a cheaper gun for the purposes (Self defense or target shooting)
Only sig, Glock, HK, Springfield, Walther, FN.
Hey now don’t leave out CZ
I consider glock a budget gun just not a budget price . This gun and trust me shooting xd and glock for a long time before I figured out glock offers nothing better than a xd not even reliability Glock is just a mark up on name . My older xd one model I have xd 9 has 14,000 rounds never one malfunction .. yes you herd that right not one. And probably 3,000 rounds were cheap steel cased ammo were my glock 19 and 26 would choke on .
I believe that!! Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
More cheap guns ha e killed than expensive so the thing is if the cheap gun is reliable G2C G3C CANIKS SAR THESE GUNS RUN AND DONT JAM
👍🏻
Yeah it’s been great. I like CZ, H&K and FN as my favorites in that order. Thanks for watching
