It's really safe to say that, ever since the late 90s, you can no longer by the classification of babyfaces are 100% cheered and heels are 100% booed anymore.

He's incredible. I wish they'd stuck with his face run tho, I think he had so much potential and he didn't get the chance to really show it
I am glad Tom was wrong (at least about the timing) regarding the MJF & Cole tag-team dissolution. I do believe it will happen at Wembley when they fail to win the RoH tag-titles, but I hope I'm wrong, they DO win those belts, and go into the main-event still as a cohesive unit.
In terms of storyline, what if they WIN the tag belts then the main event has them falling out? There's another months worth of storyline there where they have to pretend to like each other before maybe the world title rematch where it all comes to a head. So much fun!

Jay White being ranked so low basically invalidates your entire list. That's cocky of me to say to a wrestling specialist channel but seriously, that rank is absolutely ridiculous.
I think its because Jay White hasn't been in AEW long enough to be placed higher, they put Taya Valkyrie in alright because she's only just joined as well. This time next year Jay White will rise in these ranking, just give it a little bit of time.

Smarks have completely bastardized the notion of a heel. You're not a good heel if you get cheered. This was a good list.
I do agree with this argument but I feel like it’s sometimes taken to extremes by the contrarian ‘anti-smark’ types (not saying that’s you btw). Getting booed isn’t the most important thing for a heel. The most important thing for a heel is to make fans want to see the babyfaces beat you. There are some people who get booed because people don’t want to see them at all and that’s not being a good heel either
I agree man but theirs a difference between loving to hate them to a point where you wanna see their ass handed to them and will pay good money to see that and a heel that makes you wanna turn off your screen or not care about what they do
@@wh5601Yeah I'm not saying getting booed is the most important thing. But you can't be a good heel if you don't get booed. So it's more or a binary thing rather than getting as booed as possible. A babyface getting booed against a cool heel can do a lot or damage to their optics.
@@Kalel2.0Yeah, that's why I would say the best heels are the ones who walk the line between kayfabe heel heat and genuine/go away heel heat. For example, Jeff Jarret and his crew, they are genuinely annoying, but they also actually do well in the ratings. A wrestler who only has kayfabe heel heat can be difficult to use since they can only face babyfaces more over than them. Otherwise, you run the risk of the greener babyface getting booed. For examplen, when babyface yuta went against MJF.
@@BigmanDogs Yep, I’d agree with that for sure. It’s an issue that happens more in AEW too from my experience. The promotion typically having a lot more hardcore fans certainly has its benefits but also it’s negatives as simply being talented as a wrestler is a babyface trait to an extent there so heels have to work extra hard to get booed. Take MJF for example. Until the recent babyface turn, you could feel how increasingly hard he was having to work to get booed because the fans just respected his talent too much

I honestly can't understand the criteria here when you have Preston Vance in Lovely Lovely Lovely, but all of House of Black in Bin, and Jay White in Bearable. What has Vance done since the initial heel turn?

This will be really interesting one, because there are so many heels on AEW currently, that some might think are good in their role and some might think are bad. And for a lot of them I think there is a case to be made for both sides.
Aussie Open retains, MJF beats Cole, and then Cole turns on MJF and forms a new faction with Roddy, Taven and Bennett.

I think Jack Perry would be a much better heel if they stuck with the super confident/arrogant thing he had in his first promo instead of him just being another cowardly heel
If Mattel's gambit fails, it'll be called the Barney Cinematic Universe.
If CM Punk was included on this tier list, he'd be at the bottom of the best at least. To me, he's just so easy to boo and then when he goes off script (see this past week's Collision were he shot at Hangman for no reason) makes me want to boo him even more.
Jarrett, Callis and Cage are the best heels going at the moment, but MJF is the goat of AEWs heels
I think Jericho is, inarguably, the GOAT.
Toni should be judged separately and ranked much higher from the Outcasts.
I see her current heel act better than Saraya and Ruby Soho.

Christian Cage is on a level of his own in the heel game. He's the best in the world at the moment!

Ricky was amazing as a heel during team Taz, he was clearly the breakout star and if you watch the promos just before they broke up his her promos were fantastic. Absolute travesty where he’s been put, still love you though Tom, even if I can’t always agree with you.

jack perry was booked also wrong. why have him first battle Christian as a Babyface and then all of a sudden he was a heel without a real reason or build-up with a Storyline
Jack Perry would be better if they gave him more cinematics like the one where he buried jungle boots in the desert, go full breaking bad like a hollywood douche with money, do some alleged questionable deals with rush or something, hire some goons, manipulate some feuds with money or something. And if all else fails give us a superman 3 junkyard fight scene with jungle boy vs jack perry as some entertaining silly bollocks 😅

Ah yes, someone who did not actually watch the video, but still commenting on the video to let their frustrations be known about it.
They said Jay White hasn't been in AEW long enough to really be judged (they did the same forTaya Valkyrie only just turned heel so they didn't rank her highly as well), as for the HoB they said they're too likely & get cheered a lot which isn't a heel's job. They said they love them both, but their weirdly too likeable.

What they should do with Ricky Starks:
1) turn him face via getting totally wrecked by group of heels (bullet club gold?)
2) ricky recruits partners Caster and Bowens for six man match, which they win... due to Jeff Jarrett?
3) Jarrett decided that he's been there and done that as far as personal glory, but the Last Outlaw has a lot left to do- after all, he's a Jarrett. He thinks Ricky and the acclaimed are the future, and all they need is guidance... Oh, and their crew would be named the "Stroke Daddies".
4) Billy Gunn eventually returns, of course, and now he and double J are kinda frenemies but also kinda 'their two dads'. Bonus points if Jesse James gets to make a cameo appearance or two in there- JJ calling him "Roadie" and the Acclaimed calling the three of them the Old Age Outlaws would be GOLD.
5) When Jarrett eventually turns heel on them, he should do so when Ricky is World champ... and he should do so by screwing him over for his new project, a suddenly heel Hangman Page(!) Boom, heel Hangman vs face Starks feud.
