You can really tell when The judges are buzzed 😂 this is an awesome show
the whole reason I watch this show is to hear drunken smoky mountain rambling
@@yokothespacewhale the more waisted digger gets the slower and less coherent he becomes 😂😂 I love how you can always understand Tim though
@@dhgzebraa261 it's probably all the cocaine 🤣
It’s called Hollywood my friend 😅
I like how the competition is friendly, a stress reliever lmao
4:50 “I have a botanical you may or may not have heard of...”
Proceeds to receive a botany lesson...
Would have been awesome if he had given its Latin name 😂
I laughed so hard
That guy is one of those people who thinks there smarter than every one else. I get a real elitist pseudo intellect vibe from him. Doesn't mean has a bad guy though
“You need any corn liquor you call us” Digger and Mark are the best
“Your Absinthe, will kill!”
That's wild looking absinthe! Looks perfect!
When Hippies meet Renecks! 😂 If only everyone can work like this the world would be a better place.
From criminal to full blown judges on a legal show. Lol. I wonder if they ever thought this shit would happen rather than a long prison sentence
naw, they have always just been actors. nothing more.
@@orion7741 not true. Mark and Digger came up workin for Popcorn Sutton. Pictures to prove it. And if you say Popcorn was an actor or fake, then please don’t waste my time or yours responding lmfao
@@Ramzey44 They are both licensed distillers
@@Ramzey44 I would say that they've been actors since they've been on discovery, at least.
I don't doubt they may have started illegally, but I don't know how long they've been legit and licensed - not selling out as they're still skilled old school artisans in their product , but I'd say maybe playing up their outlaw roots a little for TV these days
@@RJ-wx3fh they've been legal for a long time, as long as you pay your taxes you can make moonshine wherever you want. It is not illegal
Mena looks like she's practicing Witchcraft, fascinating to watch !
It was really great to hear Mark talk about how his attitude to Absinthe was changed..
I am sooooo happy that they drink the absynth the way it's supposed to be drunk, with the ice water fountain.
except that they didnt get it right though..... you are supposed to let the ice water have a very slow drip that is over a sugar cube and disolves the sugar cube slowly and drips down into the absynth. without the sugar cube, it is totally wrong.
@@orion7741 the dripping is right but they wont wait for a few minutes for the absynt to get slowly diluted, but the sugar cube is wrong.
@@orion7741 Who cares DRINK IT
@@orion7741 blah blah blah who cares
The first time I saw those miniature mason jar shot glasses, I knew I had to have some. They weren't easy to find made from actual glass. Most were plastic or had handles or had some kind of design on them - they weren't authentic "mason jars", in my opinion. I finally found them - just what I was looking for. They're not your standard shot glass size - they hold 3 oz (twice a regulation shot). They're good for sipping late at night while I watch these awesome Moonshiners videos.
Where did you find them?
@@maraki8882 I got one years ago in a liquor store when I bought a bottle of Jim Beam. It was attached to the neck of the bottle but the little mason jar didn't have a cap. I still have it. I bet though you can order them online.
Where did you order empties at?
Check whole foods
I watch these almost every night and I’ve never thought about sipping some whiskey while watching? I’m crazy
I didn't know about this show, but I'm very intrigued
Same here, I expect this to be in the south USA somewhere, the. Realized it said Discovery UK I’m like umm okay? 🤯🤨😂
@@AmericanRustWorker3369 lol the judges are familiar from that moonshine show, but I love the competition format, like forged in fire
@@AmericanRustWorker3369 it was originally a show called moonshiners that was set in the southern USA. This is a spin off competition show that some of the guys are apart of.
@@brandil5688 I live in the southern US, and…. Yeah these guys aren’t used to absinthe. You can tell they leaned on the guy in the blue button up shirt a lot.
It’s a cool spin off of the original
I heard absinthe makes the heart grow fonder. ✌🏼
“You may or may not have heard of it” *drops a whole dictionary of knowledge on the plant* lmao
*Oooh.. That lovely Neon Green!* Makes it look like a proper little bitty Potion lol
Gotta love dudes in overalls with Southern accents talking about tasting notes.
Those guys are fake qf
Bwahahaha
She deserves that win hers looks so good
I really like the congenial atmosphere between all the contestants.
I had a electric button when I was in Colorado at a lavender farm and Marco brewery. It's a wild experience and it's a highly recommended try if you get the chance.
