Andrew, I have had my xp30 for 4-5 years, it has never missed a beat except when i forget to turn my air on. It cuts everything I ask it to. 3/8 is about my max, if you need to cut more then you are in a bigger situation/business then you might as well spring for the 65 or 85 xp. I do like the ability of the 45 to disconnect the torch etc. When I bought my xp 30 it came with a really good case and the consumables are less with the xp30 vs the xp45. If you are a mobile the xp30 air could do 90 % of your work. The xp 45 does give you more when you need to gouge. A plasma cutter is the best when you need it , for me cutting 1/8 plate for the barbaques I make does me fine with the xp 30. Like everybody , it is great to by the model up and I do fall into that trap often, in reality it is what you are cutting 90 % of the time , and to other 10% use your gas torch. The propane/oxy ones are cheaper and work as well as the oxy/act ones.

I’ve owned my 45XP since March of 2020 and it’s been as reliable as an old dog! I keep it on my truck and it’s been thrown in the mud and sat for hours in the rain. I run it off my Lincoln 305G engine drive that produces 9500 watts with power to spare at maximum output. I just cut 3/4 steel plate with it last week. I’m super impressed with how it cuts 1/4” aluminum diamond tread. Consumables are a little pricey but I’m satisfied with the life span. Much better consumable life and cut quality than my old Lincoln ProCut 55. It cuts great but when it comes to gouging, it’s a BEAST! Love it!

Yes sure I have had mine since 2021. I have a cnc table and have 3650 cuts so far with 9hrs of cut time. This thing was well worth the money….. I looked at many plasma cutters and always came back to Hypertherm. That’s alllll they do is plasma. And they are the best period !!!
