Zaila fulfilled one of my biggest childhood dreams, to be the first African American scripps national spelling bee winner! So naturallyI get so emotional watching her interviews and it takes me back to when I was basically one of the only ones competing in the spelling bee circuit 20 years ago! Imagine if more black people with exceptional talents and achievements were highlighted in the media on a more consistent and frequent basis. There are many that exist.
They don't actually condition us for that we are taught to play basketball football and rap the women are literally talked to nothing just to take every care of everybody else's kids we are we don't have the same backing as Becky and Fred they don't teach us to do different things that's why you don't see black people in NASCAR that's why you don't see a lot of black people in hockey the soccer handball spike ball it's so many outlets to showcase your talent but you don't see that because that's not what they market to us we are supposed to spend a lifetime working other people are supposed to spend the lifetime chasing their American dream

You can find an organization: Boys & Girls Club, Salvation Army, Big Brother/Big Sister, shelters, foster care agencies, after-school programs, etc. You sound knowledgeable and entrepreneurial...somebody somewhere can benefit from what you know. You don't need to have children to make a positive impact on children.
She’s going to be doing a lot more than teaching. This girl is very very bright she will definitely be doing something very spectacular with her future. Teachers are amazing and don’t get me wrong but they don’t make very much money and they’re very underappreciated. This young lady is a genius she’s going to go very far.