Great show! Keep it up! Saludos del Paraguay!🥃
Love this show
Why didn’t I know this show existed?!? I love Mark and Digger!!!
Love the booze scientist! He knows his stuff. Great vid!
I cant get over the fact of how beautiful that lady!! I think im in love !!😌😌
Which one? :)
Mark said it’s firery in my gulzzzeeelll
Bold choice going with the Simple Jack haircut for the dude in blue... lets see how it plays out cotton.
Awesome job
I’m gonna be honest. I would be honored to mix up some absinthe any day!
this would be the easiest way of being a judge 😂 the more you drink the more critical you get
I like seeing ladies being a part of this culture as well..
Anyone ever look at the moonshiner judge w the overalls no shirt and tan fishing hat and think he looks like a chunky version of the guy who plays hawkeye in avengers 😂 idk if it's just me but that's all I see is Hawkeye in overalls 😂😂😂
if you put dried mature wormwood in your pillow u will have vivid dreams
I like yr comment 👍🤩
@@smarc1325THANK YOU
I’m hooked and I don’t even drink
It's a good day I learned something new so

Just saying
It got akward when see started mixing her herbs🤣🤣🤣
4:13 camera guy understood the assignment.
The Judge without the shirt looks like Hawkeye's dad.
This might be my favorite tasting
I don't know about you, but I think he is Rockin tha shit outta that vest.
He thinks he's special. He ain't.
The fire blanket cut and shaped to fit still covered in that thin metal sheet people use to keep warm shaped and stuck to fire blanket to waterproof.
That's one of those moments that changes you. Ice water in makes crocker lose it
Absinth was very dangerous back then. Maybe, the man is right on 1:03 .Vincent van Gogh went crazy on it, and cut his ear off.
He was crazy because he had a long list of possible mental health problems, including schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
The lead poisoning didn't help either.
@@spamstabber He was a rejected child, but in the end , he was follow his dream. He saw the world differently, and his brother reconized it. And absinth was't any good for him. Its in the way they brew it back then.
I live next to the County where Absinth comes from .. Val de Travers..
The Original Stuff from over there..
Will curl yr Nails and all the World around you....🥳🙋♂️
This judge is literally walking them through it..
And the pot cover circle at the top and split it in two with heat resistance velcro if it exsist, and velcro it back together around your pipe's and cover for pipe same system.
And as you cook your mix, each time unique so does the still almost have life as the flavour's build and mix and then in that moment the still decide's how much you get.
You can tell who was going to win as soon as the guy said "dill" and "no heat" for coloring (even though I haven't seen the front end of the episode). She experimented in an organized manner on the fly with a good blanche absinthe base, he tried to get weird with a faulty base and failed. Don't be a hero and color outside of the lines with traditional absinthe recipes. At least not too far IMHO.
This is more like pharmacy than distilling
Forged in fire sure came a long way..
I have been making absinthe for over 20 years.. It is not just about colour. The taste is fickle as hell, because you are using super-strong tasting herbs, the trick being to make them cancel each other out. Anise is important for dampening the taste of wormwood, which is supposed to be abundant. Coriander, fennel and isop all gives the distinct taste profile. The concoction they are using here would not fly as absinthe in my book. You need to make actual tictures, not just dip the herbs
Yes also isn't the wormwood is supposed to be like LSD
@@alexmcdowell8868 Wormwood alas has no real psychoactive effects, but can be somewhat stimulating. The big effect was from the much higher alcohol content (70%) Personally I have made versions containing cannabis, mushrooms and even opium. Those absinths did work very much psychoactive.
@@jomorkenstrseth3526 I'd love to get my hands on some mushroom absinthe!!! Man, you got my mouth watering. I can't find it anywhere that regular moonshine can be had. I'm from Tennessee so I've got good quality shine, no absinthe I'm afraid.
Bro start making RUclips videos making it I’d watch sounds fascinating
@@jomorkenstrseth3526 Wormwood oil does affect the brain a lot - not just how you feel but also causes interesting visual effects not full blown hallucinations tho. That's just from the legal absinthe I drink now and then so I imagine the effects will be even stronger if you drink a traditional recipe.
I don't drink but I want to try her drink. It looks delicious.
Wow mena
I been thinking about the four course meal run, still pot's three divided all be, carrot's shread thinly and yorkshire's in one, corn and potato with hanging chicken or turkey in another, and the last pot, gravy and sprout's? Or grit's. Three but siix in to one, the thank given.
