Pole tent might be more technical to put up, but they stay up. Stronger in storms, don't get affected by air pressure due to hot and cold days or burst
we've had both the air tent was extremely heavy and bulkier and by time we had pumped it up it would have been quicker to just put the pole tent up. also it leaked terrible down the beams we returned it . also csmpe during storms and whilst the air tents were pretty much flat to the ground the pole tents were still stood strong
I just bought Adhara 500, the pack size looked quite small on the video, but in real life, it is much bigger than I thought…. a lot. I couldn’t imagine how big the air tent would be, because it looked almost double-sized as the pole one. And the pole one is 15.9kg, I don’t think I could manage myself with anything heavier than that. I am so glad I didn’t get the air one.
we had a vango 6 man air tent returned after one use it leaked on all the beams and it just wasnt practical it weighed a ton and took up more than half the space in the car. stick to my old vango beta 550xl that weve had for 6 yrs easy put up n down takes 10 mins and weve csmped in many storms its always held up well and never had any leaks or condensation. noway are air tents easier to put up compared to the quickness of a basic 3 pole tent
I prefer the military basha, all is needed are a few tent pegs, some bungees or paracord and the tarpaulin sheet, which can be camouflage, green or brown, it’s simple to make a shelter in a couple of minutes
I have had a Berghaus Air 6XL for six years now. Great solid tent that has taken many a battering in bad weather and has never let us down. However , the pack size is huge and weighs a tonne..... Fine for when you can camp near your car but a pain if you need to lug it about
Air tents are to big to bulky and heavier to lug around.ok they are quicker to erect but does the price jump warrant 10 mins faster.i will stick to pole tents
The price difference can be substantial. £200+ more for an air tent virtually the same size and quality as a poled tent. If someone was giving one away then yes I’d choose the air but would I pay the premium. Maybe not.
rubbish demonstration when you can use an electric air pump to put it up and some of the air tent have all of the air channels connected so no disconnect/reconnect this makes this a complete win for air tents other than weight. But looking at this you would think that the air tent is not a clear winner.
I am old school, pole tent!
Pole tent, the cost of an air tent doesn't reflect its pro's.
Pole tent all the way, pack size is a major factor for me, and the price difference doesn't justify buying air
But how easy is it to deflate?

Air tent all the way.. never had one but look so much simpler and less stressful to put up as a single parent !
