    Jasmine is not the biggest hitter but for most of the time, she ensured that her ball landed on the back of the court, pushing her opponent to take a step back and not making their points from attacking short balls. Jasmine is like a dialed-up version of Halep, hope for more exciting result to come for her

    wow, Elena is a fighter!
    I was watching the match's second set, and Elena's frustration, then saw that she lost her service game in the third, and then couldn't stomach a possible loss.
    But she recuperated from a set down in the third. Congrats!
    (to all those saying Elena is calm as cucumber -- you can really see her emotions, frustration, anger, anxiety, impatience, and resolve and positivism -- you just have to watch carefully her face and body language. You can't see these emotions in the hilghlights, because they appear after losing points, not after winning:-)
    ps: Paolini -- as it turns out -- is awesome. Positive and mentally strong: saved 4(5?) breakpoints in the second set at a crucial game at 5:5.

    Rybakina is a terrible front runner. She almost always has these lapses in focus and intensity. But when her back is against the wall she is calm, composed and focused. Mentalty-wise she is the opposite of, Iga, who is a great front runner and wins almost always the second set when she has won the first set, but has a tendency to panic when her back is against the wall. By wasting so much energy in earlier rounds Rybakina makes it diffcult for herself in the later stages of big tournaments when she often runs out of gas. Hope she can work on that, because I want her to win much more slams. I really believe she has the highest ceiling among WTA players, while Iga has the highest floor.

    • @LobsterFromMars
      @LobsterFromMars 13 дней назад +2

      I agree that she needs to develop tactics to defeat her opponents in the first set. That's how she played in Brisbane, even in the match with Sabalenka. Her usual "slow start" only increases the risk of defeat in a game against strong opponents. This is a big mistake by her coach, who in tactical terms just stands still.

    To be honest Elena did not deserve to win this match.!
    It was a hit and miss stop start affair al through each set.!
    Shear carelessnes in many points and ALWAS going crosscourt with all her returns is going to cost her dearly if the coaches start getting aware of this instinctive habit of hers.
    Dont take my word for it. Just watch the game back for yourself.!
    Her serve is her saving grace and even with that she could be more carefull.
    She scrapes through in the most annoying to watch fashion time and time again.
    Poalini is just not yet quite in this class. Being so short must be a huge handicap for her.