I really like this chick she is cool
Wow she's a beautiful woman
Imagine being an actual moonshiner, one of the last of a dying breed. You see your teacher, Popcorn, take himself because of the law... like that's how closely removed these guys are from actual illegal shining. They're teacher took his own life because he wasn't going to jail.
Few years later... "TONIGHT on Master Distiller... Digger and Mark make booze again!"
@4:51 "which, you MAY have heard of"...
I had the real deal, it will cause hallucination.
That bottle was not cheap but it was not my favorite, especially since I was young and stupid when I had it so I drank to get drunk lol 😂
Luckily I had 2 females to take great care of me.
Thank you ladies and I’m sorry for the bad times 😂❤👍🤫🥰😜
The girl and the guest judge are smart as whips
LOL!!! Go home to your prickly electric daisies or whatever , HIPPY!! 😆😂🤣
Try doing a thai version moonshine lemongrass lime chillies fish paste and garlic.
Bouncy
It’s effective, but an acquired taste that most people don’t find easy to obtain
Yayyy
My goozle
I would let both taste the difference and give him or her a idea of how they messed up and to say it they didn't make the cut to make there own mind up then announce the judges decision.
I think mark and digger need too make a big batch and sit on it like that there Whiskey
So if try to make the thank's given, and you do half your pot 's cook/heat in the middle with the burner slot's on the side of the pipe, to heat sideward's
watching from Kathmandu 7chabahil nepal.
And mike, you still got that fig brandy if so mix it with an apple brandy then run.
Did someone i invluence, make a receipe i flung, my head's banging.
If it were me making a still, i'd get a sheet of copper little thicker than you usually use then a press shop and press out half a butternut squash shape to the size cutout and weilded together then you want to cut out hole's needed. But i do like the heating going through the middle.
@Dirt Murphy You can weld copper. But what I think he means is soldering
@Dirt Murphy Copper can be welded via several methods. Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Gas tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), and Manual Metal Arc Welding (MMAW).
@Dirt Murphy You can in fact weld copper. A simple Google search will show you this.
@Dirt Murphy You can. ruclips.net/video/cYpYGbC2Drg/видео.html
They just cut her off at the end lmao
Fire blanket to cover your pot, waterproof if can , and hopefully a snug fit , snugish, if not waterproof change regularly for when raining maybe.
What in the fuck did you just say? The words are English, but they don;t make much sense.
@nilered do you think there is a precipitate? And if so what do you think it is
👍
Seriously missed a chance to call it "forged in fire water"
Sum bitch that’s a great name feller!! Hell you shoulda named the damn show lol. I reckon they could have some issues with forged in fire tho, not sure how copyrights and all that works when it comes to tv show names and what not
Never seen the polo shirt dude before. You can tell he’s feeling the likker Look at his damn hair
The goofball in the funny outfit literally could not stop lookin at his female competitor lmfao spent more time checkin her out than he did on his drink 😂 she was over there beatin the ever livin shit out of some herbs, he was just chillin cuttin looks at her. I mean I don’t blame him, hell I thought he was a gay when I first seen him but she’s for sure a looker 🤙🏼👌🏼😂😂
Can somebody get this guy a real shirt
What's with the overhauls?
What??? They have a moonshine making show
oh yeah , most of it is staged but it's interesting none the less
Basically bruv yeah
Chamar o Jambu de Jambu, os gringos não querem, né?
When heard her say wormwood I figured she win,, old absinthe used wormwood so,,,,,
Like every show judges ,brewers
But legally
And for god's sake, slice your potato like crisp not chunky the principal is the same as the oak chip's method, the more service area of the potato the higher the volume.
why is discovery changing the title and reuploading these
When I first saw this on them magic box, knew it gone swang. Able to get a easy 1 dollar
I'm from the South and I have never heard the word "goozle."
It’s not absinthe without anise
Was the guy in blue brought in my executives or something? He didnt stop spitting facts out the whole time. The others barely got a word in
lol, the judges are supposed to be experts right? then why don't they even know how to properly add the icewater ??
No sugar cubes?
Heating alcohol in a sealed container seems kinda dangerous
It's part of the process. Before distillation it's pretty weak.
It can be dangerous if you don’t know what you’re doing.
I can see 2 big reasons why they picked Mena.
She's quite the muddler
That dude didnt use wormwood so it's not absinthe
She is a FOX!!!
He did say comes in a little hot.
Are they using real wormwood?
